About this cabin rental
Relax with friends and family at this peaceful 2.5 acre Gatlinburg-like property that sits off of a dead end road at the top of the Floyd Knobs. Due to the remote feel it’s easy to forget that you're only a couple minutes from the interstate and 10-15 min from downtown Louisville. There's plenty of space inside and outside of the cabin, including several acres to explore, for any occasion. Whether you're here to relax, gather, celebrate, work, or otherwise, Whispering Pines will meet your needs!
Much of the 2.5 acre property is wooded with several open areas for activities. The driveway is large and makes two circles for easy access. This is great when hosting gathering with several vehicles or towing trailers.
There are covered porches on the front and back of the house with a large great room in between. This large area includes the living room, kitchen, dining room, full bathroom, and an office. This space is great for hosting gatherings.
The first floor bedroom is immediately off of the great room, and has doors leading to the rear porch. The 2nd bedroom is upstairs and has a large walk-in closet. The 3rd bedroom is in the basement next to the laundry room.
All 3 bedrooms have beautiful views, closets, flat screen TVs, and storage for your clothing and belongings. The 1st and 2nd floor rooms have their own full bathrooms. Guests staying in the basement room generally use the full bath at the top of the steps next to the great room.
Two sofa beds are located in the great room, sleeping up to 4. Extra queen in the basement and air mattresses too.
There are trails through the woods for people to explore and typically a lot of wildlife. The trails extend across several acres and lead to a field (utility easement) on the east side of the property that is landlocked by steep hills and Whispering Pines (so no neighbors). The property to the west is being very slowly remodeled (so no neighbors unless they’re working in the house). The only neighbors you'll have are through the front woods and across the street and I rarely see or hear them. The rear of the property is a steep drop off down the knobs with great scenery regardless of the season.
Everything is accessible to guests except the garage and a storage closet on the first floor.
You probably won't find a property with these attributes at this price anywhere near the city...

Hidden gem! My family had a gathering to celebrate a big day in our life, and everyone who attended absolutely loved the cabin. As an added bonus, all the kids had a great time exploring the property.

Absolutely stunning accomodations. Felt like we were in Colorado rather than Louisville, KT. Very clean, multiple baths and bedrooms. Enjoyed the large screen television, wifi, and games. Convenient to town and restaurants with great access to the highway. If we head back that way again, we will definitely book again!

This property was absolutely perfect for our blended family with 4 teens. It gave us all ruin to spread out. Everyone found something fun to do while there, from outside exploration to a record player inside. The porch was lovely to sit outside in the morning. It was quiet. There was a family of turkeys on the property. Everything was clean, well organized and just nice. We had a working washer and dryer, were able to get groceries delivered, the kitchen had everything you could ever ask for!
It was a short drive to Louisville, we would stay here again should we be back.
The only down side? This might be the perfect rental for our family and we may never find anything as perfect again.

Love the quiet peaceful area and 3 batrooms were great when you gave several people.

My family and our dogs really enjoyed staying at this cabin for a short getaway. The house was clean with all of the amenities to make you feel at home. The house is nestled away from the busy city and allowed room for our two boys and dogs to run!
The owners were attentive and everything is as described.

The house was great. Although the steps to the upstairs bedroom were a bit steep (I need to lose some weight and get a new knee! LOL). We had plenty of room and the dogs loved their sniffy walks in the woods. Tons of parking! Sad that this was a working trip and we didn’t have much time to spend relaxing at the cabin. Close to grocery and restaurants. Great communication with the host. Would definitely recommend to anyone that needs comfortable space!

This cabin is large with 3 good sized bedrooms (one on each floor which gave privacy) and 3 good sized full bathrooms. One upstairs, one in the primary (main floor) and another on the main floor.
When we walked in we were greeted with a large lit Christmas tree and amazing smells. It was very clean.
The cabin is in a nicely wooded area that makes you feel that you are WAY out in the country but in reality you are just minutes away from the city and not far from Louisville where there are tons of things to do.
We had 4 adults and 2 kids and there was plenty of room in the cabin. The host provided board games which we played almost everyday. The boys loved exploring the woods and we felt very safe there.
The host was very responsive to all our communications and the cabin was easy to find.
A wonderful holiday vacation get away for which we will have lasting precious memories.
