Beautiful location - remote but not difficult to get to. Very quiet, with a beautiful house, and Nicky and Simon looked after us wonderfully.
Nothing we didn’t like - very accommodating and homely.

The property is set in a beautiful location ideal for exploring the surrounding area. It has lots of character. The hosts were friendly and made tea on arrival. The rooms were pleasantly furnished and there was plenty of hot water. There was a separate lounge with lovely views from the windows and a kitchen area with plenty of mugs and a fridge.
The service and attention to detail in the rooms was below par. There were used mini toiletries, remnants of pot pourri in a bowl, a towel rail that fell off the wall when touched, a damp patch by the radiator and there were no welcoming treats eg biscuits. The bed although lovely was uncomfortable as it had raised metal sides. Also the dogs were sometimes left unattended which made us nervous.

An amazing place to stay. Such a beautiful building with stunning character in a tranquil setting & a great base to visit places like Lulworth Cove. Nicky & Simon are thoroughly lovely people & such natural hosts & nothing is too much trouble. The comfiest bed we’ve ever slept in and breakfast was incredible. We will definitely be back. Cannot recommend enough.

Breakfast was excellent, Nicki was an excellent host she went out of her way to ensure you had everything you could want, local produce food was amazing👍
There was nothing we didn't like, the location and hospitality was excellent.

Steeped in history, homely and comfortable.
Nothing.

Wonderful rural Dorset location. Short walk to the nearest restaurant. A historic property with great views . Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Nothing to write here.

Perfect location to relax and unwind.

Lovely building, full of history. Very welcoming owners that were so helpful.
Better signage to the property. Already discussed with owner and on their 'to do' list!
4.7
Lots of history and atmosphere.
Rather steep stairs.

Woken at 6am by owners’ barking dog. Couldn’t get back to sleep. V annoying as this is a v quiet place otherwise, no traffic noise whatsoever, in the middle of nowhere, with beautiful countryside. Only accessible by car. Really spoilt my stay as arrived home very tired.
Rather weak coffee (cafetière). Over £100 but not en suite.

The setting was beautiful and the building was lovely.
The staff were so friendly and helpful and we had a lovely breakfast.
It would have been nice to have Tea and Coffee facilities in the room but there were facilities on the landing shared with one other guest.
4.7
A beautiful genuine old manor house and chapel, in superb countryside. If you love dogs their Collie loves it if you can throw sticks for it, while you sit and admire the view. Friendly hosts and good room
The only minor problem was a lack of Three mobile signal. But as the Manor is deep in the middle of the countryside surrounded by hills, that was not a surprise. It would be a bonus if you are trying to get away from Work.

Amazing location , lovely hosts
No GF cereal provided

Amazing breakfast
In the country side
Hosts were really friendly and you could tell how passionate they are about their farm and their cows and new calves.
Had some difficulty with the wifi/ phone signal but not a big issue

excellent location.

The room was delightful and the building itself is very impressive - including its own private chapel. We received a very warm welcome from Nicky and Simon and were made to feel very much at home. Breakfast was delicious.
4.7
As an animal lover, I enjoyed that it was a working farm as well as a manor house. The hosts were also very kind and welcoming. We had an excellent bike ride in the vicinity as well.

Try to keep this winning formula going .
Absolutely nothing.

A beautiful, Grade 1 listed house in a stunning location. The hostess was delightful (as were the dogs, cats and horses). The house is now the centre of a working farm, which just added to the fun as far as we were concerned. And a couple of miles away is a pub (The Fox) with friendly staff and good food. We only stayed for a single night, but intend to return for a longer visit when possible.

Owners were charming. Breakfast was lovely and mostly from their own farm or surrounding farms. Beautiful house and farm/estate.
WiFi is non existent in the whole area and mobile phone service is sketchy at best. If you don't have to get on line or make calls (and why would you - relax for Goodness sake?), it's perfect. Bedrooms should have their own tv.
4.7
The setting is absolutely stunning. The owners are lovely and friendly. Rooms are clean, tidy and well appointed, with views over the surrounding countryside. Great breakfast as well. Its a lovely walk into the village if you want food or a drink at The Fox in the evening. In summary, a lovely place to stay and good value for money.
4.7
Extremely friendly hosts who treat you like one of the family. The Manor is set in a lovely location with two local pubs who served great meals.

Gorgeous location with lovely gardens & views. The room & facilities were clean & comfortable all within a wonderful historical listed house. Nicky & Simon are outstanding hosts who went the extra mile to make my stay memorable. There are plenty of walks starting from the property along with several good pubs close by. Highly recommended, & look forward to my next visit.
I wasn’t there long enough

Everything was perfect for us - welcome, location, high standard of bedroom and bathroom furnishings, breakfast, kind accommodating hosts, amazing building and history.
It was all even better than we expected
4.7
Great family run establishment very friendly owners.
4.7
The breakfast was exceptional. The hosts made us feel like we were part of their family home. The two dogs were also very friendly.
4.7
Very quiet location - no disturbance, starry skies. The accommodation was a historic former manor house. Good views - fields, woodland and hills. There were several footpaths for the keen walker. Within half-hour drive were Dorchester, Cerne Abbas and a number of villages tucked away in the Dorset downlands. The Jurassic coast (eg Weymouth and Lulworth) an hour away.
The quiet location meant that the nearest few miles were of narrow roads and a need for careful driving. Little public transport.
4.7
Nice Breakfast plenty of options.
Beautiful location friendly people and as I booked very last minute it was very nice and relaxing.
4.7
Fresh Breakfast made by the owner, very friendly.
4.7
Very helpful and friendly owner who went out of her way to accommodate. Interesting tours and stories/conversations. Breakfast was nice with prepared fruit and a croissant on top of cereals and a cooked breakfast. Location was in the middle of the countryside. Very spacious house and grounds. Had a sense of freedom.
No "game changers", but a few minor things. There was no key for the single room. They had dogs in the house, but they do shut them away if you don't like dogs. If you like dogs though, you can play with them. Another review mentioned no drink trays in the room as there is a separate kitchen - I did have a drinks tray, but no milk on the tray and the milk in the kitchen had nearly run out. The owner will go out of her way to sort out anything though. They are busy farmers and very down to earth type of people, so expect a different and more natural experience compared with a formal five star hotel.

The farm location and friendliness of owners Simon and Nicky.
Tea making facilities on the shared landing. I think we could have disturbed other guests first thing in the morning. Would like kettle etc. in the room.
4.7
It actually felt like a warmest home away from home. Nicky is just the best host ever. The farm itself and the location are totally mind blowing! Bed was super comfortable.
Nothing really
4.7
It was a beautiful ancient Manor House that felt warm & welcoming, just like the hosts. Clean & comfortable with a delicious breakfast included. It was set in the most gorgeous countryside with great walks from the door, and also a reasonable drive to the coast - a fantastic place to stay!
We would have preferred tea-making facilities within the room rather than the shared kitchenette, but that’s just our preference.
