The rooms are very comfortable, and location is good for exploring the French quarter on foot. Service a little stuffy, and breakfast buffet could be better. The old building has a lot of charm and value for money overall its good.

The former western lord's house enables guests to perceive history of Shanghai. This is unique benefit of this hotel. It goes without saying that the hotel service and facilities are adequate to stay comfortably.

The hotel room is spacious enough to stay relaxed. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of foods and drinks. Awesome.

i don't know whether it was my fault booking the hotel but we booked two people for the hotel room but the breakfast was for only one person. So when we got there we had to pay for a second person.

House of horrors! Stayed two nights in the 'Executive Room' and regretted every minute. Here’s why:
• Don’t trust the images on the website. It looks like this place is set within landscaped gardens but is actually next to a major road on one side, an elevated motorway on another, and a tower block at the back (see our pics)
• Due to the proximity to a major road, there is traffic noise at all day and night
• We were located on the second floor in a part of the building without an elevator, so had to take cases up and down two floors of stairs
• Our room had windows on all sides with blinds to give privacy or to keep the light out, however as every single one of the blinds was broken, they remained down leaving the room perpetually gloomy
• On our second night, we were woken at 00.10hrs by a member of staff cleaning the stairs outside our room. Although we called the reception about this, the cleaning continued for another 30-45 minutes
• the room hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned for a long time because we picked up lots of dirt on our feet
• we were charged £6.84 for two mini bottles of Evian water in our room. This is unacceptable because there are general warnings to avoid drinking tap water in Shanghai, and the bottles had no prices attached unlike other items in the room
Moller Villa can't be classified as a hotel. It is not set up to take guests and seems instead to be a place where people go for afternoon tea. When checking in and out, staff seemed unclear what to do.

It is very close to the exhibition center and the staffs are very friendly and they even help me to flight check in (since the flight mobile apps is not working l0l). The only pity thing is the wifi in the room is not that smooth but it is a very nice and good experience overall.

The property is near a school (i think) as I csn hear teachers with megaphone around 7 in the morning yelling st the students for morning sport. Not sure if other rooms can hear it though. My room is st the attic and need to climb sone staircase. Not convenient if you have luggage.

The staff are not helpful nor friendly. Asked them to assist on taking some of my luggage when I was going to check in. They ignore my totally and instead helped another lady that arrived later with one of her shopping bags. Breakfast is not good and they only have Chinese restaurant in the evening which is strange (i asked the concierge). Staff cannot speak / understand English...

Positive points:
- Historic architecture; the origin dates back a few century ago. Originally this house was built by a western celeb for his/her child. Then, the house was passed to a Chinese and renovated as a hotel.
- Although the hotel keeps historic façade, the rooms and facilities are modernized.
- The room in which I spent more than a week is clean, spacious, and furnished.
- The hotel offers superb breakfast with both Western foods and traditional Chinese foods in a buffet style.
Negative points:
- Very few staff can speak English. Not a few time I found difficulties in conveying what I want to do to hotel staff.
- A little bit far from the nearest metro station. 10 to 15 min walk is needed with navigation.
- Gym is super cheap. Only one treadmill and one pedalling machine are available.

This hotel is historic and full of colonial motive, quite a departure from the modern 5-star accommodations. Food is great, and it's close to many good eating and shopping sites. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

The shower head is very weak with its power to pour out water, and water becomes not warm enough when just a bit of cold tap is mixing.

It was once home of a jewish English family, built in the 19th century. The building was expended as a hotel. The exterior and interior decoration remains the old fashion style. The room is comfort and clean. It is near shopping center of West Nanjing road within 10 minutes walking distance.
