The property is very close to the Plaza Mayor on a pedestrian street. The room was okay for an overnight stay. It is located next to a restaurant with a huge beer menu and very good pizza. We did have a problem with check-in. There isn’t anyone to check you in; you have to do it yourself on a tablet. We didn’t get an email with the booking number that we needed to check-in. I found it on the Hotels.com app, but it required some searching.

Hotel didn't have a front desk or any physical person working there. It was a very strange system where you were emailed a link to complete where you upload your passport and they give you virtual keys. There was a tablet to do the check in on inside the hotel but it didn't work. I had phone connection issues and had a very difficult time getting into the room and connecting with someone for assistance. I was also informed on hotels.com check in time was 2pm but then couldn't check in until 3. Since there is no one working at the hotel there is no option to drop off bags prior to check in (something that all the other hotels in Spain offered). The room itself was fine but the check in experience and late of luggage storage make things very difficult.

The check in was a disaster. I will never deal with a robot booking again.

Maria Vega and Sandra were so helpful! We received perfect information on how to get to the hotel from the train station and Maria also suggested excellent local places for dining (yum!) Her map was better than the tourist office. We'd stay again, for sure, if we go back to Salamanca. She was even willing to walk us to the bus stop so we would get to our destination on time. That's what we call going above and beyond the call of duty!!

Hosteria Sara was a lovely place to stay in beautiful Salamanca. I needed a budget hotel and it fit the bill. The staff was wonderful. Thank you very much for the warm welcome to receptionist Sandra.

Super friendly and helpful staff, making phone calls for you, helping you with the oddest enquiries like wrapping materials for a fragile item. 1 minute's walk from Plaza Mayor but quiet because pedestrianised except for occasional delivery or street cleaning vehicles. Delicious tapa bars next door. Rooms with heating or A/C, and additional blankets easily available (in chilly early April). Lovely shower, instant hot water, no noisy ventilator! Lift. Key cards for entry and electricity but sockets at bedside work with removed card (good for charging a device while you're out). Reasonably fast and reliable internet. Just perfect!

The hotel was small and comfortable. It was very central. The staff were charming and helpful at all times. We made a mistake in our booking and had to change rooms at the end of our stay and the changeover was seamless due to the help of the staff.

This was part of a week-long trip around the area so our focus was on the sights rather than on the luxuries offered by a hotel, and this made Hosteria Sara the perfect choice. It's easy to find, and although situated on a pedestrian street, someone came out when we rang and led us to the carpark round the corner. She also supplied us with the key fob to get in and out of the carpark as and when we chose, and in Spanish terms it was very cheap at 10 Euros per night. The Hosteria is at the heart of everything and we were supplied with a map that marked with the 'must see' attractions. . Room was basic but had everything we needed; the hotel and the surroundings were quiet, the bed was comfortable and breakfast was available at a range of cafes within a two-minute walk
