I liked the location! It was central to everything in the town

Nothing
The advertisement specified "2 bunk beds" with photos to back up 2 bunk beds, when we arrived we were greeted and shown to a small cramped room with 1 bunk bed the owner said that's ehat he meant, which is clearly untrue and false advertising we were all then squished into this room, one of us even had to sleep on the floor. It was so bad we left the next morning. Would absolutely not recommend this to anyone
3.1
Great staff at reception
Beds were dirty and didn't feel super safe with everyone smoking doobies outside
3.1
The location is in the central of Albany, and easy to find.
They need to provide new pillows and the shower in female bathroom need to get fixed
3.1
Location very central to Albany, nice free breakfast provided, staff helpful and dorms were large.
Hostel is pretty basic so would say it’s over priced, kitchen was small with not many utensils and not many showers for the amount of people that stay there, also hot water was variable
3.1
Bathroom, kitchen and passage ways were nice and tidy. The room was comfortable and quiet. I didn't need breakfast.
Well, nothing, I have no complaints. it was what i expected.
3.1
Good, simple, affordable accommodation in a convenient location. Great staff.
Blind wasn't long enough to keep all the outside light out of the room.

The place is very well located, close to everything (shops, post office, harbour, train or bus station)

the location
i had a window with not glass, and even the wooden piece they had put fell off, it would’ve not blocked the window. didn’t feel safe being accessible from the parking lot.
the bedside table was full of sticky stains.
had a light bulb left next to the table light that wouldn’t even fit in, unusable.
the bed is on a slight slope, so your head is lower than your feet, woke up with the worst headache ever, could barely stand up to go to the bathroom.
3.1
Location, staff, shower, bed, high ceilings,
It could be nicer if there was a private lockable storage.

The hot shower?
I stayed here after finishing the Bibbulmun Track and wanted to spend some time exploring Albany. However, I wish I had read the reviews and stayed somewhere else. There was a staff member working hard to clean up dirty communal areas everyday but the general vibe was filthy.
Birds flew into communal areas and defecated inside on furniture. I used my hiking gear to cook my own food because there were limited utensils, no cutlery and questionable hygiene standards in the kitchen. Long term guests/staff frequently smoked (tobacco, marijuana and so on) and brought the smell inside with them. I shared a dormitory with 2 longer staying women and they frequently made a lot of noise late into the evening, drunk alcohol in bed, shouted out loud to no one in particular and then slept all day. One night one of them stayed up the entire night drinking, shrieking loudly and provided some kind of phone entertainment. I had a couple of nights in a private room which was a lot better but a man tried to force the door open during the night (luckily it was locked) and on the weekend the loud music continued until 0300.

Receptionist was pleasant & helpful on checking in.. We requested a heater 4 room which was expedited.
Majority of residents/guests intoxicated & unruly.
Extremely noisy... yelling & foul language, loud music, doors constantly banging, running up & down hallway till 5am.
Men's toilets & floors filthy, lights not working in men's toilets.... as per my husband.
No one from office around 2 control situation.
Do NOT recommend this place.
NB: We were advised on checking in that...
Guests were PNG /Fiji seasonal workers, therefore, unwinding after working long hrs Mon - Fri. Therefore, expect some noise, but what we experienced plus another couple was way beyond normal tolerance & totally unacceptable.

nothing this is the worst property I have had the misfortune to enter let alone pay for the opportunity.
the smell of urine hits you as you enter the room and that’s after you pass hallways of stinking feet smell
3.1
Not available on 1st morning (was included in rate) adequate next morning
The backpackers are providing accommodation for seasonal workers who leave very early in the morning at different times and are very noisy. The kitchen is left in a very messy state. Tis not a good mix for holidaymakers and workers.
