Would not stay again. staff was friendly but room was old, carpets were dirty in the hallways and furniture was damaged and dirty. Ceiling in bathroom had water damage and mold.

On Hotels.com, the listed pet fee for the hotel stated $15 a night for our small dog. It's the main reason we picked this place. At check in they demanded $75 for the pet fee. They were painting the halways so there was paint all over the carpets and heavy odor of paint fumes. I cant sleep without a fan, and there was none to be found. Front desk suggested i open the window instead, it coule only be opened less than an inch at most.

Hotel was under restoration, but the problem was at 7:30 and after the construction worker was working right in front of my door making scrapping and hammering noises.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Courtyard was a nice space as was the common areas. Room could have been cleaner but was spacious. Great for families with children or large groups. Living room furniture in unit needs to be updated or at least cleaned. Downfall would be the outdoor pool in inclement weather.

We stayed at this hotel on two different occasions because it’s the only hotel with a king and two fulls, but each time it got grosser. I’m no prude, but the rooms needed fussier cleaning. The floors weren’t mopped; housekeeping completely overlooked a spilled box of Nerds over and under the refrigerator; and food-caked dishes were put back on the shelves! The second time we booked the hotel, it was having drywall renovations done on the third floor corridor, but they still put us up there! With constructions workers sanding drywall, drywall dust got on everything and we couldn’t help breathing it in. We had to dodge shopvacs, extension cords, and tarps strewn about in order to get to our room. When we entered, our luggage wheels brought in lines of drywall dust. This place wants to turn rooms over too quickly, so the deep and necessary cleaning isn’t happening. But this place also suffers from enough greed that it would put customers at risk in order to get more money. They should have made the third floor off-limits! Their saving grace is that they put us on the second floor after I complained, but I never got reimbursed for the more expensive room I booked on the third floor.

Elevator was out. Hallways are stifling hot. Room was partially dirty (needed to be swept/vacuumed). Appliances old, lackluster kitchen amenities. Over these low priorities for Staybridge. We gave it one more shot for the brand and we won’t be back.

The room lacked of a proper maintenance: Ceiling damage not fixed, pain stained on the floor kitchen, the closet’s doors broken, safe box pin lock unreliable (have to ask to reset twice in less than 3 days), and poor room daily cleaning services. Other than the mentioned issues, all the rest was average.

Great breakfast buffet but that was the best thing about the stay. Pool and hot tub looked nice but bc they were outside and it was raining we didnt get to use them. We went out to the zoo and got back around 11pm and us and another car were circling the parking lot over and bc there were no parking spots. There were lots of kids running around and being loud and loud above my room early in the morning. And one kid burned hersellf on coffee at breakfast bc her parents werent paying attention. The sofa bed was not comfy and only big enough for one person. The light from the curtains was at a bad angle bc of the way the bed was situated. Even though the breakfast was good and the check in girl was very nice. I didnt like anything else we had to deal with. Ive stayed different places in grand rapids and liked other hotels better. Prob wont be going to this one again.

Bathroom needs updates. Rust around the toilet. Carpet stained and in the bedrooms taped down. There was rust in the shower. There were homeless people in the parking lot living in their car.

Was a nice stay. When I originally went to check in the room wasn't ready due to maintenance needing to repair something but it was a short wait. However getting to the room, the dishwasher was going and just dumping soapy water all over the floor. Housekeeping was quick to clean it up however. The room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was delicious.

The continental breakfast was great, the staff I dealt with were friendly and solved the problem I addressed. The floor in the room could have been cleaner, it was not filthy but there was dirt and dust on the floor. Could use some updating in the room, just looked old and kind of tired and felt like it was way overpriced for the quality of the room we got.

Staybridge Suites Grand Rapids: Spacious Suites, Stellar Gym, But One Annoying Hiccup
We recently stayed at the Staybridge Suites in Grand Rapids, Michigan with our family of 6 for a debate tournament. While we were primarily out and about for the competition, the hotel provided a comfortable and convenient home base for our busy schedule.
Spacious Suites: The two-bedroom suite was fantastic! It offered plenty of space for our family to spread out. We appreciated having two full bathrooms, which helped us get ready quickly in the mornings. Plus, the 1/2 kitchen was perfect for storing snacks and drinks, and came in handy for light meals after long days. The TV was a nice way to unwind in the evenings.
Fantastic Gym: A big highlight of our stay was the hotel gym. It was truly the best we've ever seen in a hotel! They had a wide variety of dumbbells, a treadmill, an elliptical, and ample space for floor exercises like jumping jacks. This was a lifesaver for staying active during our busy trip.
Good Breakfast & Service: The breakfast was good, with a variety of options to suit different tastes. The service staff were friendly and helpful.
Trash Issue: The only real downside to our stay was that housekeeping never came to take out the trash during our entire 4-day stay. This resulted in a rather large and unpleasant trash bag accumulating in the corner of the room.
Overall: A great place to stay for a trip!
