I liked that my money was going to support a worthy cause! The location is close to the beach and the train station.
The breakfast was basic, and very Portuguese - I am not complaining. I realise this is not why I choose to stay here!!

Room was very quiet and the A/C was the quietest and most efficient I can ever remember. Staff were very helpful.
If you are late arriving at the accommodation, example after 10pm, you will need to find the security guard to find your room and give you the key. A minor inconvenience.

I will be honest, if you're fine with a hostel, this place will do nicely. Lovely little room right on the beach road and great for a very short walk to see the crashing waves on the coast. Also a BP gas station right next door for food snd sundries. Lovely lady named Elusabwth at check in, good parking.
It's a noble endeavour to serve people like refugees at this foundation and have tourist guests who contribute to that mission, but they should tell you that's what the place is. If you're unbothered by kudos playing and shouting until past 10 pm in the hall right outside your door, and people talking loudly in the next room until after midnight, you might not be bothered, but it's not my idea of a pleasant stay.

Rooms are basic with super clean and tidy. Very minimalist with the basics required (bring a book). Quiet over all if it takes a day/two to figure out where things are. Ideal for beach access, mainly for surfers and stronger swimmers (bring beach shoes for water access). Some nice restaurants and cafe at the beach nearby. Clearly run by people with big hearts - on occasion a class from kindergarten will parade through the reading/relaxing area - which is quite hilarious. Definitely a good vibe in this place. Short stay for someone looking for some time-out with a book and their own thoughts - a retreat spot. Breakfast was very basic and will give pleasant flashbacks of boarding school for some guests :-)) (colaiste na rinne - class of '89)
Check-in was a little confusing. They could use a little orientation sheet on arrival - and explain to guests how the room locks work - most of my neighbours were making alot of noise trying to force it close - its an unusual locking system (would get rid of it myself). Nothing else. Delighted to stay in this most different short stay.

Comfortable enough for the price, decent sized room, felt more like student accommodation than guesthouse.

clean... thats all
While this has the perfect location there is absolutely zero noise canceling. It was so noisy I could not sleep at all. Doors banging, sounded like furniture moving and people talking at 4 am. Very sad to say wont stay there again, left after one night. Great location and it was clean but couldn't sleep at all. Oh and the air-vent was so noisy that had have the lights off in the bathroom because it was so noisy.

Staff very friendly and helpful
Room cosy and fit with amazing air con.
Clean and pleasant
Didn't have a very good night's sleep as a group of people arrived at midnight and stood in the corridor outside my room talking, and laughing etc. I had to come out and ask them to be quiet which didn't really change for another 20mins!!
The same thing happened around 3am
I woke up exhausted and unfortunately there was no one at the reception to feedback our experience to.
It was a real shame as we had the whole day of traveling with children ahead of us.
