We stayed four nights in a rather spacious room. The decor and fittings is a little dated but the place is kept clean. Breakfast spread is basic with the usual bread, cereals, ham, cheese, fruits etc. The hotel is located near to Kudamm strasse the shopping belt. There are many restaurants nearby, with an Italian eatery just next door. Was quite impressed with the staff as they took the trouble to pack a simple food pack for us in the evening before our checkout as we had a very early flight to catch the next morning.

For the price ( 3 beds for €48/night), it was ok (and because we were at the end of a 10-day trip, we were perhaps a bit less sanguine than we might’ve been.). Slightly “down at heels.” Stained carpet, and one bed had a dirty pad on it, no sheets. We never did get hot water at the bathroom sink, so we skipped the shower. Our 7 a.m. Tegel departure meant we needed to be at the airport close to 5:00 which proved too early for the shuttle, desk person recommended to city bus, which worked out well. We were grateful for the elevator, as the pension is on the 4th floor.

On arrival the staff that were supposed to be multilingual didnt speak English so we had to wait for the boss. Who is only there between 15.00 & 17.00 therefore we had to keep returning to the hotel & He turned out to be the most arrogant person i have ever come across. He demanded payment despite already paying before arrival. And showing him our bank records, We had no altenative but to pay again & had a 3 day argument to sort that one out. The room we booked was a queen bed and two singles. What We got were three singles & a broken sofa bed. A huge pipe running through the room that was constantly gushing water through it.. the bathroom sink tap was loose and near impossible to use. And the sewage stinks which made showering unpleasant.. after 2 nights of no sleep and no communication we found another staff member who spoke english & explaining to him we got an "Upgrade" and refund of overpayment. We also only went for breakfast 1 day as it was very basic. Overall the service we recieved turned break we were looking forward to into a very stressful break.

Our was good at the hotel, staff were helpful and very nice. The room was basic but comfy and clean, breakfast was ok the lady was very shy and quiet but she helped when needed. The bathroom was nice and clean. It was very local to all the places we wanted to visit in Berlin. If your looking for a compact budgeted nights stay we would recommend.

Booked it because my flight was cancelled. When I got there right before midnight they told me that it was overbooked (hadn’t let me know about that before). They sent me to another hotel that wanted to charge me 20€ extra but after an unpleasant conversation and the receptionist shouting in russian on the phone, I finally got a room. (Charged me a few Euros extra just ‘because’ but at this point I was dead inside). The breakfast was good tho.
* I was sent to the City Hotel *

I was there with our two kids. It was big, clean, the staff were very nice, very cooperative and uncomplicated, the breakfast room is really nice and it was very cheap! Thank you very much!

This is a great hotel in a quiet part of the city. It is an easy walk to multiple restaurants -- both sit-down and take-away. The room was great four four people, with a small terrace leading outside. No air conditioning, but this doesn't seem uncommon in Berlin hotels. No complimentary toiletries, but it is a 5 minute walk to a grocery store where these can be purchased for < 2 euros.......which is fine given how inexpensive the hotel is which includes breakfast. Breakfast is typical, meats, cheeses, vegetables, cereal, breads, coffee and juices -- good and very adequate. If you need to leave before breakfast hours in the morning, they can prepare something for you if you give them ~24 hours notice. Our room was next to the breakfast room and we heard very little of the morning prep. There are two nice restaurants below this hotel (the hotel is on the 4th floor) and there can be a little noise from them on the weekend if the door is open to cool the room, but it is not a big problem. Staff was very nice and we were able to check in several hours early. We would definitely stay here again on a return trip to Berlin.

arriving i was send at 6pm an email where was told receiving staff at reservations was leaving at 10pm... we arrived at 9pm... and we did not see the email... my friend arriving later, just before 10, the lady at reception did not want to open the door, and called us to open it! we have stayed 5 nights in a triple room, as was business trip we had to use internet which not one day worked. after asking several times, I had to buy internet external...the old tv at the room did not work either.... most uncomfortable thing just one key! so we had to coordinate at all times who was going where and was going back to the hotel. The hotel is old, rooms are clean, beds comfortable, great breakfast....the details above could have made it a great review instead it is not....

This is a very basic hotel, occupying just one floor (4th floor with lift) of a large old Berlin mansion block, but it ticked all the crucial boxes for me, so I was happy - decent value, clean, central (less than five minutes walk from Ku'damm and Adenauerplatz metro station) and my deal came with FREE internet, which was not the case with many of the more expensive hotels. Breakfast was quite simple, e.g. no fresh fruit, but the rolls were perfectly fresh and the breakfast was fine. The owner has the world-weary manner of a prison governor and he didn't waste any energy charming his guests, but the room sells itself on it's other merits, so maybe he doesn't need to try too hard. I liked this hotel and would very happily stay there again. I do think the hotel should invest in better sound proofing between the rooms, but since my neighbours were very quiet, it was not a problem for me.

berlin has alot to offer. 2 weeks wasn't quite enough time.
it would have been nice to have a toilet in the room but it was across from our room. but you do have a shower and sink in the room. they do have rooms with toilets but they more.
the breakfast was GREAT!! coffee, cocoa, tea, juice. cereal, rolls, lunch meats, boiled eggs. the girls in the breakfast room kept everything well stocked.

The hotel was in a good location and quite reasonably priced. The breakfast was delicious! Our room for 3 had 3 separate beds as we asked for. The carpet was a bit dirty - but overall the room was ok. The staff aren't there 24 hours a day in the event you are checking in - be sure to contact them ahead so that they are there to let you in.

A good place to stay as it is close to the main Kudamm strasse and Adenauer Ubahn. The Xantener Eck on the corner is a great place to eat and drink.

Very basic. Good location - a block from subway station (Adenauerplatz). Good breakfast (you can steal fruit, bread, and Nutella packs to get you through the day). The walls are very thin. Bring ear plugs. One computer for internet but the staff is absent most of the day so you're better off going to the 24hr. internet cafe on the main drag (Kurfurstendam).
