The hotel was clean, even with out side scaffolding. Room was adequate as a twin bed.

The Room was horrific, you have a tap that wasn’t fixed to the sink, it felt like it was going to break off in your hand, a window you couldn’t shut, looking out of it, it was full of dirt and Scaffolding on the outside. All the wall paper on the halls being ripped off the walls. The floor in the bathroom feels like you are going to fall through it. The toilet and shower are within a metre and a half of each other and that is the only room you have, the sink is in the bedroom because it wouldn’t fit in the bathroom. The Lady in Reception done her upmost to get the room ready for us, the bed was comfortable, the couple above us were chatting the whole night until 8 in the morning. So the ceiling and walls are very thin. The breakfast was ok and the man serving was very helpful. Luckily we were only there for one night.
I’m gutted I didn’t take photo’s of room 313. Hopefully with all the Scaffolding everywhere you are having a revamp.

I am absolutely convinced this is a hostel for those who are unfortunatly homeless. As soon as we arrived we were immediately relocated to their sister hotel. The receptionist was so nice. I think her name was Nicky. She definately gets 5 stars.

The hotel had scaffolding round it which on first impressions we thought they were updating the hotel. It turned out it was there just for the roof. Our room was on the 2nd floor and the handrail up the 2nd flight of stairs was loose, our room was was obviously a single at one time and a double bed and extra single wardrobe had been put in, we couldn't access the bed from both sides.I had to move the bed to access the double plug socket. The bed was comfy though. Parking is on the road and is very limited although it is free if you can find a space. Breakfast, choice of cereal, fruit, croissants or a self service "cooked breakfast" the first morning everything was cold, sausage, bacon, beans and tomatoes the toast had obviously been toasted for some time as it was also cold when he brought it to us 1 minute after us ordering it. We arrived for the breakfast at 07.50 (breakfast is between 07.30 and 09.30) so we weren't long after the start. The 2nd morning we got there at 07.35, the sausages were very hot but once again the bacon, beans and tomatoes were cold as was my wife's toast. I got bread and butter so ended up having a sausage sandwich. There was only scrambled eggs available and neither of us had them so don't know if they were hot or cold. This is a very cheap rundown hotel and we would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone. The staff were friendly though. Best thing about it is the lovely Indian restaurant right next door to the hotel.

I was met with a big smile before I was given my keys. Nothing was too much trouble. Hotel a little tired but that didn’t matter. I was only there for one night but would have happily stayed longer

Had a call the day before - I was moved ("upgraded") to sister hotel the Strathmore, due to unforeseen circumstances. All good - a bit further from chippies, shops etc but lovely hotel, fantastic sea view, super helpful staff.

Was very clean. Very welcoming
Breakfast was really nice

The hotel is under refurbishment so that is reflected in the cheep price. It was very clean and staff were fantasic. It is very unique in the layout of the corridors and bedrooms, but you are made aware of any hazards on your journey to your room. Breakfast had plenty of choice 😋 if you couldn't find something to eat you are a picky eater. There was only two accessible plugs in the bedroom main one for the tv and the other for the kettle, we had to switch out to charge our phones. The window didn’t open which was a shame but we were provided with a plug in fan. The bathroom was usable the shower was a bit rickety but did the job. I would stay again great for a cheep getaway. The bed was comfortable and sheets were fresh.

Lovely hotel and great location with free on street parking (can be busy but we found a spot). Gorgeous room overlooking the sea. Some building work taking place but did not affect our stay. Very welcoming staff. Clean room. Good breakfast. Would come and stay again

Very pleasant owner, comfortable stay and a nice breakfast to send us on our way.

Staff were attentive, bed and towels were good, the hotel at present is undergoing repairs so looks like a building site with scaffolding front and rear.
Rooms are very dated with a distinct lack of modern equipment IE usb ports, smart TV, Wi-Fi was adequate.
The cooked part of breakfast is poor, all other items were okay.
But at the end of the day it’s cheap and cheerful you get what you pay for.
Parking is first come first served, transport is on the door step. All shops within walking distance. The whole of Morcambe is in need of a regeneration.

