Location is top notch, walking distance to most of the sights in Cork, and public transit. Very cute cozy building. I really liked being able to hear the live music from the pub downstairs. The only real complaint I have is that the walls and doors are paper thin- you can hear everything in the hallways and other rooms.
Check in was air bnb style, keys in a lockbox on the door, so if you're not comfortable with that it might be a problem for you.
Overall good experience!

We enjoyed our stay , a lovely welcome as we arrived . Our room was clean , bright and loved the view . The bathroom was basic but this was perfect for a two night stay .
There is no breakfast but bakery opposite and pub next door - traditional and everyone we met was friendly .
3.5
No hot water in shower and no elevator. Owner was not onsite to address problems.
3.5
No reception but fine once you get in contact by messages

It’s a basic room very small but does the job for somewhere to rest the head. It can be quite noisy as it’s above the Main Street, very close to pubs and shops so it’s convenient that way. Shower was warm and there’s a TV in the room. Check in can be done by self check in which was convenient.

Incredibly comfy bed! Fabulous location! Emailing lock box code would have made check in easier - current method a hassle. Other than poor check in, would definitely recommend.

We told them when we’d arrive, but there was no-one there. We found keys outside in an open key box. 2 hours later they texted asking when we’d arrive and seemed to indicate it was our fault they didn’t have staff. No breakfast next morning. Still waiting for any sort of apology. Stay elsewhere.

All was good except for the evening noise. There was music playing until at least midnight on both the Friday and Saturday evenings so it was difficult to get to sleep.

Excellent

Loved that the place was easy to find and close to bus and train stations! We arrived early and had to call for check-in instructions, but they were kind and very accommodating! Our room was ready early and the check-in process very easy. Clean and cute little place that feels like staying at Grandmas! Lots of places to eat and explore nearby. Very comfortable stay for our short trip to Cork!

Perfect location. I don't know why they call it a B&B, there's no breakfast or anything of any kind to purchase. Personally I'd invest in recarpeting, it was pretty gross to step on with bare feet. Bed was cheap and hard. Price was very decent for what it was. A mixed bag. I'd probably try another place next time, though.

Small. 3 flights of stairs. Difficult to sign in

If advertised as a Bed and Breakfast, breakfast should be provided.

Terrible,
On Orbitz’s website it says: Bed and Breakfast with 24 hrs front desk. There is no breakfast or even coffee maker in the room. No 24 hrs front desk, There is no front desk. It’s misleading to consumers.
We stayed one night and had horrible experiences.
This is a 2 to 2.5 star place. Dirty carpets. I
Only good this about this place is location. So if anyone wants to use their money wisely find some better place in the same location. Even paying little more in the same location will save you from horrible experience and will enjoy your vacation.
We wasted our money and time and got anger and frustration that ruined our trip.

The proprietor was very helpful. The neighborhood was filled with restaurants and pubs with lots of music and shops all within easy walking distance. We did have a MAJOR plumbing issue.
3.5
Very close to all the restaurants and shops.

Brilliant location in the heart of the city. Didn't meet the staff as we checked in late, but he was very friendly and helpful on the phone. Beds were comfy. Bathroom was small but shower was hot. Would definitely recommend.
3.5
Nice little B&B in a great location and above one of the classic Cork trad pubs (which is not intrusive). Only downside is that they don't do breakfast any more since Covid. Staff very friendly and accommodating.
3.5
No contact information on how to check into facility. Despite providing time for arrival there was no one there. And I had a hard time finding the phone number to call to get me the lockbox info to retrieve my key. Almost a disaster in terms of paying for something I could not use. They advertise a 24/7 support and there was absolutely none.
3.5
Some confusion on how to check in otherwise perfect stay
3.5
Well it was a B&B but no longer. It’s quite tiny and getting a little tired and worn out. The upside to this place is location to all the restaurants and pubs. Other wise for a few more bucks a little further was you can have quite a bit nicer place to stay.
3.5
Comfortable stay

Like everyone says it's not a true BnB, no breakfast to be served. I can pee harder than the water comes out of the shower head. Toilet leaked. Walls are paper thin. Beds are hard as a rock. It is so convenient though being so close to city center and all it has to offer! Staff was amazing.

