That it was downtown .
Hot water in the shower didn’t work for first 24 hours . When we got there the hallway smelled like weed and cigarettes . The room smelled like an ashtray. The hallway eventually smelled better but the room never did . I let the host know via text . Got a physical letter in our room when they were fixing the hot water for no smoking but we don’t smoke, so I was like WTF. We were there for a wrestling tournament . Cigarettes and no hot water in no good. I still have not been refunded my deposit either.

There was no breakfast which I like, as I am not an early riser. I liked the central location, with a lot of buses nearby, the cooking facilities, and the big utility area with the washing machine and dryer. the short walking distance to the Sculpture Park and the main library and the proximity to QwikTrip convenience store. The apartment was clean and comfortable. I liked the fact that one could walk to downtown Des Moines, and to the river.
This is not the fault of the owners but there which roadworks outside starting at 7.15 am. This is why I didn't rate our stay as excellent. (My assessment is of our experience, even if any negatives were not the fault of the proprietors). Also, the people in the apartment above us seemed to be shifting furniture throughout the night and during the day. When the roadworks are finished, I think the Argonne Apartment building will be a fabulous place to stay, especially if someone can speak with the people above our apartment and ask them to be quieter. We are not light sleepers so this didn't ruin our stay, but some would have been kept awake by this.
The proprietors seemed to be nice people to interact with, although we only did so by email and messaging.
