Reviewer Comments:
The layout of the house was perfect for our family. The kitchen was VERY well stocked. Furniture all very comfortable. For a house that holds that many people out really should have 2 fridges and a bigger dishwasher. And my grandkids said a house named flamingo should be pink not yellow. Situated perfectly near the beach access. Some deferred maintenance. We had to change the air duct filters- they were caked. And the AC stopped and required cleaning while we were there. But overall a VERY comfortable and convenient vacation stay. We would definitely book again.

Our family has been staying at this home for quite some time. We absolutely love it there. However, the constant price increases year after year are becoming unjustified. The appliances (stove, tv’s) are outdated. There have been some new updates (some flooring and decor), but we are not sure it is worth the drastic price increase we have seen the last few years.

Reviewer Comments:
This was my 4th year in this house. House changed ownership 2 years ago and honestly has just gotten worse while the pricing has dramatically ($6,000+) increased. Check in was at 4, but cleaning crew didn't show up until 3:54, so we couldn't start to unpack until around 4:45. There were several 4 foot tall weeds around the pool area (I have pictures). The pool couldn't be cleaned because the filter suction system was barely working. The outside area as a whole was just bad. The house itself is a great house, big, spacious, nice floor plan etc. Location is great, but we have booked another house for next year. Way better options out there for your money. In fact, I have found the exact same floor plan 6 streets down for $2K less and completely upgraded on everything from the pool outside to appliances, tables, counters etc. on the inside. 4 Years ago, this was a great house, but find something else and I'd recommend managed by someone other than Garden City Realty...Management literally hung up on me when I called to share my frustrations. For the money they charge for a peak week, you should get much better customer service and amenities.

Reviewer Comments:
We have stayed at this property for the past 10 years. We love the location and lay-out of the house. However, we were disappointed this year in the overall condition and upkeep of the property. Shrubs were very overgrown, we found random screws on the back steps, there were big pieces of paint chips all over the ground, the main doorknob was very loose, smoke detector in a bedroom was hanging down, some tub drains were very slow to drain, there were pieces of chips and cookies under some of the furniture. The kid's feet were black on the bottom after walking barefoot on the tile. There were multiple ant piles and trails of ants outside on the columns, and several cockroaches were seen. Several in our party came home covered in bug bites- not sure what type they were. Mattresses are not very comfortable, and haven't been changed since we begin staying there 10 years ago. New bunk beds were very uncomfortable, and those staying on those had to use two mattresses to be comfortable. We did enjoy the new fence and love the LVP flooring. However, in the upstairs King bedroom, the transition piece into the bathroom had a big gap. We made the hard decision to not return to this property next year, even though we would have preferred to. Check-in and staff at Garden City were great to work with, and when we reported a broken toaster, it was replaced very promptly.

It was ok. Ownership has changed, and had a pretty drastic price increase, but then seemed to cut some corners with cleaning, pool cleaning etc. They are also battling a colony of bats in the attic, but they did tell us beforehand. This was our third year in this home, and we love the home, but it could use a little touching up. Fridge drawer was broke, lots of roaches, very dirty under furniture etc. For the price increase, we should feel a little better taken care of. We did rebook again for next year. Going to give the new owners their full offseason to see if they can tidy up the place a bit more.

This is the second time my family of 15 ( children and grandchildren) have stayed at this property. It is a perfect location and space for our family. We love Surfside and this home. It is clean and very comfortable. There are a few upgrades they could make. For instance better tvs but we were there for the beach and great family time. Also the blinds in 3rd floor bedroom need replaced. There is nothing that wouldn’t keep us from coming back. Great vacation experience.

It’s a beautiful home that can accommodate a large group. However the home is infested with bats in the attic. We had bats get in the vent in the upstairs bathroom and they were not able to remove it. A bat was removed from another bathroom vent before our arrival. The smell on the 3rd floor was distinct and horrible. A bat flew on the front balcony, hit the window and laid in the deck. Another night a bat few into the pool area. Mating season is from April 15-August 15th and they say they can’t do anything until after that. I personally don’t think the homeowner should be renting the home.

This was our first trip to SC and we traveled with another family and wanted to ensure we had enough space. The flamingo was everything we could have wanted and more. Location was perfect with a peek a boo view of the waves, super convenient beach access, and a pool for when you want to relax and float. House was clean, well kept, and exactly like the pictures. Nice appliances and plenty of kitchen tools were a nice bonus! Also, I forgot a few things when we left and the property management company helped find them, and shipped them to us.
