La amabilidad de la familia.... El perrito parece un peluche aunque si es algo temperamental.... La decoración muy a los 70'. Fue una excelente estancia espero regresar algún día

Candida is a great cook, they make you feel like you are part of the family. They were willing to go completely out of their way to help me.They even found me a full time apartment to live in. They helped me get the best selection and prices on furniture and appliances . They guided me on so many things in order for me to get settled in my new apartment .This family made my moving to Nicaragua the best experience I could have ever imagined. I am so thankful to have met them. I’m sure we will be friends for many years to come.

Most loving lady, makes you feel like home. She also did our laundry for 100cordobas. Truly amazing.
City centre is a 15 min walk.

Run by a lovely couple quick with a smile, this Homestay was clean and fairly quiet and just enough of a walk from the center of the city to feel like living in a local neighborhood. I recommend getting your meals at the Homestay (changes daily), each one for a decent price, as the hostess is an excellent cook. 15 minute walk from the bus station or less if you ask the bus driver to drop you closer on the way into town. Two birds and a little dog also live at the house.
It didn’t bother me at all, but it’s good to know this room (the one in which I stayed) is right off the kitchen, and all voices can be heard as they are just on the other side of the thin wall. For those who like to sleep late or go to bed early, this could be problematic without earplugs.

Nothing
In the booking it was stated that the room was equipped with an ensuite room and a balcony. But when we showed up we realized they were not true. We were shown a dark room with some bad smell. So we refused to stay and checked in at a hotel which was way much better. Name of that hotel was Hotel San Jose in Matagalpa.

Loved everything! Probably the most welcome we've felt in any place we've stayed at. Would highly recommend:)
The bus left at 6:05 and not 6:20.

Superfriendly family. Private bathroom. Help to park the car. Early morning coffee. Nice bed.
Everything was good.

Hosts were excellent. Breakfast was delicious. Value for the stay was also excellent.
No window in downstairs room. Not a huge problem as can open a door outside but it was a shame.
Two little parrots are owned by the hosts, and stay in the courtyard outside. They are cute and fun, but on the other hand they do wake up when the sun rises (pre 6am) which got a little annoying.

Amazing host, really kind and wonderful family, can't do enough to help! Really enjoyed my stay in the beautiful home!

The bed was comfortable
The advertised 1USD room is a fake, a way to attract customers, as they will then ask you 11 usd, saying it's an issue they have with booking.com. And they tell you this with a laugh almost making fun of you.
The wifi didn't work properly and when I asked the guy he treated me as a stupid person.
When going to the toilet I notice there's no sink. When I ask they say that it broke so there's no sink. No apologies no nothing.

Owners very kind an helpful. I mentioned I love tiste and the owner brought me some, five minutes later. The house is very comfortable and you are allowed access to all areas, very easy going.
Just a little far from the city center.

Staying with a family is so much more personal and enjoyable than a hotel

The atmosphere. Really cosy. The landlady cooked good food.
The location is a bit out of the city. If you don't mind to walk about 15 min, it is fine.

Mrs. Candida is a complete sweetheart. Greets everybody as if they were her grandchildren. She noticed I was coughing at night, and the next day she even gave me a bottle of cold medicine to take with me. Also, I highly recommend to order before hand breakfast because it was extremely delicious and fulfilling; Nica breakfast, a bowl of fruit and coffee. The property is extremely clean, and if you have a car, like we did, you can park by the property; we were lucky that the garage space inside the house was open, and they offered us to park there. We will definitely stay there next time we go to Matagalpa. I’ve been traveling for 2 months and this is by far my best stay! Thank you Mrs. Candida for being so awesome!
Nothing, everything was just perfect. However, make sure you close your windows before dark because otherwise the mosquitoes WILL eat you alive.

One of the best stays I’ve had in Nicaragua. The family is so lovely. The room is nice and clean, they help you with organizing hikes, inform you about good restaurants and taking busses. The food she cooks is amazing, never skip the breakfast T the homestay! I 100% recommend this stay.
There is also a great BBQ restaurant 2 blocks away, definitely worth a visit.
Support the locals, forget about big hotel companies!

very friendly family that also helped me to do tours, hikes on my own. i probably saved 150 dollars that some tour company would have gotten :)
small shops (pulperias) all around
10 minute walk from bus terminal south
fastest internet i've seen in nicaragua :) (though the wifi connection was too weak in my room)
nada :)

Loved the room and even had a cute balcony! The family is so amazing and helpful! Also can’t forget the cute puppy!! The coffee here is amazing and they have it everyday! Also even offered to make me food and tea when I was a bit under the weather!! Such a sweet family! Will definitely stay here again!
It is a bit out of town so I did end up taking a taxi everyday. It is just out of what I would consider walking distance to the parks and restaurants.

Super kind and helpful owner who also cooks fantastic meals. Very affordable and a truly authentic Nica experience. Would definitely return.
It's a bit far from the center but easy to walk or get everywhere by bus.

Very welcoming family, we felt at home during the 2 nights we spent there !

The hostess was really lovely and super helpful with suggestions about the area. I felt very welcome. The hostess did my laundry!
Nothing I can think of
7.9
The family was really nice and took great care of us during our stay. The breakfast was really good (eggs, fresh fruits, coffee and bread) and with 30 Cordobas p.p. very cheap.
The homestay is not located directly in the center. But busses run near the homestay and taxis cost around 20-30 Cordobad p.p., so the distance was no problem for us.
