Rooms, specifically the bathrooms were not cleaned properly

Room in my opinion was not very clean. Looked like it had not been vacuumed in a while. The sink would not drain properly and the tub looked like it had a blood stain in the bottom.

Well started off by noticing what we pray was chocolate on the top cover under one of the pillows… proceeded to get into the jacuzzi to try and relax. As I was laying there I started to notice hair all around the faucet, what I believe was skin cells in the water, and a control knob missing. Called down to the front desk for assistance only be hung up on by Deja. The audacity. She proceeded to keep the phone off the line for approximately 10 minutes once my husband was able to get a hold of her. It was nothing but pure attitude. Mind you we booked this room specifically with the Jacuzzi as it was our honeymoon and celebration of one year of sobriety.

The hotel was basically empty I showed up 20 minutes before my check-in time. They said the only way they could allow me into my room was if I paid an extra $30 even though the room was ready and the hotel was empty. The front desk crew was very dismissive and were not familiar with the property enough to direct me to my room. The staff could use some training on customer service.

We stayed the night and as we get into our room there were boot prints on the floor, bobbie pins on the floor, wrapping paper under the bed, dirty towels under the bathroom vanity. Then the next morning we get up to shower and leave and there was no water. Called the front desk, the lady was super nice, but had no answers or solutions to the no water issue. I understand things happen but then coming out of the room thr maid staff were knocking on doors to clean the room, WHAT!!! Theres no water how are they cleaning. Still no reimbursement or anything offered for the inconvenience. Upper management should have been there to help their staff and to help answer questions of the guests as well as the workers. But again nothing. Definitely not worth the $159 for one night and the 6.5 hour drive home with no shower after a funeral.

No parking close to property and no valet parking; No TV guide and difficulty operating TV; No room service; Confusing billing statement.

My stay at Ameristar was just….neutral. The service was excellent (shoutout to Jeanne @ Front Desk and Sam @ 1853) as everyone was super accommodating and nice. But the hotel itself had issues. The WiFi was terribly slow, and my cell service in the room was nonexistent so that was concerning. Additionally the TV in my room would cut in and out seemingly every 30 seconds or so. It only did it on a handful of channels but it was not great.
Also allowing smoking in casinos should be outlawed as it was gross and you could not escape the smell.
However my room was nice, and clean, and the whirlpool tub was wonderful and the food at 1853 was excellent.
++ for service
+ for room cleanliness
- - - for technology (WiFi & TV service

The stay was fine, but I was charged for two nights instead of the one night I stayed. The front desk person assured me his manager would take care of it in the morning. Two weeks and many phone calls later from both myself and hotels.com and they insist the error is on hotels.com’s end. It’s not. The extra charge is directly from the hotel and no matter how many people I speak to, the money will not be refunded. I’m extremely disappointed and would not recommend staying here. I’ve never experienced a business insisting there’s nothing they can do “on their end” when the charge is directly from then.

We had a great hot tub in the room. We were disappointed that the buffet isn’t open during the week.

It smelled so bad like an ash trey that we had to leave early. To get to the hotel elevators you have to walk past the bar, resturants and casino so to get to the pool from the hotel you also have to walk past all the restaurants, bar and casino. This is NOT a place to stay to swim nor should you never stay with children bc of the cigarettes smell. The manager scott was absolutely no help, and the girl that check us in was bouncing like she was high, and had a face tattoo. We were only there for an hour to swim then left. We will never come back.

The casino was great except it was difficult to get a drink . Only saw 1 server and she only came in our area one time.
The girl who checked us in was not helpful. I asked if the room she gave us was close to an elevator as my husband is slightly handicapped. She gave us rm 242 which was the last room at the end of the hall.not at all close to the elevator. After I signed for the room. She put the room key on the counter and walked away. I asked her if we were done and she said”yeah”. I had to ask her where the elevator was. She should have given direction right away as it wasn’t easy to find.

Was a great stay. The only thing that could've been better was the WIFI. It was spotty at best, and AT&T didn't get great service there either. Other than that, it was awesome!
