Fabulous views and lovely property. Everything you could think of in the kitchen. Beautiful cake and bottle of wine from owners on arrival, nice touch. Be aware there is no soap provided in the bathrooms for handwashing but the kitchen is so well equipped from dishwasher tablets to salt and vinegar for your chips, that buying some soap is not a big deal. Very private and relaxing four days.

We loved the property. The view was amazing and the location is great for exploring the area. We stayed an extra night as the weather was so good and there was availability. The kitchen/house is well equipped. Some items a little worn. Extra touches like hand wash/toiletries would have been welcomed. The host was welcoming and communication was great before and during our stay. Would definitely return/recommend.

We all had such an amazing time here. The house was spectacular with breathtaking views. Clean, spacious and only a short distance from the beach which made it even better. Shops were only a 5 minute drive away and there was a decent selection of bars and cafes to choose from.
A wonderfully finished property with everything you could possibly need. We were fully catered for and more. Kate made us feel very welcome from start to finish. We’ll definitely be back!

My children and I stayed in this gorgeous home while visiting Northern Ireland. The location was perfect for ferry use and visiting all the destinations we dreamed of. The owners were extremely thoughtful and went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of.

Tara's House
Communication with the owner before our stay was very good and resulted in me saying that if the property was half as good as that we were in for a good stay. I can say that none of us were disappointed. Property was excellent and the views exceptional. Location was quite just what we wanted

Great getaway from it all spot
Excellent dog friendly property with nearby beach within walking distance. Online listing states a nearby bar and restaurant called the Drunken Duck at end of drive, yes it’s at the end of the drive BUT has been closed for approx 6 years So there’s nowhere in walking distance to eat. Only pub within walking distance is Michael Johns pub which is NOT dog friendly, if you take your dog you have to sit outside in the open smoking area. The ‘dog-issue’ aside, even if I’d wanted an Irish bar this was not it, can’t fault the Guinness but if it’s craic you want then the closest would be in Greencastle or Moville and you will need a taxi. Had we known the Drunken Duck had closed and that the only other pub didn’t allow dogs in we would not have booked. That aside the house itself is ideal, great en-suite rooms, plenty of room with a wonderful welcome pack of red wine and homemade biscuits and cake from Kate. The addition on checkout to pay for emptying the bins after paying for the stay might jar slightly for some customers but bins must be emptied.

So close to being a really first class place. The welcome was sweet even though we never actually got to meet Kate and Gavin personally. The views are stellar. Truly stunning and something we all enjoyed. The house is very roomy. It just needs a thorough cleaning inside and out and small things like detergent for the washing machine so that guests don't have to go find and purchase a box for one or two loads of laundry, easy access to the clothesline, towel hooks near the showers and at the least hand soap in the bathrooms... Minor adjustments would make a big difference for guests. We also weren't thrilled about having to pay extra to take the trash out behind the house. That seems a bit redundant after paying handsomely to stay there. We had an early flight in Belfast and having to do chores in the dark and the rain that we assumed we were already paying for made us raise an eyebrow. Thank goodness we didn't have to go searching for glass recycling in one of the villages also. Personally, when on holiday, we don't go looking for work, no matter how small the job. We are leaving our daily drudgery at home and paying handsomely for that small but very important luxury. And while not ideal, asking for the trash to be taken out isn't actually that unreasonable. Asking paying guests to pay for trash disposal is a whole other ballgame. It seems a shame that such a small thing made such a big impression. It wasn't the takeaway we had hoped for.

The Inishowen 4 trip
I had tried to book this house on 2 previous trips and it was booked out, so I was delighted when we managed to get it this trip and we were not disappointed! It is exactly as described and definitely the best house that we have rented in Inishowen.

