About this house rental
Merlin’s stables is a newly renovated 300 year old barn in Brill, a picturesque village set in Buckinghamshire, well known for its historic windmill. A spacious Countryside retreat with the original stable dividers is so inviting with a large open feel, houses a living room, reading room, dining room, large kitchen and laundry room equipped with washer and dryer. Three bedrooms sleeping six comprising of two singles, one double and a king sized bed. Full use of a private garden and parking.
The space
Being a Grade II listed property of historical interest, the layout of Merlins' Stables is naturally very unique and quirky, maintaining all of its original features including the individual stable dividers, oak beams and restored brickwork.
As you enter the property, you are greeted by an open plan layout with two private bedrooms on the ground floor. The master king bedroom with ensuite can be found on the first floor using the beautiful handmade spiral staircase.
The remainder of the ground floor is 'open plan' stable-like. Renovated to an incredibly high standard with only the best quality fixtures and fittings used. The kitchen is handmade and sits timelessly within one of the stable nooks.
There are an array original features dotted all over the building that have been restored showing just what it would have been like 300 years ago. Other features include a stunning hand-crafted dining table and benches made from a single slab of local oak - a beautiful example of local craftsmanship.
This property is one that need to be experienced in person to appreciate the magnitude of building work involved in bringing Merlin's Stables into the 21st century. This is one not to be missed if you love staying in places with lots of historical character, charm and luxury.
