About this house rental
Oceanreef Beach house offers the ultimate family getaway, perfect for creating lasting memories and indulging in the best of coastal living.
Enjoy private oceanfront access, take a 5 min walk to popular Queensland Beach, bike or walk on the nearby "Rails to Trails" or pack up for a day trip to one of the many other South Shore destinations. Just 35 min from downtown Halifax, you can spend the day in the city and still be back to watch the sunset.
The space
The soothing sound of waves crashing onto the shore provides a calming ambiance at any time of the day, making Oceanreef the perfect place for relaxation and reflection. There's plenty of green space to kick around a soccer ball or have a picnic, a basketball net at the foot of the driveway, lawn chairs, and a brand new deck with patio furniture perfect for dining, relaxing, and star gazing on a clear night.
The interior of this century-year-old home is a combination of traditional historical features and modern upgrades for comfort and convenience. It has hardwood floors throughout, spacious rooms for spending time together, comfortable beds, and heat pumps for heating/cooling. At the moment, the 3 fireplaces are not in service.
Guest access
Guests will be provided with a unique code to a keypad lock.
Other things to note
This home uses well water, so guests are asked to be mindful with water usage. Water is tested regularly and treated daily through a filtration system, and is safe to drink.
We are on a septic system, and as such guests are asked to flush only toilet paper down the toilets. Tissues, makeup wipes, diaper wipes, sanitary products and cleaning wipes cannot be flushed down the toilet.
The clawfoot tub has recently been refinished. Please avoid using spray tan, hair dye, bath bombs, metal toys, or anything that could stain or chip the surface.
A fire pit is available upon request. Guests must sign an agreement to use the pit to ensure safety. Firewood is not provided.
There are neighbours who live quite close to the property, and guests are asked to be respectful of their property. Please stay within the property lines as indicated by markers.
Beach towels are provided. Please use the bath towels for showering/bathing only.
An extra twin cot with a comfortable full sized twin mattress is available upon request for an additional $25
As the beach house backs onto a forest, sometimes wildlife will wander onto the property. Guests are encouraged to bring food into the home at the end of the evening so as not to attract unwanted guests.

We had a great stay at this property. The location was perfect for the activities we wanted to do while in NS. Peggy's Cove, Halifax, Lunenburg, Mahone Bay all within a half hour drive. Trena was an attentive host and the house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay for 7 adults and a 12 year old.
Check out the Trellis Cafe for breakfast on your visit to this place!
