The living room is super comfortable with two built-in couches that can serve as twin beds, a cocktail table, chairs, and a smart TV for this who need to be “entertained”.
Lastly, and possibly most importantly, the pool patio is perfect for soaking up the sun, gazing at the stars, or simply whiling away the lazy days under the shade of the pergola. We had a wonderful 2 weeks. The power went out one night and the house manager had us stay at another place for the night. Power was only outon our street. It was comfortable and beautiful. We never wanted to leave.

The Barefoot is an awesome house with everything that you will need. The pool is clean and the house was perfect for our family of 4.

The Barefoot House was exactly like the photos depict and was super clean. Everything worked well and the place is well designed, bringing the outside in. We spent a lot of time working poolside, what a treat. We have stayed at numerous places in Sayulita and this one was one of the best.

The place was perfect for us 4 older women. Very clean. Pool was wonderful. Only spend one day at the beach because we had the pool all to ourselves right out our front door..
We walked to town everyday. The first day we had to find the best way there but after that was a short 10 minute walk. Cab fair back was only $5.00. It’s a very steep hill coming back but we got to where that was an easy walk also..
Maid service every couple of days and a gentleman every 3 or so days cleaned the pool..
I would highly recommend the Barefoot House! We plan to back again!!

Barefoot House was a perfect place for 2 couples. The pool area is peaceful and the house has just enough room. The location is great - quick trip to the colorful and bustling town (you can do that by foot) or the beaches (definitely rent the golf cart). Dave and company were responsive to all our questions and needs.

This was the best experience we have ever had. The host was amazing and communicative, the unit was amazing, and perfect for our family. The only thing we missed was a washer and dryer, but it didn’t matter…it was absolutely lovely.

Overall we had a really lovely visit here. The house is as described: wonderful pool and patio area. Cleaning staff and house management are excellent. Very comfy place to relax.
Few caveats to know: the house is up on a fairly steep hill, so it’s a good workout going from the beach up to the house. If that’s not your thing, you can rent a golf cart.
At nights, it can be very loud (roosters, dogs barking, bars playing mariachi music until 3am) so bring ear plugs. This is true throughout Sayulita, not just here.
Sayulita septic system is delicate so you can’t flush toilet paper. All wipes have to go in the trash next to the toilet. Not sure if this is true of all rentals in Sayulita or specific to one’s high up on the hill.

The property has a great layout and is beautifully decorated. Kitchen is well equipped. They have thought of every detail! It is about a 10 minute walk down a quiet winding street to get to downtown (probably longer on the way home as its a up a hill -- hence the great views!). You can also rent the hosts golf cart if you choose. We had a great time and will plan to stay longer the next time we visit Sayulita.

Everything was really great. Cleaning people, pool people Gardners all were wonderful. Only small detail would be the addition of a dresser for clothes in the smaller bedroom. Again just a very small suggestion. Also the town is a lot of fun and restaurants are super. Definitely would recommend. We will be back!

This was a wonderful little casa with everything we needed for an enjoyable vacation.

We booked this property for a wedding and it was such a great location that was very quiet. As many mention, the driveway and hills are steep so I highly recommend getting a golf cart which makes it extremely easy to get to the center of town. We had a 4 month old with us so we didn't attempt to walk at all, but it would be quite a workout. The bedrooms are on opposite ends which is nice and everything was clean. The pool was also nice and clean. I would definitely stay here again!

This house is perfect for 2 couples or a small family. The bedrooms are separated by the living room and kitchen for maximum privacy. The pool was the highlight, we were in it everyday/night. We had jungle views, no ocean views. The plaza is walking distance but we also rented a golf cart.

What a wonderful spot. Clean, comfortable and quiet enough, this was just what I was looking for. Very hard to leave. The hills up and down are steep if you rent a car, but more than worth it for the views and airflow.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Barefoot House! The house was clean and comfortable and had all the amenities we needed for a fantastic trip to Sayulita! The pool was especially nice. It was the perfect temperature and the kids had a blast. The beds were very comfortable too!

My husband and two kids (ages 9 & 11) spent 6 nights at the Barefoot House and had an amazing time. Everything was as described and pictured! A golf cart is a must to make the trip as enjoyable as possible with young kids. We would definitely stay here again!

