Great value for money with nice location
Small room, the AC and fridge made a lot of noice, no curtains only doors so plenty of light came in

it’s well located, close to Tokyo station. helpful, especially if you carry a lot of luggage. we wanted a traditional experience, and to be honest we had very comfortable sleep!
we stayed for 5 nights and the rooms wasn’t cleaned at all, we weren’t instructed on any of it. i believe you can take fresh towels from reception but no idea what to do with dirty ones.
There was also no one ever present at reception. we wanted to enquire about transferring our luggage back to Tokyo but couldn’t as we never saw anyone there.

Bathroom was great, small room but was fine for a solo traveller. Great location to Kyoto station.
slight smell to the room but you don’t notice it once you are in there. sound does travel to the falls but everyone was quiet overnight so didn’t have an issue sleeping

The hotel is located a few minutes walk to a local subway stations with Kyoto station being an extra few minutes away. The closest subway station has stairs, which can be difficult if you have large luggage with you. However, lifts are available at another exit just a bit further. Check in was fast and pleasant. An additional accommodation tax (which appears to apply to Kyoto only) was payable. The lift was appreciated and the tatami room as expected - clean and spacious for my needs. The main office door is closed in the evening up to the morning and the staff will provide a code for after hours access through an alternate entry way. Luggage storage was available.
Nothing, happy with the stay.

This was my first time staying in a traditional Japanese hotel. It's very minimalist, and clean. a very good value. Very close to Kyoto station and you get a whole room and bathroom to yourself. This is a much better value than staying in a capsule hotel. This place is run by an older couple and while they didn't speak English, they were attentive and communicated well through Google translate. They have a clear process that is well communicated on how to get inside the building after hours.
I have never slept on a tatami bed before, it's good really appreciate that this is a non-smoking building. for back sleeping, but not that comfortable for side sleeping.

The service here is great and the staff was willing to help me with so much. I am happy with the location and room. I think the value of this room is so good for the amount I payed. I was very happy overall and would like to stay here again if I return to Kyoto.
