In a lovely spot in the old town of Fribourg. Loads of things to do by foot although it is quite hilly. The lady on reception was amazing, really friendly and very helpful. If going back to the train station use the funicular, quite an experience (powered by sewage!) and takes all the hills out which is handy when you have cases

Breakfast at restaurant was the best in our 3 week trip
Roof beams and slanted ceiling made nice sized room uncomfortable

Lovely hotel on pretty square. Quiet and convenient for no4 bus.
Although wide range of à la carte for breakfast, small choice of breads etc and expensive.

The room was extremely small with no air conditioning, so definitely not recommended during hot weather. We did like the location in the “bas-ville.” Hotel restaurant and lobby were undergoing remodeling which was a bit of an inconvenience as staff are not there at night.

I truly enjoyed my stay at Hotel Sauvage. My room on the very top floor was lovely and spacious. My only issue was that the light in the bathroom was dim. Other than that I loved everything about Hotel Sauvage- the amenities, the design, the breakfast, the bed and the chaise were perfect.
The staff was exemplary; helpful, gracious and accommodating.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted to stay in Old Fribourg.
