About this cabin rental
Four seasons of fun on Lake Vermilion. Enjoy lake views, sunrises and sunsets year round with islands in the distance. The cabin sits steps from a rock lined shore featuring a large fire pit and deck overhanging the water, there is a nice dock with bumpers to keep your boat. The property is located 3 miles from a public boat launch.
The cabin has everything you'll need for a comfortable stay, the kitchen is fully stocked with a new electric glass top stove/oven along with a refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and endless amounts of counter space round it out. If cooking is not in your plans during your stay, we are within a few miles by boat, car or snowmobile to a number of restaurants on the lake. The bedrooms have rustic bed frames and comfortable mattresses, the bathroom located between the bedrooms offers a new shower and fixtures.
The heated bunkhouse has a king size bed with a futon couch which converts to a double bed for additional sleeping space, a smart TV and a small refrigerator. The bunkhouse is located a few steps from the cabin as well as steps away from a stylish outhouse for those of you who are the outdoorsy type.
The cabin sits between 2 large parcels of land with no neighbors in sight, the only thing you'll see is Mother Nature.
On the deck overlooking the lake we have a large Green Egg grill available for use and we supply the lump charcoal.
Winter - The Lake Vermilion area offers easy access to more than 1,000 miles of interconnected groomed Minnesota snowmobile trails. Located at the junction of the Arrowhead and Taconite trail systems, the trails are well-marked with detailed maps on the lake. If you have snowmobiles you can access the lake from our property, if not there are rentals available in the area. Winter walleye, northern, perch, crappie, and bluegill make for excellent ice fishing. Cross-county skiing, snowshoeing and dogsledding are also available in the area. At night when it's quiet you can hear the ice cracking from miles around. My favorite is on a clear night to sit on the deck gazing at billions of stars and listen.
Spring - Fishing is amazing on Lake Vermilion. We are located on the north shoreline of Daisy Bay, from the windows or outside enjoying the weather, you'll watch boats pass by and you're close enough to ask if they are catching anything!
Summer - The warming water temperatures allow for water skiing, swimming or just floating right off the dock. The lake bottom is hard and rocky in areas but drops off quickly, it's about 12 feet deep at the end of the dock. Our cabin is protected from the wind and boat traffic as it's situated in a cove-like shoreline. The cabin has air conditioning but most nights will offer a breeze off the lake allowing you to comfortably sleep with the windows open and able to hear the sound of the waves.
Fall - If you love the changing seasons and the colors of the leaves changing during the fall months, you will not be disappointed on Lake Vermilion. Warm and sunny days lead to crisp, cool nights and a great time for a bonfire with s'mores. This is also a great time of year for fall fishing, hiking and biking, ATV/OHV, and golf.
Nearby attractions include Fortune Bay Casino, The Wilderness at Fortune Bay Golf Course, Pier 77 Mini Golf, The International Wolf Center, North American Bear Center, Pebble Spa, Soudan Underground Mine, and endless hiking trails and attractions.
No matter if you're looking for activities or you're wanting nothing but tranquility you'll love this space anytime of year!

This property is right on the water with a wonderful view of Daisy Bay on Lake Vermilion. The kitchen and living areas are bright and spacious. A great balance of "cozy cabin" with modern amenities.
Ample entry way with cabinet and cooking space for sharing meals. Keurig coffee maker is nice, but would have been helpful to know it was the only coffee maker.
Bedrooms in main cabin are a bit tight and the closet light in the 2nd bedroom is going out (bad/loose ballast). The bunk house is spacious and has several windows but a fan was still needed to keep it comfortable (temperature). The stairways to and from the parking as well as the bunk house are very steep. You will definitely get your exercise and "steps" in.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this gorgeous cabin nestled on the shores of Lake Vermilion, and it truly exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the cabin's charm and its stunning lakeside location.
The cabin itself is a gem—immaculately clean and thoughtfully stocked with all the essential items needed for a comfortable stay. It felt like a home away from home, with every detail meticulously attended to. The well-equipped kitchen, cozy living areas, and comfortable bedrooms made our stay incredibly relaxing.
One of the highlights was definitely the fire pit, where we spent our evenings enjoying the crackling flames and the peaceful ambiance of the lake. The views from the cabin are simply breathtaking, and having direct access to the lake made it perfect for sunrise views and leisurely evenings.
Communication with the owners was top-notch—they were friendly, responsive, and clearly committed to ensuring we had a wonderful stay. Their attentiveness added a personal touch that made our experience even more special.

