About this apartment rental
Summary:
Welcome to Terlingua's newest and most luxurious property, Stardust Big Bend. A-Frame #9 accommodates 4 people. The location is central, 5 minutes from the national park and Ghosttown, on the main highway. Each cabin has a full kitchen with all cooking essentials. A wrap-around deck on three sides with patio furniture, a covered pergola, & a firepit. We have a clubhouse with a pool table, air hockey, foosball, arcades, darts & more. We have 11 rentals in total for large groups to stay together.
The Space:
The A-Frame Cabin has a bedroom, living room, full kitchen, and full bathroom. It comfortably accommodates 4 people but we can provide a floor mattress for the 5th person for an extra charge if needed (will be tight). Please message us after booking if you are bringing a 5th person. On the outside, we have a wrap-around deck on three sides and a firepit where you can sit and have one of the best stargazing experiences in the world.
We are located on the main road through the town (Hwy 170). We are 5 minutes from the entrance of the national park and 5 minutes from the ghost town. The gas station, grocery store, tour companies, and restaurants are all within 5 minutes.
The bedroom has a queen bed with a very comfortable mattress. We provide both soft and firm pillows. There is a reading light on top of the bed. There is a lounge chair in the corner. A small closet has cloth hangers, a luggage rack, an iron, an ironing board, and a full-length mirror on the door. The front wall is all glass from which you get an unparalleled view of the majestic Chisos mountains in the National Park.
The living room has a very comfortable sleeper sofa from West Elm that converts into a queen bed. There is a coffee table with some books, trail maps, etc. Opposite to that, we have two armchairs. There is a smart TV mounted on the wall, with all your favorite apps like Netflix, Hulu, Disney, ESPN, etc. There is a small dining table with two chairs in front of the TV. The same table can be used as a workspace for remote work.
There is a full kitchen with a cooktop, microwave dishwasher, fridge, freezer, sink, slice toaster, air fryer/toaster oven, electric kettle, and pour-over coffee maker. We provide pots, pans, utensils, and cutlery.
The washroom has a shower, marble vanity, and a wall-mounted toilet. We provide a hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and lotion.
On the outside, we have a hammock and a sofa dining set under a covered pergola. The pergola has louvers that can be opened or closed depending on the weather. It also has a screen that can be pulled down for shade. In front of the A-Frame, we have two Adirondack chairs that you can sit in and enjoy the magnificent view of the Chisos mountains. There is also a firepit with four benches around it.
We have a huge shared clubhouse. The clubhouse has a professional pool table, huge air hockey table, foosball, arcades with thousands of retro games, darts, board games and more. When you are done with the hiking and exploring, the clubhouse is an excellent way to have some indoor fun. It is especially useful to keep the kids entertained.
Guest Access:
You will be given the door code to enter your unit. You have access to the entire A-Frame, the outside patio, the firepit, and the clubhouse. Please stay on the walkways and don't wander off the walkways or near other cabins to give everyone their privacy.
The Neighborhood:
Well, we are in the desert. There is not much of a neighborhood as we have vast empty spaces around us, yet close to the park and restaurants. The Ghost Town is 3 mins away, Big Bend National Park is 5 mins, Lajitas is 15 mins. There are very few properties nearby. The back side of our property has Cigar Mountain, there is only one vacation rental on it that is visible from the property. Other than that you have unrestricted views of Big Bend National Park, Chisos Mountains, Santa Elena Canyon and other nearby mountains.
Getting Around:
A car is essential to get around. Some businesses in town offer jeep rentals for your off-roading adventures
Other Things to Note:
Please specify the correct number of people when booking. Up to 4 people are included in the listing cost and will be comfortable in the space. If you want to bring a 5th person, please be aware that you will be very tight. There is a $35 charge for the 5th person per night. We will provide a floor mattress. If we discover you brought extra people (through staff reports or cameras), we will charge $70 per person per night.
Pets are not allowed. If we do find out you brought a pet (which we almost always do when guests try to break the rules), there will be $199 extra cleaning fee and any damage by the pet will also be charged to your card.
Also, please review the pictures carefully. We have 11 cabins. All the A-frames have similar interiors and comparable views outside. We use the pictures interchangeably between the A-Frames. Most of the exterior pictures are labeled showing the A-Frame they were taken at and we also have a picture showing the aerial view of the property showing the location and proximity of each cabin relative to others.
