The house is in a lovely location close to Donegal town, and has a great garden to the side where our dog loved roaming. The kitchen is well equipped, the bed comfy, and the binder with local tips from the owners super helpful (we discovered some lovely beaches thanks to their maps).

Never saw our host but she communicated well, and left good instructions. Kitchen is fully equipped and location is only a mile from grocery and other shopping. Far enough from town to avoid some of the bustle and noise of Donegal town, which can get quite busy. Was nice to step out the back door and hear birdsongs. Even heard a cuckoo once. TV room is a nice place to relax and converse. Bathroom and shower are well setup and easy to use. One of the few places where it was easy to control the heat when you needed it.
There are great things to do, like the walk along the northern edge of the harbor by the river. Spent time in the pubs, which can get quite crowded in summer months. Best acoustics were in Dom's Pier 1 on Quay Street. Best view of locals having a great time was in the Reel Inn by the river bridge.
For a great meal try Simple Simon's, where Quay Street meets the diamond.
We were on foot much of the time, so wish the sidewalks extended a bit further out of town. But it was a nice walk if you are up for it, about twenty minutes or so (just mind the traffic when cars are going both directions at once). Easy to get a taxi to it from town, tougher in the other direction (and forget Sunday morning).
Donegal is known as a seat of traditional Irish music, but we mostly encountered ballads and even American country songs, covering artists such as Johnny Cash, John Denver and Kenny Rogers. Not what we expected or hoped for.

Nice location, a short drive from the town and easy to find. Very well kept house and a pleasant stay.

Convenient location - apart from driving, if you fancy a pub night, you can walk 15mins to town. On the way walking back don't forget to look up to the sky and check the stars! (Wearing the vests provided by the host).
Lounge with fireplace, TV, speakers and records - Cozy home-like.
More than expected cooking equipments - didn't expect there's a rice cooker and a slow cooker! Chef friend managed to make the best lamb stew and stir-fried rice in this house! Happy memories!
Easy check in and check out.
Pet friendly.
Also love the blue folder carefully prepared by the host! It has plenty of useful local info inside! Do read it! We found the very best seafood chowder in olde castle bar based on the instruction! 💗
Would recommend this place to everyone!

Property was clean and very well equipped. location was great also.
The entrance off the road was quiet narrow. The couch in the sitting room was quite low. (My parents are elderly). perhaps a chair could be added to the room.

We can truly & honestly recommend this place to 100%: The house was perfectly equipped, very clean & tastefully decorated, very cozy (especially when the fire was lit in the fireplace), with a modern bathroom (powerful shower) and three generously sized bedrooms. The newly installed WiFi was super fast & very reliable, which made my husband’s remote working very easy! A house with many lovely & thoughtful touches throughout like many interesting books, great CDs, fun board games for kids, high visibility vests for evening walks, umbrellas and even some stuff for dogs! At the back & side of the house there was a big fenced garden which has been the favourite (& safe!) exploring playground for our small dog! The communication with Paula, our host, was excellent: despite a great instruction folder for the house, we had 1-2 questions and the response was always immediate & helpful. Situated on a quiet country road at the end of the Bluestack Drive and at a 15’ walking distance from Donegal Town, it has been for us THE perfect base to explore this breathtaking county! We have also been blessed with five sunny days which of course made the whole stay even more relaxing and enjoyable! Oh, and thanks to Paula’s many leaflets we ordered twice from Thai Ann, which we can also recommend dearly! All in all, we’ve loved staying in this home and we will not only recommend it to our friends but will definitely be back one day! Thank you, from Christina, Roland & Chloe🐶
Too short; would have loved to have stayed longer!😉