Having viewed Taras House on-line and read the previous reviews of the property, our expectations were high for our week in Donegal. Even before we arrived, Kate couldnt have been more helpful with directions and information about the area. Driving down the hill to the house which nestled into the hillside, we were certainly not disappointed. The gardens were so sympathetically planted and the views out to Lough Foyle were a constant delight: even changes in the weather did not detract from this excellent spot. Kate spoiled us with delicious and thoughtful treats on arrival and we enjoyed every minute of our time there. The house is so well situated for exploring this beautiful part of the world. Busy days spent sightseeing around the Wild Atlantic Way helped us appreciate the complete haven of peace that this property represents. Comfortable, well-designed and proportioned living accommodation meant that everyone in our party were happy and had their own little corners for relaxing and reading. Hoping we can visit again soon !

This is a vacation home that I would most definitely recommend. It was exactly as advertised and my family ( 4 adults and two small grandchildren) absolutely loved it. The home was very clean, spacious and well-organized and the view of the sea was breath-taking every day. We enjoyed our quick 8 minute trip to Moville for dinner and supplies and loved the access to the ferry in Green Castle which took us across the bay and onto the sights of Portrush, Giants Causeway etc. You will not be disappointed.

Peaceful with beautiful views
We loved our stay at Tara’s House. Gavin and Kate were wonderful hosts and the home was just perfect for our family. It’s a little off the beaten path and exactly what we were looking for.

The views and location of the property were exactly what we were looking for!
The home is beautiful and extremely clean. Views and privacy were amazing. Kate left us some cookies, cake and a well needed bottle of wine which was very appreciated. My only suggestion to make the visit more comfortable would be for the home to be better stocked for visitors. There were no coffee filters, hand soap, napkins, only one kitchen towel and one roll of toilet paper for each bathroom which cut it very close. We did not come prepared for that. But we had an amazing stay non the less. Thank you Kate and Gavin!!
Bless you both!

Sea view house
Great house and what a beautiful location. Our hosts Gavin and Kate were very helpful with all things from where to go for dinner to all sights we needed to see. One suggestion I have would have to build in the price of disposing the garbage in the rental price as we were scrambling to find euros to take care of the trash. Quite comical really. When we come back we will stay in this beautiful house with it’s great location. Thank you Gavin and Kate our wonderful hosts.

Lovely mini break with my family
We had a great stay in this house. Communication with the hosts was great. All of our needs were met. The house itself is extremely comfortable and the view is beautiful. With small children, it was nice to walk down to the beach and then relax in the house afterwards with plenty of space for them to play. Thank you!

A great house in a good location
Tara's house is of impressive modern design, very comfortable and well equipped, with lovely sea views through the large double glazed windows. The owners were very helpful. We visited wonderful beaches on the Inishowen Peninsular and the house is well placed to visit Northern Ireland too. We would happily return.

Property in a beautiful location overlooking Lough Foyle to Nothern Ireland. So relaxing.
This house had everthing you need to experience home from home! Lots of light and big windows to bring the outside in and enjoy those wonderful views. Quiet location and a great base for exploring around us. Beaches also superb. We had a great break and would 100% stay again.

Excellent house with great family space
The house looks small from the outside but is actually quite spacious. The open planning living area, three bathrooms and well sized bedrooms was more than enough for my party of four adults and four young kids (and a dog). The house was both warm and comfortable with excellent facilities so when there were a few rainy days, being housebound was not a problem. The views are breath taking, looking out over the Atlantic coastline of County Derry. The house location is totally secluded so privacy is guarenteed. We've been renting properties over the last few years in Donegal and this has definitely been one of our favorite breaks. The only negative is that one week wasn't enough!

Lovely house, beautiful views and wonderful hosts.
Beautiful house with wonderful view. Very spacious and underfloor heating made it very cosy - even in the snow. The outdoor decking and garden made a lovely play space. Kate and Gavin are the most thoughtful hosts - the gifts of home made baking were delicious. Kate and son even rescued us when we got the car stuck up in the mountains! Would thoroughly recommend for a lovely relaxing break.

Lovely property, stunning views and so relaxing.
This was our second stay here and it won’t be our last!
The property is amazing, very modern and the under floor heating an absolute joy in February!
The views are stunning and everything you need is close by whether it’s a beach, a restaurant or a pub.
Can’t wait to come again!
