Good value for the price. Room surprisingly big, on same street as several much more expensive hotels, staff very accommodating. You can request higher floor and room facing back to avoid traffic noise, which isn't that bad anyway. Staff couldn't be more helpful.

First, please understand that this is a 3 Star hotel. After saying that.. They are proud of who they are, great customer service EVEN if they look like they have never slept, great cleaning products.
Room: normal ( I am glad that I was not in a wood floor and not a carpet one)
Would I recommended it? YES! Nice, good and cheap! Save your money and used it in local cuisine =]
Note: if you didn't included breakfast, there is a nice coffeeshop called Bread Factory in less that 3 min walking, is great and cheap.

The hotel was situated just outside the old city of Athens, close to the metro red line. The staff at reception was very helpful and informative. The room was good for the price. Breakfast was 'standard', if you need a place in the center of Athens to go roaming the city, this is really good value for your money.

My experience was more than positive, first for the central place and very close to the Athens metro red line, so either by public transport, or by taxi or walking, strategic position for me! Satisfied for the area anyway.
Appreciation at the Hotel's Reception for their kindness and professionally for their availability and attention! Above all Mrs. Valentina and Mr. Sotirisis! I don't forget the Staff to take care of breakfast, bar and cleaning! Congratulations.

First is the wrong picture on the web side. There is no pool as it is advertised.
Second the bed is so hard you feel you sleep on the floor. Overall it's ok. I would not recommend it.

Overall it was a decent stay. The room was very clean and the spacious. The reception staff super friendly and helpful. I didn't have the chance to try their breakfast as my schedule was so full. No hesitation in recommending this hotel for overnight or longer stays

My experience at Hotel Minoa was excellent. The staff were the absolute highlight - always friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. They provided me with information on where to go in Athens, and the best way to make a day trip out to Cape Sounion using the public bus (I would very much recommend this). The room itself was neat and clean, with very fast WIFI, good air-con, a fridge, and a TV. There was a small cafe attached to the hotel that did excellent coffee and spinach pastries. The local area had a lot of good restaurants, some grocery stores, a market (on certain days of the week) and the hotel itself was a 2 minute walk from Metaxourgheio metro station (although it was only a 25 minute walk into the centre). As a solo female traveller I felt very safe in this hotel, however it is quite near Omonia Square, which I would not recommend walking in at night alone, as it can be dangerous.
I spent a week at Hotel Minoa, and had a fantastic time. It was the perfect base from which to explore Athens on a budget. I cannot praise the staff highly enough for how comfortable they made my stay - if you stay here you will be very well looked after!

- Room looks better in photos then in real
- very small showers
- Further away from central area of Athens (almost 30 mins walk). not pleasing at night as we had to walk thru lot of dodgy streets

My room was clean, but sparse with a small TV - not much of an issue for a tourists on a short break like me though.
The lack of a free standing shower or functionning shower curtain seems standard for Greek accomodation, at least in cheaper places.
Perfect location for metro access (2 mins walk), which would leave just a few stop to most tourists stop.
However, Metaxourghio has a bad reputation amongst locals. I took the Metro or taxied back when its dark.
I never saw anything to warrant the reputation, but i only there a few days.

Metaxourgiou is definitely not the safest area of town however metro and attractions were not far away. Excellent staff at the hotel, would advice to stay if your trip is no longer than a couple of days.

I booked the room some months before our departure. The price wich I booked included breakfast. It was a non-refundable rate so I got the confirmation after payment. In the confirmation Expedia informed me that the rate did not include the brekfast and I had to pay further Eur 10/day for the breakfast. I could not get my money back although Expedia misleaded me. I did not get what I paid for. After a long correspondance and some phone calls I got always the same answer, and they were not willing to solve the problem but they were very unpolite and uncooperative. It was the first but also the last that I booked at Expedia! There are a lot of other agents wich are correct. I have never experienced this kind of fraud although I booked hundreds of rooms.
The hotel is basic but clean, the neighborhood is poor but metro station is near. The stuff is trying to be polite.
