We’ve stayed here many times as we love the walkable location. Have always overlooked the fact that it is very basic, but now it’s time to update! Had trouble turning the shower on & the handle came right off! The TV was horrible, nothing in the room matches (rug, comforters, walls), there was food in our garbage when we got there .. all fixable things that would make it more pleasant if addressed

The hotel is as expected
Old tired and dirty
What we did not expect was the extremely rude front desk clerk.
If you hate you job find a new one

We checked in a little early. Arrived to our room. The room was very cold and musty smelling. The room would need some updating. We were told that breakfast was available. There was no coffee and not much was available. The yogurt was expired. We had breakfast at Tim Hortons. We weren’t in our room very long but would not recommend this place.

First of all, the new management is very rude. Secondly, the cabin that we stayed in was so outdated smelled horrible. There was mouse poop everywhere. The furniture was disgusting. The air conditioners were about 30 years old didn’t work. The lighting is terrible holes in the walls tiles coming up off the floors, it just overall very rundown needs a lot of work and for the price it was not worth it

It was a 2-star so expectations weren’t high. It suited our needs for a very short stay.

Was a nice room and bed. Breakfast could use addition of yoghurt cups, waffle maker as is common at this price. Shower head room 406 was awful. Big plastic complicated multifunction junk was all but useless. KISS !!

We stay here whenever we are in town. It’s centrally located and walking distance to everything

Property is older but we knew that. Last minute trip to Ellicottville and other local options were full. Alternative was to drive to Olean (abour 30 mins) to a chain hotel. We chose not to do this. Check in was quick and freindly, but room was sparse (absolutely nothing on the walls)....was clean but dated.
I think the smell of cigarettes is likely embedded in the wallpaper/walls as the carpet appeared recent. For one night it was "okay", but next time I would make the drive to Olean.

This was our third and last time staying at this property. The ambience of the place, particularly the outdoor fire pit and the enjoyment it provided, socializing with other guests, made it possible to overlook the run-down condition of the property and the musty smell of the rooms, the gross carpeting and the dated decor. However, the firepit is now gone, the victim, I was told, of noise complaints from neighbors. However, noise was never an issue on our previous visits. The property seems to be under new ownership and I suspect they simply don't want to pay for firewood. The front desk clerk was rude to my wife when she asked for an ice bucket, yelling at her that there is one in every room when there clearly wasn't in ours. The TV didn't work, but we didn't want to go back and deal with this person. That's unfortunate, because the old staff was quite friendly. Finally, the included breakfast is served starting at 8 a.m. meaning that if you need to get up and out, no breakfast even though you have paid for it. We won't be back.

It was clean, comfortable and convenient, but there’s some plumbing issues that need to be addressed

The property was outdated! The toilet had no lid, the bathtub was stained, the bathtub/shower handle fell off as I tried to turn it on. It appears that the owners are not concerned with the upkeep of the property.

Tv in room was not functional. Shower handle did not stay attached to wall No pressure. Toilet broken. Pillows yellow. Blankets itchy. The breakfast had no.milk and spoiled orange juice. Staff were friendly and did not seem unhappy when asked to fix issues.

Made an error when booking so instead of the cottage we got a room ( my fault so we took a room in the annex bldg). Opened the door to nasty musty smell in the small room. Gross, to the point we sprayed cologne and kept the door open. When we got back to the room later, so damp in there the carpet actually felt wet it was so damp. Got it to bed, sheets felt wet too . Uncomfortable to sleep. No venting in the bathroom so showering fogged the whole area up. No outlets in the bathroom either! All in all the room served its purpose in that we slept there, but would not go back. Outdated and smelly. My overnight bag smelled musty too, had to wash everything when we got home. Yuck!

Seems like the place is aging a bit. I stayed in a separate building so my experience may be different than yours if you stay in the main building or the chalet.
Breakfast is a kind gesture, nothing looked really good. Maybe avoid breakfast and invest that money into the property

Run-down - siding falling off, bathroom door held on with rope, shower curtain held on with hair clips, bathroom fan didn’t work, overgrown landscaping, room smelled,

Well located to the downtown & lovely area to stroll around. Cleanliness of rooms has greatly improved from my last visit in June. I missed having the usual yogurt & bagels available for breakfast, coffee was delicious as were the apples. Peanuts butter packets need to be replaced..they were dried out! Interesting history of the stone entrance off Jefferson.
Overall would definitely return to this pleasant & reasonable accommodation.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Needs updating and has no microwave to warm up your food. Overall it was pretty clean and a decent place stay. This was a work trip so I didn't need anything too fancy. Overall a decent place to stay.
