Location was perfect as it wasn’t far from home, the spa bath was so welcomed and cosy for two!
Two of the reasons I chose the place was Breakfast was included as was gold class cinema which as we arrived was informed neither was available with no thought of any money off or something to extra to cover that, which I found not good

The location was ideal. It was quiet and the accommodation was clean, spacious and had all I needed. The fire place was perfect to warm the room.
Can't say there's much to put here. I wanted a peaceful, relaxed weekend and that's what I got.

Shane was an exceptional host, very happy to help and assist in any way possible. The food was great and the room although large and with a high ceiling felt extremely cosy. The massage was amazing!
It wasn't until the day that we were leaving that I spotted the large bookshelf in reception full of movies available for viewing. This is an awesome amenity and I just wish someone would have pointed it out sooner.

Would highly recommend this peaceful relaxing getaway

The host Shane made us feel very welcome
and was a lovely guy. He took a special interest in making sure we were looked after and had everything we needed, he is truly passionate about his job and made our stay extra special! Thank you Shane 😆! The retreat is beautiful and was everything we wanted and more. it was private, spotlessly clean and the spa bath was very romantic lit with candles. The complimentary bubbly on arrival and the complimentary breakfast was so delicious and just topped such a special weekend for myself and my partner on our one year anniversary. I definitely recommend the Escarpment retreat to all couples, it will stay in our memories forever and we will definitely be back! Looking forward to seeing you again Shane 😌
Nothing , it is the most beautiful property in the best location, Mt Tamborine 😍❤️

Large homecooked breakfast was great and very convenient
Gardens seemed to need a bit more maintenance. It is such a beautiful location and the tropical gardens are superb, but needed a bit more love
4.4
It was private, beautiful grounds, villas were lovely and the bed was comfortable. Having a Day Spa on site was a bonus.
Could have done with better heating. The air conditioner was very noisy and up high which took a while to heat the room which was cold. The wood burner could have been utilised as the weather turned cold.

The location is fantastic and it was so peaceful and relaxed. breakfast every morning was great too

Superb jaw-dropping villas in lovely grounds. A friendly kookaburra perched on the balcony! Lovely cinema room (you need to book it). The best cooked breakfast we had in Australia. Fabulous couples massage from the two spa ladies.
Absolutely nothing. 10/10 all round.

The location, scenery, friendly staff and amazing breakfast.
There was nothing we didn’t like.

An absolutely amazing get away that feels like travelling into another world. We stayed here for a weekend for a little break and enjoyed the huge spa bath, the cosy cabin and a perfect massage treatment. We have never felt so relaxed after 2 days.

The breakfast was excellent, and the bed was very comfortable.
You can hear the adjoining neighbours even at normal conversation levels and we had a drunken couple keep us awake until 2am. Every footstep can also be heard. The AC was very loud even on silent mode (which made it hard to sleep) and the kitchen downlights kept flickering. The large feature bathroom window where the spa bath is had cobwebs and mould of several different colours and the area it looked onto was pretty disgusting.

the grounds were beautiful
Escarpment review
My partner and I booked in for (and paid for in full) a 5 night stay but chose to leave after 3 nights because the Escarpment was so poor. I’m going to attempt to break down the issues below
1. the water pressure in the bathroom was abysmal. I’ll attach a photo of the maximum water pressure we had during our stay. It was even worse when the sink was used or the neighbours were in the shower. Forget about washing your hair or flushing the loo at the same time. There was however a lovely bath - as long as you’re happy to wait 30+ min for it to fill up.
2. The walls of the room weren’t water tight, so we had rain water trickling in through the walls during weather, which was obviously an ongoing issue by the looks of the staining on the paint on the walls. As a result everything felt and smelt ‘damp’
3. The villa we stayed in (#3) was filthy. There were spider webs all over the ceiling, the canopy over the bed was wet and mouldy and blue paint (or similar) in the bath
4. The service was an embarrassment. Carolynne had no interest in helping the guests at all. We asked for some small things in our room to be replaced (additional toilet paper because only two were provided for 5 night stay; and towels to be replaced). She made me feel like I’d just asked her to give me the moon. Then when we told her we planned on leaving early, I was met with contempt. I wouldn’t be bothered writing this review had she treated me with a modicum of respect
5. Finally, adding to the overall dilapidated feel of the accomodation - cracked tiles in the bathroom and missing lightbulbs (6 missing in our villa by my count)

Nice and comfortable and good breakfast
Property in disrepair need a little TLC and it would be perfect

Quiet vacation location. Peaceful rainforest surrounded by trees and creeks and wildlife. Great location to stay close for wineries and activities in Tambourine Mountain. Villas have an old charm to them. Bed was surprisingly comfy. The bathroom was spacious and felt luxurious.
Unfortunately the whole location is dated. Where it excels in peacefulness, it lacks in comfortability. Pathways often cluttered with leaf litter. The wooden boardwalks are falling apart. Cracked and broken pavement walkways. Mouldy ceilings and weeds growing in gutters. There were cockroaches and cobwebs all throughout the villa. I do understand that its the rainforest and spiders are to be expected but not like this. Linen overhang on the 4 corner post bed was mouldy and covered in dead bugs. The décor and lighting is very outdated. Some of the lights not working. Overall the stay was nice but feel there's so much work to be done to the property for the price. Carolyn the manager/owner/housekeeper seems to have taken a lot of roles on for herself. I can see how people may interpret her as standoffish and rude but we feel she needs to be warmed up to.

Loved the service, peace and serenity.
My hubby was concerned about the Huntsman in our room.
I named him Harry Hairy Legs.

The couples massage didn't disappoint and it was lovely to have a jacuzzi bath in our bathroom. The room DVD option is a nice touch.
The room was dark and damp with some broken light fixtures. You are asked to make your breakfast choice the night before.

beautiful location, relaxing and tranquil spaces. Amazing day spa.
value for money, missing little luxuries and tired decor.

Didn’t to get to see it as there was a mess up with our booking.
Very disappointed, was told they only had us booked in for 1 night when we had booked for 2 and we email confirmation to prove it. Staff wasn’t very helpful, felt like we were brushed off and they didn’t care. Had to cancel wine tours.

Great rooms with exceptional service

Location great. Home cooked breakfasts to order were amazing!!! Villas were very private with great outlook.
Outdoor furniture for our villa was very dated. Outdoor areas need some TLC. But this is our only criticism. Our whole stay (5 nights) was amazing

The breakfast was delicious and the fireplace in the cottages were beautiful.
Past guest leftovers in the drawers and sheets had marks on them, possibly blood and chocolate smudged in.

Complimentary breakfast was exceptional!

Everything was perfect from the entire setting of our room to the most wonderful breakfast and staff.
