Selina has many activities and it’s fun to stay there. The staff is amazing. It’s safe but it’s not quiet because it’s not supposed to be quiet. I liked my stay. Will stay again.

The staff were amazing, they offered so many activities, it had such a relaxed and fun atmosphere, only complaint was the night time security guy was a little uptight. But all in all, an amzing experience, would definitely stay there again, and even i stayed somewhere else id have to stop by to say hi to the staff.

This is one of best hostels / hotels I’ve ever stayed at!
I‘ve stayed here a few times and I’m always surprised at just how down to earth, friendly and accommodating the staff are here. Amazingly friendly and always make me feel at home.

Selina is nice, but there is a clear line between the backpacking traveler and the budget-aware traveler. I think Selina tries to accommodate both but it’s clear it attracts the backpacker more than the budget-aware. The common spaces are cute and quirky, but again it’s quite a young crowd that gathers in the bar in the evenings. I did have a chance to take a yoga class, it’s nice that this is an offering but the outdoor yoga space is right next to the kitchen which is also open air and the people cooking their breakfast were not mindful of their noise and speaking levels at all. Overall it was a decent stay and served its purpose - that being a cost efficient place to stay while we finalized some wedding decisions.

The property is great, but the main thing that really took away from the experience was the loud pop music, from 9am to 10pm everyday, wherever you are on the property. Yoga room? Pop music. In your private room? Pop music.

This is technically a very nice place, very green and lots of places "to hang out". Yet the management of this hostel chain is way too focussed on making the last Dollar out of you, e.g. by overcharging the legal limit for additional nights (in Guatemala every room has a max ask price which hangs in the room). Also the room quality is best average and very noisy as not sound isolated to the outside (you cannot close the top windows which only consist of wooden bars with big spaces in between).

I liked the convenient location, however the staff was not welcoming. They seemed indifferent and didn’t seem to care for guests needs. They said they will give welcome drink after arrival at 6 pm but went late by 20 minutes and said it is not available anymore. After arguing with them they finally gave me one. The facilities are ok but the staff needs to be more welcoming.

The hostel plays loud music throughout the property until ~9 to 11PM. Now I see this is mentioned in reviews going back for years.
If you are looking for an extroverted backpacker scene, this is absolutely the spot for you! People come to Selina to hang out and socialize. However we booked a private room because we need good sleep, but unfortunately there is no noise insulation from the loud music and other people around (woken up by someone throwing up in the nearby shared bathroom).

This was the BEST hostel I have ever stayed in. The bar area had amazing drinks and food, as well as staff! The environment was very chill, and had just enough quiet that you need to enjoy a vacation, but it was also very social and allowed you to branch out and meet new people. I love photo ops, and Selina had the best artsy areas for that. Overall, I would stay here over and over and over again. It was incredible.

The hotel is set back off the street so really quiet from street noise with a small waiting room up front. Super stylish, welcoming, friendly & eclectic design. The bed is comfortable but no window (a fan) and small for 2 people with luggage. The location is terrific 2 blocks from the arch. One small snafu - we booked airport shuttle for 3 - had misunderstanding with staff I meant afternoon & they booked 3am. We had to re pay and staff helped us get a seat on the shuttle we needed to make our flight so all is well that ends well but could be something to be mindful of when dealing with tourists who may not be used to using military time.

Spontaneous trip-So glad we found a last minute private room! The room was very clean, bed was comfy. Bathroom a bit small but very clean! Love the desk and small sofa. The best part was the view of the volcano. We had a 3rd floor room! Location is perfect!
I usually stay in boutique hotels with my husband and this room definitely felt like it.
The coffee/bar area is great too! Good drinks and WiFi!
The next door restaurant la Esquina was awesome!

Beautiful amenities, only thing we didn’t like is that the shuttles were more expensive than in other agencies, and when we asked the staff about that the answer was that we will be picked up first. It was a lie, we were picked last.