Thank you for the prompt response for the curtain repair. Love the location, great service and everyone was friendly and welcoming. May i just add the suggestion since there is no longer breakfast offered, maybe adding a kettle to the room so we could make tea or coffee. Inte d to return, míle buíochas

Wonderful location. Building and room a bit worn. Shower water pressure very very low. Located above pub so so will likely hear music late. Be prepared to climb several flights of stairs. Stay here for the location, not for the amenities.
3.5
Pros - great location. Steps from shops and pubs. Cons - there is nobody on site and there is no 24/7 front desk as listed. Not sure what you would do in an emergency. The carpets in the hallway and room were very dirty. Mattress was uncomfortable and old. Mold on the walls and in bathroom. You only get one key, so this can be very challenging as there is no front desk to let you in main entrance. There is no parking and the cheapest option was 70 euros for two nights in a public parking lot. The WiFi is terrible and very spotty. The walls are very thin so you can hear your neighbors. Very poor water pressure in the shower. I would not stay here again.
3.5
We had a twin room. Beds comfortable, clean, good shower & great location.
3.5
Billed as a B&B but there is no breakfast served- ever. Hotel carpet is dirty/stained, stairway very dusty, showers contained empty bottles labeled “body wash,” and there is no one on site to ask for help. Expedia should be ashamed for even listing this business.
3.5
Great friendly pub below so if out on the town no probs, great location but if you want to sleep then forget it
3.5
BLACK MOLD! As soon as you walk in you smell the mold very strongly. We had to sleep with the window open due to the horrible tench (downstairs is a bunch of bars so there was no sleep). The toilet would flush even though toilet paper was not deposited. There was no breakfast so there is no reason to call it “B&B”. The place is not kept up. Stains on carpet, dirty bathroom, and so small. The walls are paper thin so even if the neighbors were quiet, you heard them. Overall, very happy i only stayed one night.

Over a pub but no problem not noisy. Grrst ares. Walked from traim stn
3.5
Great little place, but keep in mind two things- this little place is above a pub so music playing till 1:00 am at night.
Do not park your rental in the Merchants Quay car park. We were delayed because we couldn’t access the car park.

Just a bit small for us large Americans, other than that, it was perfect.

Lovely service, and convenient location.

At request I send my ETA: arrive by train in Cork at 13.41. We arrived at the accommodation shortly before 14.00. No reaction at doorbell nor on e-mail. Next attempt 14.15 - no reaction. Tried telephon: answer! Some minutes later the frontdoor was opened. Friendly reception by young woman. Got the immediate message that "they has stopped with breakfasts, a bakery was opposite the street
I feel misled, booked a B&B, got just a single B..

ON POSITIVE SIDE, room SATISFACTORY in GOOD LOCATION , CENTRAL TO SHOPS REATAURANTS, PUBS.--- ON NEGATIVE SIDE , Arrived 2:30 pm (following 6 hour flight & 3 hour train ) I rang bell, knocked on door for about 30 minutes. Apparently, no one at property. Finallly , went to visitor center and they were able to contact owner. Obviously some miscommunication about check in procedures. In any case, not used to arriving at lodging and not being able to have access to room. I had made decision to stay additional day in Cork, but next morning , again no one available to speak with, so checked into another hotel . I think that under the circumstance, I would stick to standard Hotel/Motel lodging.
3.5
Right downtown and near pubs, restaurants, shopping centre, and the major pedestrian shopping streets. The stairs up can be as much as 5 flights, old and narrow. City noise is prominent but you are choosing this place for the location right downtown. Staff was very friendly. No onsite breakfast but it’s because you have so many restaurants nearby. Parking is another challenge as it’s street parking and can be full until later at night. We parked at the parkade 1/2 way down the block and moved our rental car to the street parking just before the parkade closed for the night.

Would not recommend. Read all recent reviews thoroughly before you book. This is not a bed and breakfast. Spend the extra 50 euros and stay anywhere else. It's loud. WiFi stopped working at 11pm and never restarted. Tiny bathroom. Cigarette burns in the carpet. Stains on the bed sheets.
3.5
This is listed as a bed and breakfast . This is misleading as no breakfast is provided or available. There is no kettle in the room to make yourself a coffee and no common area where you can make one. i had no contact with staff as the girl who let me in left straight after. I did ask at the pub down stairs next morning where the breakfast room was. The Barman said that they had no connection with the upstairs and where a separate business. A fairer description would be " Room for Short term let"
3.5
There was no correspondence from the Owner asking our ETA. We had to call them through their website to obtain instructions- no one on site as per instructions
Room & bathroom were both clean & tidy
A kettle & cups would have been a nice touch
