The hotel Castellano is located at the city centre and you can go by foot from there to the Salamanca University attractions.
There you have, even, an interesting annex, part of the hotel, like a pub, where you can sit at the tables around the sidewalk and watch the moviment at Portugal Avenue.
A simple and enjoyable place, good point to support your needs when visiting Salamanca.
Thanks a lot, Mr José and Mr Christian.

Good hotel for the price, walls are abit thin so you may up listening to your room neighboors, but just a bit and it’s quiet at night when it matters. Also the restrooms need a little bit of mainteinance. Overal good stay specially for the price.

The rooms we were allocated on this stay were quite small.
Not much room eah sixe of the bed, and bathroom also a tight sqeeze. Everythung was spotlessly clean, and was only staying 2 nghts ao lCK OF space wasn't a problem.
No longer able to ark behind hotel as in previous visits so had a long walk for free parking, so paid by meter to park nearer. Breakfast can be purchased at the bar. Many of the restaurents nearby only did Tapas type meals in the evening.

It was adequate accommodation. The bar served cheep drinks and tapas which were good quality. The location was excellent. Around the block was a good shopping area and a little further was the plaza mejor with its amazing buildings.

Nice clean hotel,in a busy part of the newer town. Not too far to walk to the beautiful sites of the old town. The restaurant was closed, but they served very nice tapas at a good price. Everything in the room was good for the price we paid. The only thing that spoilt our stay was the parking. Its located on a busy road, so was impossible to park. We eventually found an underground carpark about a mile away. So we were unable to take our large case and had to fill a bag with bare essentials we needed for the nights stay. We hadn't realised, there are some parking spaces down some steps right next to the hotel, that can't be seen from the main road. Had we known, we may have been able to get one of these, but it was too late. I hope future bookers find this information useful, as it cost us 14€ to use the carpark for a few hours.

+ve : Good location near the center. Good price in comparison with other hotels. Large room. Tiny bathroom but fully functionable. Hairdryer. Could leave our bags at the hotel while we went out for the morning with no problem at all. Staff very helpful.
-ve : Beds uncomfortable. My bed squeaked every time I moved a muscle. Very annoying. No AC but we had a fan so had that on all night. Wasn´t great but could sleep with it ok. Parking hard to find. You need to use street parking or a car park (there is a large one about 10 mins walk away).

Older hotel, close walk to main tourist area, free parking a short walk away, supermarket close by. Staff very friendly and helpful, good coffee in cafe attached. This is an older character hotel and was well kept, there is a little bit of noise but to be expected. No air con or internal fan we were lucky as it was a cooler few days. We enjoyed our three nights here and would stay again

We stayed 3 nights in Hotel Castellano I and were very happy with our choice. We well welcomed warmly by Sara and she provided wonderful insights on where to go, what to see and where to eat. The hotel is comfortable and clean, it is very well priced. Be sure to visit the attached cafe for great coffee. We would definitely stay again.

It is a very nice small hotel. The room was very clean and cozy. the bathroom was roomy. The front desk staffs are very friendly and willing to help. It is close to train station, but a bit far from the city's main attractions.

breakfast is a strange affair, you have to go into the bar beside th hotel lobby and ask for what you like . The barman then prepares coffee and toast, all very difficult as he doesnt speak English or French.Parking is a problem the nearest free parking places are quite a hike from the hotel.

Have stayed here several times. Ideal position as walking distance to shops, restaurants & sightseeing. Owners very helpful, doesn't speak English but with sign language explained everything we needed. parking difficult as now meters all around, but carpark very near. Can park free overnight at back of hotel from 10p.m. till 9am. small café bar attached to hotel can buy breakfast, & if warm can sit outside on their pavement. We stayed overnight on our way to & from Portugal, but have stayed for longer a few years ago. Hopefully we will return again as Salamanca is a lovely place.
