The stink smells are all over the room. The room is clean but there is something stinky in the AC. Pet fee is 60-70$ but it doesn't show on the booking information

This is a very nice hotel, with a retro vibe. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is good, close to the historic downtown area as well as close to beaches. Only issues were with the app not loading and not able to use the keycard on my phone, but housekeeping gave me a physical keycare. Also, not much hot water except for maybe one day. Rest was lukewarm.

Perfect location to go to a covert at the amphitheater. Fun decor, clean with lots of restaurant choices in walking distance. Check-in is all through an app.

I had trouble with the key card despite the FAQ trouble shooting tips but someone on the phone helped me very quickly! The room was so cute and clean! Loved the location and would absolutely stay again!!

Really enjoyed out stay.
Came into town for a concert at the amphitheater (1 mile away from the local)
Hotel was clean and so easy to use the lobby free check in.
Dog friendly and really convenient to all of ST. Aug.

Cool little place close to everything. The vibe of the pool area is worth the stay.

We loved this place! Beautiful decor, great pool and walkable to st Augustine. Excellent value for money and customer service too.

Clean! Contactless was great because employees still texted if anything was needed.

Chair but no desk or coffee pot. They did send hangers when previous tenant took them. Pot in reception broken, but was able to microwave the free water. Double bed. Glad wife and service puppy not with me, at additional $200 fee :(. Wasn’t aware site was not staffed. Had to download application to check in and open door. But once I learned how to do, it worked. Very stingy. With No option to check in when I arrived 1 hr early. 3pm (not 2:59), sharp. $50 or $75 charge if late checkout. Many Normal hotels down the strip same price. Only my opinion, but can’t AI everything….

The Local is a great spot when you want to be near downtown, but not downtown! The staff communicates very well, they are always prompt, welcoming and friendly! Great place to stay!

This hotel is adorable - I was a little nervous it would be loud or not as cute as it is online but it exceeded my expectations in every way. If St. Augustine isn't enough of a draw, this hotel might be enough to bring me back again. Loved it and wish I had had more time to spend at the pool just lounging.

I like the building and cleanliness of the rooms. We are close to roads though

We stayed in the room that was pool side. Loved that it felt private with only having one other room next to us. The decor is fun, loved the selection of coffees in the lobby and everything was very clean and well maintained.

We loved the room, it felt private. It was connected to the pool area. The check in process was a little confusing and took a little time to get set up, however we got it straight very quickly through texting back and forth with the Local staff.

We loved The Local! Will definitely book here again next time we go to the Amphitheater!

Checking in was a disaster. Coffee pot didn’t work. Stressed the whole trip because if you don’t have your phone or it dies..you won’t see anyone or be able to get in your room.

When we first arrived, our review would have focused on small things like the lack of a second trash can in the room, no outside seating and the road noise (obviously the hotel cannot control this). However, the walls are so thin we left in the middle of the night the second night due to the noise from the "relations" happening in the room we shared a wall with, after being woken up the first night from this and then returning to the hotel for a break in the middle of the day to find that the pool had been rented out to a private party (complete with booming music). We try to utilize small, independent hotels/motels because we love the character but we ended up resorting to a chain hotel for the rest of our vacation. To their credit, the management did respond to our concerns and refunded our unused nights. I would advise that if you are planning a stay at The Local, just be aware that it is on a major road through town, there are few amenities and no onsite staff and that the walls are paper thin- important if you are planning to be intimate or if you share a wall with someone who is. The management was very responsive to our concerns so we greatly appreciated that.

Such a cute motel. I wasn't super sure about everything not having on-site staff but the owners are super attentive if you need anything. It's a great location and probably my favorite stop on our road trip.

very cute property. the room was small but clean. would definitely stay there again. the owner was very attentive and took care of a couple of issues for us (we couldn't get the tv to work - it wasn't hooked up properly and there was no soap in the container in the bathroom). Nice walk to the historic district (about a mile).

Stayed for a very brief visit to St. Augustine. Super cute hotel. Love the retro Florida beachy theme. Check in and room key via the app is super easy. Leila was available to us via text if we needed any additional assistance and was very nice and helpful. Would definitely stay again!

This was a great place to stay to have somewhere to lay your head down after having fun in St . Augustine.
I was skeptical about staying at a place without a front desk. I'm millennial so still comfy with technology, but still, I thought, how could it be the same experience? Actually it was better. Instead of having some person at the front desk tell me they'll address something at some point later, I was able to text about the one issue I had and got fast resolution
Some reviews talk about the street noise, but I live downtown in a major US City and it definitely wasn't that kind of loud. There's a white noise machine available, though I always travel with one anyway.
It was very clean in the room.
My kids enjoyed the pool.
We were close to everything we wanted to do.
The coffee was easy to get in the morning downstairs and there's a convenience store across the road.
Should my travels bring me back, I would book again.
My husband encountered a fellow in the parking lot who pulled in and asked what it was like to stay there as he was looking for a place to stay for several days, and he recommended it as a nice spot

Exceptional customer service! Rooms and grounds were very clean and decorated very cute. Lots of great places to eat within walking distance. Already booked our next stay!

The Local is in a great location, walking distance to historical downtown and the St Augustine beach. The app is easy to check in and check out and request any services.

We went in to our rooms and they were slippery. I had to take off my shoes because it was dangerous. I contacted the “hotel staff” (there’s no staff and communication done thru text) and they refunded my payment as I decided not to stay.

The place was overall cute and convenient. We had some struggles getting connected through the app and messaged the company. They were quick with a response. The only downfall was that the walls are super thin. We were able to hear our neighbors conversation easily and them opening and closing the door. It was good for a one night stay.

The Local is so cute and I just absolutely loved the vibes. My husband loved it too. Although there is no reception or concierge desk, we felt completely comfortable and that we had everything we needed. We also received at text day of check-in from an employee asking us to reach out if we did need anything. There’s no key it’s all digital which can be quite confusing at first but once we got the hang of it, it was easy. The only negative I have about this place is that it’s a little bit of a walk (1-1.5 miles ish) to the downtown area and the walls are VERY thin. We could hear full on conversations in the next room. Otherwise though we enjoyed our stay immensely and recommend. Also, just down the street is a great restaurant/cocktail bar called Odd Birds. Go!

It was mediocre and I am surprised it has such great reviews. It’s an old strip motel. I wouldn’t stay again
5.0
Wonderful stay! Only advice I can give is if you are a light sleeper don’t stay here just because you can hear every car that passes by! Nothing against the motel! The room was very clean and comfortable! Had everything we needed!

The property was clean and quick uber downtown but there was no hot water. First shower was luke warm and the rest were cold.

The room was very clean and comfortable. You can notice that the rooms were renovated recently in the modern "flamingo" :) style.
One thing that not enough light in the room. The two bedside lamps don't light the room enough to read. The self-check-in service may be little bit too complicated for people not familiar with technology. But once you are in then keyless entry system works fine. It requires some patience.
The lobby area clean and nice with VERY GOOD coffee.

Very basic but met our needs and was clean and easy.

What a pain. I received many emails and repeated text messages from the property explaining why i have to use a cell phone to get in thecfront door. Turns out the bathroom hot water faucet doesn't work. What a expensive rip off

The Local was nice. A little bit smaller than I had expected but for just two people and one night it was great. Just a good spot to stay at for a good price and everything around the area is close by.

Adorable little hotel clean and conveniently located near the lighthouse and historic district. Very clean and rooms are spacious. The app made it easy to check in and out. Overall I recommend

Completely keyless. No people staffed. If you are not tech saavy, good luck!