Basic

Initial impression was dubious. The locale was scruffy and the decor was in need of updating. The room was small and furnishings were very basic (looked like MFI stock) but seemed clean. The room was very cheap so it was what I expected. However, the bed was comfy, there wasn't any undue noise during the night (other than the gulls) and everything was very clean (the bathroom was spotless). The breakfast, included in the price, was good (although fried eggs would have been nice (only scrambled available)). Overall, an excellent value for money stay.

We are unable to do a review of the Clifton Hotel as when we arrived, we were informed that our room was still in the care of the builders and we were being transferred to the Strathmore Hotel, belonging to the same company and also on Morecombe sea front as we wished for. However, the person on reception could not have been more helpful, arranging for refreshments while he went to collect his car to take us to the other hotel. He also came back the next day to transport us to Heysham ferry terminal at no charge. We were also very satisfied with our stay at the Strathmore.

1 night.
Service and breakfast was very good.
Beware there are large steps into building and if you are elderly and have a heavy case thus could be a problem.
Overall i rate thie accommodation as good
value gor the money that i paid.

First time I'd stayed at the Clifton and it was a lovely stay. Lovely welcome, lovely view across the bay from my bed, and nice and clean and comfortable.
Would have liked a little lamp in my room instead of the big light, and the bathroom fan didnt work but other than that it was lovely. Breakfast was self service and it was lovely, the sausages were MASSIVE and the waiter brought coffee or tea as required.
Would i stay again ?
Yes, most definitely. I'm a Morecambe FC season ticket holder from Yorkshire and will need regular stayovers from August onwards

I booked 1 night as a stopover on our way north and wishes we’d booked longer . When we drove past and I saw the scaffolding and boarding I thought it’s only one night. However once we got through the front door everything changed. We were greeted with a warm friendly welcome and shown to our room ,even having help to carry our case up. The room was beautiful decorated and had a seaview. There was a table and chairs in the window where we sat and watched the world go by. The en-suite was very clean and had soap, shower gel and fluffy white towels. Once we were settled in we went for a walk along the promenade, the views across the bay were stunning.
Back to the hotel after a lovely meal at the nearby bowling, Italian restaurant, we watched the sunset over the bay. In the morning we got up after having a very comfortable nights sleep and had a very good breakfast. There was plenty of choice which was all self service.
We will be back and staying longer next time .it just shows you should never judge a book by its cover. The scaffolding didn’t stop our enjoyment. We’re looking forward to seeing the building when it’s finished.
Thank you everyone at the Clifton, you made our stay very happy

Came for a cheap n cheerful overnight stay at the seaside. Plus notes, room very clean and bed seemed reasonably new and the bed, bedding and towels were good and once people had gone to bed it was pretty quiet The big let down was that the shower only dribbled out either freezing cold or absolutely scorching skin melting hot water and nothing in between. Tried to have a shower first evening which was not good, then the next morning it was just freezing cold water so we ended up having a wash and washing hair in the low sink, also no bathmat provided. The breakfast was very disappointing, yes cheap ingredients and you get what you pay for, but I do at least expect items to be hot, the cooked items were lukewarm and congealed. Took my own oat milk in a thermos as dietary requirements not catered for. Also check in was a bit odd standing sweating with heavy bags whilst the guy complained about Expedia. I can see now why we could not find this place on Trip Advisor!

Nice seaside hotel across the Rd from seafront. Lovely promenade to walk along seafront. Hotel a little faded due to age of building however clean bright and comfortable. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay again. Excellent value for money breakfast was included. Plenty of tea and coffee in room.

A lot of work has gone into improving the property and is showing around the place

The traffic noise, especially at night, was unacceptable (no fault of the hotel). The buffet breakfast ran from 7:30 onwards; after 8 plates and food were stone cold. The room heating was excellent, and staff always willing and helpful.

I would not recommend anyone to book a stay at the clifton in morecambe,,its very untidy very grim looking,,lots of things not working,,i hope i will get a refund as staying there was a big issue for my partner they should close and get everything sorted and decorated so it looks appealing for customers to stay
