Location only positive
Needs a huge tidy up, room ok but outside areas were so bad , needed a sweep, prune roses and general tidy up

Great central location.
Needs thorough cleaning of bathrooms. Most soap holders out of soap. Old and very basic.

This the 7th time I have stayed here & the Pinnacle across the road (same owners). So I stay here out of loyalty & I know the location is the best!
This hotel this time was not great. My trip with my daughter was, but the accommodation was just a bad experience 24/7.
Felt grotty. Loud hot water system from other units, loud heating unit from other units use. Both located at our back door. Weird vibe around motel, neighbouring room was extremely dodgy, I felt unsafe.
I let the owner know I was close to calling the police with the comings & going’s of non guests to his room to hand over ‘tissue boxes’ (in a big email afterwards) as I didn’t want the neighbouring room to know I felt unsafe incase he approached me. & I was replied to straight away, explaining a few things like it was a religious holiday that weekend so minimal staff…& that the guy next door was only staying short term as I thought he lived there. The owner said he’d call & he hasn’t. So I’m finally doing my review.

Great location, close to town.
Rooms are run down. Carpet it our room was filthy. Threadbare towels if questionable cleanliness.

Retro Good location with a good view. Technically everything you need was provided- microwave, cutlery, ac/heat, tv…..
Although it was ‘clean’ there was a weird mold smell on towels & linens. Other guests feeding cockatoos left poo everywhere & distressing gangs of birds. Even though it’s a mountain town- there seemed to be an above average amount of bugs in the room. Retro can* be kitsch or fun, but this felt more dated than cool.

Great spot. Friendly staff.

Stayed there before so this is my second time. As expected. Good location, close, as in walking distance to amenities.
Price, but probably due to school holiday.

The place is very centrally located and easy walking distance to everything in the town. Nice view of the mountains and the kangaroos in the paddock.
It wasn't as nice in person as it looked in the pictures on line. There were large holes ripped in the curtains and cobwebs on the ceiling. It wasn't as clean as we would expect. The fridge didn't seem to keep our things cold properly and the freezer didn't work at all. No sound proofing and you can hear the guests in their room next door talking. Overall, the place has been left to get very rundown and dated looking and it doesn't look like any maintenance has been done around the place in a very long time. This place has so much potential for the location it is in.

View from our room (14) and location
Tired and basic

Beyond this however, the room was warm and cosy, dated but clean for the most part, and the bed comfortable. Proximity to town was great and being greeted by the mountains and kangaroos out my window in the morning was almost as perfect as that first breath of fresh mountain air.
The facilities are a little lacking though fine for the price but the continental breakfast begs the question, why would you bother? What takes the cake however is the receptionist, who quite clearly did not care about his job. When asked about one of the famous hiking spots (in a place most people go to hike mind you) he had no idea what I was talking about and suggested I Google it. He was incredibly unhelpful and almost smuggly proud of it. My favourite line definitely had to be "I do this job because it's easier than manual labour". Well fair enough, one might expect he'd try to be good at it then.

Clean, cosy accommodation located near the entrance of Halls Gap. Also very near dining spots.
Unfortunately, our heater stopped working 1 hour into our stay - the friendly receptionist helped hs obtain a new heater - which unfortunately stopped intermittently through the night too. I didn’t encounter such an issue when I stayed here in 2022 - so I am confident the owners will take steps to replace the faulty heater(s).

Beautiful view of mountain ranges
Poor cleaning standards especially bathroom and toilet

Excellent value for money as compared to others in Halls Gap. Very clean. Family run business.

Loved the fact that our closes neighbours were a kookaburra and a field full of kangaroos The little heater was very efficient and the fridge had ice blocks in it Essential for a Gin and Tonic we brought!!
Haven't had a shower with a shower curtain for about 30n years so a bit of a surprise but it worked quite well
5.0
True to name with Kookaburras all around. Also plenty of other birds, kangaroos, emu's, etc. Gardens were nice, good BBQ area, great tv, excellent internet, nice quiet location, walking distance to amenities, very scenic location and town, excellent sight seeing,
Minor maintenance item shower door hinge broken, carpet need clean, bit bigger fridge, maybe dvd player

The location was brilliant. Easy walking distance from cafes & restaurants.
The staff were very helpful & welcoming. The unit was spacious with lovely views - request a Mountain View room.
Guest laundry wasn’t easy to access.

It was very central and within walking distance to main street, Motel was a little tired, curtains had a few rips in them, a few stains on the floor but apart from that it was okay,
We didn't dislike the Motel, it just needed some TLC to update the inside, we looked online and the pictures were the ones when it was first built, but we have found that most Motels are the same, they don't post what the rooms are like now, it is a little disappointing. But I would recommend.

location. easy to park.
Horrible Cleaningness. Mold and cobwebs all over in the rooms. Bad service attitude. Fake reviews on bookings.com!!!
4.5
The view of the lush field with kangaroos and emus with a mountain backdrop. The room was comfortable and reasonably spacious. The covered BBQ area and brand new BBQ was a delight to cook on.
Nothing

Very clean and comfortable. Excellent location. A warm welcome on arrival. Good value.
The outlook from the patio is a big bonus but the outdoor furniture is in a poor state and the grounds are not being suitably maintained. On a previous visit I marvelled at the roses in the car park but it appears they are no longer being pruned which os a great shame.
