Wonderful place - possibly looks better in real life than in the pictures. Very cozy. Staff are lovely, the breakfast brought to the room is delicious, and the bar is a great hang-out.

The service at this hotel was outstanding! Every staff member was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and charming. The bar was an outstanding atmosphere. This was our favourite stop during our trip and we hope to visit again one day!

The room was very clean, with a window that opens (no concerns regarding shared airflow) and there was an alcohol spray available. The rooms are beautiful, with very tasteful interior and carefully chosen buy-it-for-life quality brands. This is our second stay here and we plan to come back again.

Great vibe, staff and FANTASTIC interior. The choice of materials and utilities are all well chosen and high quality brands. It was designed with care and love, they didn’t cut any corners.

Small cozy hotel a little bit outside of the red light district. The upstairs bar and lobby are the nicest areas of the hotel but not very spacious. Definitely a 3 star hotel experience. - Small, sparse, and cozy. My room was dusty and the paint was worn. The colors are rather dull and could be updated with cool Pendleton blankets and designer pieces. Would suggest b&w photograph from local artist of Hokkaido. Bathrooms are dated and made with cheap plastic. Pillows are very uncomfortable. Pajamas and toiletries were a nice touch appreciated having water and tea bags in the room. Staff was nice but young and inexperienced. They need to give people a chance to put their bag down and regroup when checking them in. When I arrived girls were chatting at the desk, not one asked if they could help with my bags or show me the room. Went up to the bar one evening for the free wine hour to find they were having an anniversary party that would cost $ to attend and would include one drink and apps. None of the guests of the hotel were informed and many were put off. I don’t think they should have charged the hotel guests, I also think it was bad form not to communicate this. Maybe announce it in a board, or send an invitation under the door. Hotel has potential, doesn’t seem like management and staff care about their guests. Rooms need a makeover. Breakfast is nice idea but needs more consideration. Mgmt should learn from hotels that have this concept down.

Unwind Hotel is a little gem just off the main road in Susukino. It's a short walk to the ice sculptures during the annual Sapporo Snow Festival. There is a currency conversion kiosk across the street (don't covert your dollars to yen at the airport). Space is always limited in Japan, so this isn't a knock on the property, just be prepared for no closet in your room. This isn't a problem for light travelers or backpackers. The staff is very helpful and courteous.

This hotel was amazing! We arrived late on a Saturday evening during a snow shower. Staff welcomed and greeted us very pleasantly. It was cosy, quaint and very warm feeling — especially with the fireplace and lodge like decor!