This lovely casa is beautifully designed and we had a very nice ten days. The recommended airport transfer are brothers who were both very friendly, excellent English skills, and helped move luggage from car to house. As the owner says in Welcome Information, the driveway is very steep and very dark at night. My wife and I are in our sixties and it was doable, but challenging. The security light on the driveway was broken until our last day. The master bedroom is nice size and has plenty of storage and a very nice bathroom. The 2nd bedroom is much smaller, which we were surprised by. We had a second couple join us for a week, and were fine with the size. It would ideal for a family with children. A double and a loft double too. The walk to town is fairly steep as well, about ten minutes on cobblestone roads. Beautiful neighborhood called Gringo Hill. The town is amazing. Old Mexico style. Small restaurants and bars, not as much food variety as other more touristy locations. The mix of surfers, tourists and locals is wonderful especially in the Plaza at night. The beach and town walking venders are pervasive. Learn “No, gracias” Overall we loved Sayulita but will probably stay in town our next visit. The Barefoot House pool is lovely, and we’re sure once they repair the solar heating pipes the water will be much warmer.

I cannot say enough about this property. It was perfect for our family of 3, plenty of room, beautiful location with amazing views of the jungle. Perfect for what we wanted. We arrived staying for a week in October and hit a tropical storm. We did not mind since we are used to being there at this time of year. We did rent the Golf Cart which was awesome because we can totally explore this wonderful town and allowed us to go on many adventures. We cannot wait to go back in October!

We loved the Barefoot house in Sayulita! We felt very safe and comfortable the whole time. Having a pool and safe drinking water we’re big bonus’s! The walk down to town was short and easy. We have recommended it to others already.

Me, my wife and two teenagers stayed at the Barefoot house for one week in mid-June. Communication with the owner, Heather and Nancy, the property manager were excellent. Nancy helped arrange for a private driver to pick us up a the airport. This is important so as not to have to interact with all the time-share hacks and taxi companies at the airport. Gio was there waiting for us with a sign with our name on it. Easy! The drive to Sayulita was uneventful and he took us right to the house. This is when we realized how steep the driveway was in front of the house. Not a problem if you are in normal physical shape. Those with mobility issues might have a harder time. However, the location was on Gringo Hill, so lots of nice properties up there. A quick ten minute or less walk to the town and beach. The house itself was gorgeous. Two rooms - Master and a second room with a sleeping loft. Perfect for the two teens. Each had its own bathroom. The master bath was so beautiful with natural stone and shower head coming from a bamboo pole. Hot water too. The double sink and towels were a plus. The king sized bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. There are electrical outlets next to the bed to plug in all your cell phone IPad charging cables. The living are was a good size. It had a couch and loveseat and two chairs. The open room included the kitchen counter with stools. So you cook cook or prepare food while talking to people in the living area. We did not cook but made coffee every morning. The kids ate cereal and oatmeal that we bought at Mega on the way to Sayulita. The airconditioning units in all the rooms worked great. Outside, the pool was very inviting. However, if you don't like warm water pools, this may not be to your liking. It was bathtub warm. There were also patio lounges and furniture to hang out on. I drank my coffee every morning on the patio. You almost feel like you are in the middle of a jungle because of all the trees surrounding the patio/pool area. I saw roosters, and iguanas in the jungle area next to the house. Another plus is that the water in the house has been purified and filtered. We drank out of the tap all the time with no issues. The fridge is huge and has an ice/ water dispenser. Lots of DVD's to watch as well, although some are in Spanish. Buy a potable bidet before coming and you wont have any flushing issues.

This is one of our favorite vacation spots. Sayulita is so cute and a great place to spend sunny, happy days and having this gorgeous little house to come home to is part of what makes Sayulita special to us. The house is so comfortable yet naturally stylish at the same time. We love he pools and the covered outside seating area, the beds are comfy, the kitchen well set up, the owners gracious and the management company great. Nothing but positive things to say about this little gem. Our 5th time back, the only house we have ever visited more than once.

Great home with plenty of room for our party of 4. Amazing pool and views from the patio! It was very clean and had everything you would need in the kitchen and bathrooms. Beds were extremely comfortable.
House manager was very helpful and quick to respond to everything we needed. I would definitely get the golf cart because even though not far from the plaza and beach, the hills can be a bit much over and over again. We all would definitely stay again!

We just returned from a week at the Barefoot House and it was absolutely fantastic. . Impeccably clean, comfortable, well equipped and gorgeous. And the pool! Hands down the best pool we've ever had at a vacation rental. Our girls (ages 4 and 6) would have spent the entire week without leaving the pool if we'd let them! In addition the service provided by the property manager Nanci was excellent. Anything we needed was taken car of immediately. We had planned to rent the golf cart but it was not available, however Nanci arranged for another golf cart for us that was delivered to the house the evening we arrived. Awesome. In the week we were there the place was cleaned top to bottom twice, including sheets changed and all new bath and beach towels. The pool was cleaned at least twice. Really couldn't ask for a better experience.

