We were several friends and family staying here and other places, but this was the perfect landing place for everyone to eat, swim, play volleyball, enjoy. It never felt crowded. Well appointed with pool and beach toys, chairs, towels. The place was super clean. Only a few small suggestions that I sent that would make it just perfect (TVs in all rooms would give kids some separate space in the evenings, for instance).
The location was just perfect in my opinion. We went to Starfish Point regularly and ate in some wonderful restaurants nearby. We all loved Chisholm’s market - great meat pie! However, the location is quite far from “town” if you’re wanting more shopping and activity that you can get in a city or tourist area. This was just set apart and the perfect place to just relax and be with family!
If we are back in the Caymans, this is where we will be. I would not hesitate to recommend anyone book this!

My wife and I were married in Grand Cayman years ago, and took our four children back with their spouses. I must say this was the very best stay we’ve ever had at Grand Cayman. Reef Romance was incredible snorkeling is some of the best on the island and we will definitely be making Reef Romance our Beach house we stay at from now on. 🙏

This house was just as stated. We had 10 people and everything was amazing. We all enjoyed the pool, beach, and large living areas. The bedrooms were ideal for 5 couples. We will definitely plan to stay again.

This property was absolutely perfect for five couples to steal away for a tropical retreat. We were able to relax, play, and enjoy the island. The property is well thought out, well stocked, and I would absolutely stay again. The pictures don’t do it justice.

Our review of this property was going to be "glowing" until we discovered that part of our security deposit was withheld without explanation. After reaching out to the property manager, we were told that a decorative wooden fish was broken, but after days of going back & forth with the property manager without a clear answer, we've given up. Bottom line is that we did NOT break anything and it's frustrating that after spending a great deal of money to rent the house and leaving in in excellent condition, the benefit of the doubt goes to the cleaning crew.
That said, here's our review of Reef Romance which was home base for our fabulous week on Grand Cayman Island.
PROS:
The house was clean, beds were comfortable, kitchen was well-equipped.
We were grateful that a small bag of charcoal was supplied for our first night as we forgot to purchase charcoal on our first trip to the grocery store.
The house has plenty of towels, beach and bath.
The views from the house are spectacular.
Great to have pool and tiki bar.
CONS:
Beside the petty quibble over the broken fish or turtle, the most disappointing part of the trip was the unbelievable amount of garbage that had washed up on the beach in front of the house. Manager said it had been cleared recently, but it piled up daily and made it difficult to get out to enjoy the water. We understand it is not the fault of the owners that this tragic result of human wastefulness washes up on their beach at this time of year, but renters should be aware that it is NOT a nice sandy beach where kids could play at the shoreline. You also can't walk the beach very far in either direction - too much garbage and seaweed piled up made it impossible. We found everything from flip flops to hypodermic needles - very sad.
WI-FI was spotty at best - it was impossible for anyone to connect and get any work done.
Games were locked in a closet.
Unsure of the value the "Silver Thatch" membership provided for the mandatory $800 charge. Gym was not quite ready to use, but we used the WI-Fi access a few times. As far as discounts go, only one restaurant that we went to accepted the card - many of the places at Rum Point, most convenient to our location, did not recognize the membership. A few maintenance issues: broken toilet , air conditioner malfunctioned and backed up sink. The manager sent someone to take care of these issues. Cleaning crew showed up over an hour early and stood in driveway.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Reef Romance. The house is laid out perfectly with 5 bedrooms, each with their own private bathroom.
The weather during our stay included 4 days of 20 MPH winds or greater. Some of my comments may be the result of that weather, others are not.
The outside bar was used only briefly. We utilized the refrigerator for overflow beverages. We didn't use the Kegorater which was taped shut, probably due to easily being blown open by the strong winds that this side of the island incur this time of year (February). We used the outside TV once after figuring out how to turn it on (instructions are provided, but difficult to follow). It appeared to us that you can either have the TV on out by the bar or in the living room, not both at the same time. When the wind was really blowing, the outside bar was not conducive to using.
Again, probably due to the wind, there was a lot of seaweed that washed up on our beach during our visit. You had to step over it to get into the water. In addition to the seaweed, a lot of trash was washing up as well. We did spend some time in the water just outside the house, but several in our party balked at having to step over the several feet of seaweed that had washed up over the windy days.
We didn't utilize the volleyball court, again due to the wind. The sand outside the house contains some corral and rocks, so it really wouldn't be great for playing volleyball barefoot. Probably would need to wear shoes to be safe.
We purchased a Bocci ball set from a local sports company and played that often. That was not a problem in the wind.
The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, plates, bowls, glasses, etc. The only issue we had with the kitchen is that there are a large number of knives available, but none of them are very sharp. We did a lot of cooking while on the island and we had some difficulty cutting even an onion with the knives available. Not a big deal, just worth mentioning.
We didn't discover this until the day before we were leaving. There are some puzzles in the master bedroom chest of drawers, bottom drawer. There are also books under the sink in the 1/2 bath. It would be nice if there was an information book about things in the house, restaurant recommendations, places to visit, etc., rather than just instructions on how to use the TV.
The location is very private. We would definitely stay at this location again.

