About this house rental
Set on the edge of the River Yare, this recently renovated, stylish and comfortable cottage is perfect for a retreat on the Norfolk Broads with family or friends. It’s set in the heart of Reedham village with a pretty quay lined with moored boats, traditional cottages, and delightful riverside pubs. You can explore the local area on scenic walks and cycle routes that start just moments from the cottage. It is also a perfect location for exploring the Broads, with the village offering many all-weather activities including boat and bike hire. The Reedham Vehicular Ferry is a unique way of exploring further afield, stopping by the towns of Beccles and Bungay, both a 30-mile drive. Other local attractions include nearby Pettitts Animal and Adventure Park (1 mile) and the RSPB reserve at Strumpshaw Fen (7 miles). Or head to Africa Alive Zoo, Somerleyton Hall with its maze and gardens, Bewilderwood, and The Time and Tide Museum (all within 22 miles).
As you cross the road from the off-road parking and step into the cottage, you immediately find yourself in the entrance area, perfect for leaving coats and shoes at the door. From here, you’ll then step through into the living area, a warm and welcoming room with a comfortable, L-shaped sofa, Smart TV and wood burner – perfect for relaxing in front of crackling flames. Next up is the lovely kitchen and dining area. The modern and stylish kitchen is well-equipped allowing guests to create a range of meals if they don’t feel like eating out. The dining space is light, airy and overlooks the pretty rear garden. At the foot of the stairs there is also the downstairs cloakroom which houses the washing machine. At the very top of the stairs, you will find the shower room and, opposite this, is the first of the bedrooms which is the twin bedroom. Beyond the landing space is an additional corridor, at the end of which you will find the master bedroom with a comfortable king-sized bed and en-suite bathroom with bath and separate shower. Next door is the single bedroom with a pull out trundle bed offering you the option of accommodating two guests in this room if required, please request this set-up when making your booking. At the other end of the corridor is another charming king-sized bedroom. All the rooms have been lovingly finished and furnished with antique furniture throughout to create a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere.
To the front of the property there is a small, enclosed patio space. To the rear of the property, you’ll find a good-sized patio garden with garden furniture and brick-built pizza oven, as well as steps up to an additional patio area.