This was our second time staying at the barefoot house and it didn’t dissapoint! The house is beautiful and private. It has everything that you could need and the housekeepers, gardener, and pool man are the best!
We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend!!

We spent a week here with another couple and LOVED it! There was plenty of room for all of us. Bedrooms at opposite sides of the house allowed for some privacy. Well supplied kitchen. When the blender broke, we notified the house manager and had a replacement the next day. The pool was wonderful, we spent most of the day lounging in the sun and swimming. Rented the golf cart for going into town in the evening. It was close enough to walk to town, but I have a foot injury, so the golf cart was a treat! Would definitely stay here again.

Loved this house, very comfortable and nicely decorated. The pool was so fun to have right out on the patio. The walk up “gringo hill” was enjoyable since there is often a nice breeze and beautiful views of the mountains and ocean.

Tried to bbq by the pool and the propane tank was empty
No dish towels and no tin foil or extra napkins
And the oven pilot light didn't light
But we made do with the cook top and truly love sayulita

We had the best time in Sayulita. The barefoot house was a fantastic fit for our family; myself, my husband and 2 year old son. Setting-up everything with Nancy was very easy. Our arriving flight was 40 minutes early and I was concerned that the car service might not be there, but he was! The driver said they check the flight status, smart. They even arranged to have a car seat there for my son. It made the travel, so easy. We rented the golf cart and it was vital in getting up and down the hill. Probably not a terrible walk for some, but with our son and beach gear; the golf cart was key. Truly cannot wait to go back. Very nice town, lots of ex pats and others who frequent the area.

The house is beautiful and we had a great time but it does need some LTC. We ran into several issues we were not expecting. First, the location, it's great that it sits on a hill, but just getting to the house, it is so steep we were afraid to fall every-time we had to climb the driveway and just bringing things to and from the house was not pleasant. Also the BBQ grill did not work, we bought lots of meat only to find out we could not cook it, we notified Nancy but she was not able to resolve the issue. Then we rented the golf cart for two days but due to issues of the golf cart not charging properly, we did not have the keys to the golf cart for the two full days. The AC unit in the master bedroom was leaking a lot of water, the lights in the bathrooms were very dim. Not having access to the washer and dryer is also a big negative since we had to pay extra for laundry, having a pool and beach close by we needed to wash towels more often than once a week. The dining table felt like it was going to tip over, very loose and flimsy. The kitchen utensils and containers could use some updating as well.

We loved staying at this little oasis on Gringo Hill! We loved the salt water pool and utilized it every day, especially after walking up gringo hill from downtown. The house had everything we needed and was comfortable and very cute. Having filtered water throughout the house was also very nice. There was only two of us staying at the barefoot house so we each had our own bathroom and bedroom which was fantastic. Upon arrival Nancy was there waiting for us and showed us around. We always felt safe and we enjoyed our stay immensely. I definitely recommend this house for your Sayulita vacation and we will definitely be back!

This has been the most memorable vacation, with equal parts rest and relaxation, shopping, and night life in the very quaint and colorful dowtown. I look forward to coming back someday...and would love to stay in the beautiful and very comfortable Barefoot House again.

We loved our stay at the Barefoot House. The house was immaculate, pool was amazing and the town of Sayulita was beautiful. We chose not to rent the golf cart and opted to walk with our four children into town (ages 3, 3, 7, 8). The walk was pleasant and easy for us, but it probably depends on how much your children enjoy walking. The saltwater pool was awesome because we didn't get the drying effect on our skin as you do in a chlorine pool. I would caution the little ones not to run on the pool patio because it does get quite slippery and one of our children fell twice (no injury). The house is just like you see in the pictures. I loved that it was secluded and it wasn't so big that you would loose your little ones. Definitely a great rental for families with small children as long as they are being supervised around the pool. I had talked with the owner (Heather) once on the phone and via emails with regards to our stay and she was extremely helpful and kind. I really can't say enough about this house and this town, it was a wonderful experience for our family and we will definitely be back!

Thank you to the Stewart family for opening up their beautiful home to us to enjoy. We have stayed here 4 times now and we always have an amazing time!!! Sayulita is growing and becoming more popular with more shops and restaurants. If you are looking for a great time with friends or family this is just the place.

This is a perfect location for a getaway. The town is bustling and hot and the barefoot house is tranquil and calm. The pool was spectacular as it was heated and had a splash area for our infant. The staff that visits is kind and helpful.
The beach in Sayulita is not the most picturesque but if you are learning to surf or like watching surfing it is great.
