About this apartment rental
Make this cozy Sunnyside studio your homebase. The 7 train (2 blocks away) will get you to Manhattan in ~15 minutes.
As the unit is on the ground floor, you won’t have to wait for the elevators or use the stairs everyday.
Everything you need to eat, drink, and shop is within a 3-10 minute stroll.
Walk outside the building and you will immediately see on your right Lou Lodati Park, which is well beloved by dogs, kids, and adults alike. This area along leafy Skillman Avenue is also the proud weekly host of a farmer’s market -- check it out here: https://www.grownyc.org/greenmarket/queens/sunnyside
Within a few minutes, you will walk past more cafes, restaurants, bars, and boutique stores than you ever need. You will find everything from organic coffee and Korean BBQ to microbrewery, quaint Irish pubs, and eclectic arts stores. Judging by how often you see kids and dogs run around these well-kept streets at all hours, you can be sure that, not only is this area safe, but it is also very pleasant to wander around.
This studio apartment remains very well-maintained as it has not been rented out. The owner has been living here and taking good care of it. You will have access to the entire apartment with the exception of the owner's small closet.
* Additional notes on transportation: Besides the 7 train, you may take the buses outside the subway station, and/or combine the 7 train and buses with the E, M, R, N, and W trains nearby. In case you love bike riding, you are in for a treat as Sunnyside is among New York City’s most bicycle-friendly neighborhoods -- check it out here: https://streeteasy.com/blog/biking-in-new-york-the-citys-8-best-neighborhoods-for-cyclists/ Some Sunnysiders CitiBike to work; please feel free to join them!
* Additional notes on the studio: Spectrum (www.spectrum.com) is included for high-speed Wi-Fi and TV (though there is no physical TV set included). You may need to install your own AC, too, if needed. Foldaway guest bed is included for your convenience. Wash & dry is not in the unit, but it is in the building (you may take elevator to basement).
* Additional notes on the kitchen: separated from the studio and bathroom, and fully equipped with a gas stove, oven, pots & pans, utensils & cutleries, plates & bowls, etc. but no slice toaster or microwave or dishwasher. Your grocery shopping options within walking distance include two Key Foods, a Japanese grocery store, the popular Korean H Mart, Eastern European shops, plus literally everything in between. Enjoy the thriving representation of diverse cultures around here!
* Additional notes on location: Designed in the early 20th century as one of America's first planned communities, with Irish roots as a historic Irish enclave, Sunnyside today oozes a rare blend of old world charm and an up and coming, modern vibe. You will find that this is a high and dry location; there was no flooding or power outage even during the worst of Superstorm Sandy. Relative to the overall neighborhood, this particular building sits at the heart of it all – i.e., within the square between Queens Boulevard and Skillman Avenue, running from 41st to 46th street.
Overall, this is an ideal setting for a young professional or couple, or visitor seeking a medium-term home away from home. If you want a hassle-free living style in a desirable neighborhood, this opportunity offers the perfect balance of classic New York City vibrancy and local neighborhood flavors.
We would be happy to tailor a flexible multi-month lease term to match your own interim housing, summer internship, or other purposes. As we are looking for a minimum three-month stay, we currently do not accommodate monthly requests, unfortunately.
Please let us know ( below) if you need anything else or have any clarifying questions.
Cheers!