Cabin was wonderful!!! The parking is different, very steep stairs. It was perfect once you got down to the cabin, needs some covered outdoor space, sun umbrella maybe. It is northern Minnesota and the secluded cabin was what we were looking for. Jeff and Andrea were FABULOUS at accommodating us. Thank you for sharing your beautiful property.

Property was exactly as described. Perfect location on the lake. We hired a walleye guide and he picked us up right at the dock. We caught two nice meals of fresh Vermilion walleye. Cabin was very nicely finished, woodwork, floors and kitchen finishing was very high quality and a great 'up north' vibe. Beautiful place on a beautiful MN lake.

Beautiful Location, very well maintained, clean and well equipped, and bveautiful home. Great deck and dock. Excellent swimming, but I would add a ladder to the dock to make it easier to get in and out of the water.
We will return!

We truly enjoyed our time there! The layout and accomodations were very comfortable. Your deck right on the water was our most frequent location, and we love your firebowl! The weather was great, and most of the fish we caught were right from your dock and
deck!
I'll admit, the walk from the cabin up to your parking area is a bit of a climb.
Again, it really was a wonderful stay, and we are strongly considering plans for another visit!
Thank you,
P.S. Your picnic table is lovely!

We had a great stay at this cabin. We came up for a weekend but all wished could of stay longer! It had everything we could ask for. The lake was beautiful and serene. The woods/ landscape were full of nature. The cabin was nicely furnished and very comfortable. We had three adults, and it had plenty of room for us without even using the bunkhouse. If you are looking for a peaceful lakeside cabin this is the one for you. We would stay absolutely stay here again but next time more then two nights!

Very private location, especially in mid-April with not a single soul on the lake. The house was beautiful and spotless. We had a great time lounging on the deck and enjoying Ely. One note - it is a trek up the hill to the parking space, and be aware that there are quite a few steps down to the door. It was good exercise for us in our early 60's after a long MN winter, but might be problematic for people with mobility issues.

What a beautiful cabin right on the water. It was so quiet and peaceful. Our boys really enjoyed the bunkhouse too.

We had a great time on Lake Vermilion at the water’s edge cabin. Being so close to the lake while eating dinner on a beautiful dining room table is quite a treat! One of the best VRBOs for being in a great fishing location as well.

Our family has rented several homes/cabins throughout the US for our vacations. While this was a short extended weekend trip, it was an amazing property, it is now at the top of our list for wanting to go back.
The minute you arrive and take in the scenery you realize that is it better than the listing pictures can convey. Then you walk in the front door and it is just warm and welcoming! It was clean, well stocked with the essentials for making it feel like you were right at home. They even had extra items on-hand for use if needed. Kitchen was perfect for making big meals and the large dining table was also perfect for meals as well as cards and games they have on hand for use.
You are so close to the lake that the view makes it feel like you are right on the water. While we were there in the winter, I can only image the sound of the waves hitting the rock along shore in the summer is a treat as well.
The owners even took the time to reach out while we were there to see if we had any questions. Hospitality at it's finest.

Our stay here at Jeffs cabin was wonderful. My friends and I have been renting Vrbos for the past few years for our ice fishing trips, and this was by far the nicest cabin thus far. Our hosts were gracious, friendly accommodating. We will certainly be renting here again. Highly recommend this cabin and these hosts for and ice fishing or snow mobile trip. Thank you for a great weekend!