Fun location, beautiful, but windy and trash prone North side beach, but plenty of sand to enjoy. House is very nice, not luxurious, but very clean and comfortable. Tv reception in bedroooms poor, but main room excellent. Kitchen could use some additional and upgraded cookware, no casseroles or glass bakeware to speak of. Grill is charcoal. Hot water and water pressure is great. Pool is clean and nice. Individual bedrooms are private and excellent.

We had 5 adults who were fortunate enough to book this place last minute after Irma changed our original plans for Tortola. We did take a few days out of the week to see some of the sights that Grand Cayman offers like star fish point and sting ray city and bioluminescent tours but the days we stayed at the house were just as great. We had basically our own private beach and saw star fish and sting rays out in the water. We brought bocce ball with us and enjoyed playing that out on the beach. We had a chef cook and private yoga and private massages without leaving the house. Roy was a pleasure to work with. The house is quite a haul from main grocery stores but it's nice being away from it all. The best bargain meal was Kurt's Corner. We also ate at Kaibo and Over the Edge for closer meals. The house is well stocked with spices and kitchen utensils and towels.

The property was ideal for our group of five couples and we highly recommend it. It offered a roomy gathering area on the ground floor, and five spacious private king bedrooms/bathrooms with ocean views, all set on a beautiful stretch of ocean. The villa is set back a bit from the road and has an empty lot on one side, making it very quiet and private. In addition to the master king suite on the ground floor, there is a half bath and a laundry room stocked with many beach towels. There is also an outdoor shower and a half bath at the pool cabana, making it very convenient to avoid tracking sand into the house. We also found useful the charcoal grill, a small outdoor refrigerator, and a pony kegerator. There were plenty of lounges/chairs for all ten of us to relax around the pool and on the beach. The villa is only a short distance to activities and Red Sail Sports at Rum Point, as well as several restaurants serving scrumptious lunches, dinners, and Sunday brunches [Kaibo Beach Bar & Grill, Rum Point Club Restaurant, Over the Edge, Kurt's Corner (hidden behind Water Boyz liquor store), Tukka, The Lighthouse]. After picking up our rental vehicles at the airport (Marshall's was great), we picked up groceries at Foster's IGA and a pony keg at the Cayman Brewery (nice assortment of beer options) on our way from the airport. (To save some money, pick up your duty free liquor at the airport before leaving on your flight to Grand Cayman.) Chisholm's groceries (quickmart style) is just down the road from the villa, which came in handy a few times, and it now has Sunday hours. Just pack your clothes and sunscreen, and come relax and enjoy this fabulous, comfortable home with spectacular views!

We came down to Grand Cayman for the first time with our family (kids all 20+), parents, sister and a few significant others. I did lots of research to try and find the right place on the island, and the right house. The area up by Rum Point is so nice and away from the resort strip that makes up 7 mile beach. You don't have to worry about the cruise ship crowds on this part of the island.
The house was on a nice spot on the beach with neighboring houses on one side (there was an empty lot on the other side with trash that it would have been nice to have someone clean up). The pool being on the beach side of the house was great so even when you were swimming in the pool you had the ocean in front of you. It was a little windy but the breeze actually kept it cool enough to be outside all the time. You do need water shoes or snorkel gear if you are going to go out more than 10-20 yards in the ocean because there are coral and other things that could spoil your trip if you step on them bare footed, but if you need a white sandy beach Rum Point and Starfish beach are only a couple of miles away, and there is no wind on the part of the point. The lack of wind was actually a little stifling so we are glad we had it most days.
This house is as it looks in the pictures except the living room picture is old and doesn't show the outside patio/Tiki bar expansion through the windows that you see in other shots. The TV outside at the Tiki bar doesn't work but who needs outside TV at the beach. There is a kegorator and wine refrigerator at the outside bar. We spent most days doing short day trips to other beaches to snorkel or sight see, then would come back to the house for a relaxing late afternoon swim and beach before grilling out for dinner. Our bed was in bad shape and dipped to the middle which I didn't like, but everyone else said theirs was good. I would certainly recommend this house as a place for a big family or group of friends. 5 master suites all with their own bathrooms, and a pool right on the beach is pretty nice! Not sure why there have not been more recent reviews, people where there right before us also.

We travelled to Cayman Island with a group of friends (mostly couples) and had the most amazing time. The home is beautiful and the location is perfect. The pictures here are accurate but somehow they still don't capture the size and beauty of the house. The price of the rental cannot be beat, we definitely got our money's worth! The house has everything you need and there was no reason to leave it with the ocean view, sandy beach, and pool. It is close to Rum Point so you can take advantage of the water sports. We will definitely be back and will recommend to anyone who asks!!

The place was great for a family like ours. We had a total of 9 and the arrangement of the house was perfect. The place was clean and we really enjoyed the pool. There was a glitch with the air conditioning which was fixed within hours, which was very impressive. We would highly recommend it.

The house was everything we hoped for and more!! The bedrooms were exceptional: large and perfect for 5 couples, furnitures quality was very nice, decorating was perfect for our taste and would love this at home.
We had to really look to find homes with no twin beds. This was perfect.
The furnishings and all the ammenities were just like the pictures.
I would vacation here again, no questions.
Jim was wonderful to work with!
I strongly suggest using the grocery shopping service, prior to your arrival. It was worth it and made our home vacation ready the minute we walked in.
