We lucked out and pretty much had the place to ourselves -
Although it was very rainy and so we never did get out on the water.

Gorgeous location- super quiet and peaceful. And great wine and food were icing on the cake.
Internet/ WiFi was spotty and made it difficult to plan our next stop. But if you’re looking for a place to get away this is perfect.

I had booked the Presidential Suite, which was lovely. 2 bedrooms, one each for my daughter and I. Great space and very clean and comfortable. mini kitchen, mini fridge, separate dining space, outdoor space, living room, etc.
I booked this particular property because their marketing focused on the owner/chef’s “inspiration… where local flavours are infused with cultural and culinary differences”. He also shared that chefs from around the world “bring a cosmopolitan note during hosted special events”. It doesn’t state that this person would be our “owner/chef”, but as one with an Advertising/Marketing background, the promise is very, very close to lying.
I’m a foodie and my 23 year old daughter loves food and is always open to new experiences. And, this is where the Inn on the Lake falls spectacularly short.
Not once in our three night stay did the chef/owner prepare one of his culinary inspirations. He did show up one morning to give instructions to the workers outside that we overheard. We were only recognized as paying guests after initiating the interaction myself.
Now, the details:
Breakfast: Reheated burritos from frozen, reheated frozen hash browns just like the McDonalds option, mini quiche one morning that were 100% from a frozen box selection. Two mornings we were fortunate for some protein.
Two mornings, we had no juice or milk/cream available for coffee or tea. After much conversation, some milk alternative was provided and the frozen juice can was thawed and offered.
Dinner was ok, but in no way represented the cost, nor the marketing promise in the sales pitch.
Very disappointing as this destination was the highlight of our trip.

Nothing that we could fault.. 110% recommend this place.
Err Nothing apart from the fact we only stayed one night

Catered to in every way. Needs some repair as some areas on the deck and porch were rotted but beautiful location and lodge.
A bit pricey but so is Whitehorse so all things considered a fair value

It is a pretty location, the cabin was clean, we slept great, and the staff are friendly.
The place is about 30 minutes from town so don’t forget any supplies or your in for a long trip. The main door didn’t close all the way on the cabin so it couldn’t be locked. The food is a little overpriced, and bring your own hand soap because there wasn’t any.

peaceful remote spot right on the lake. couldn’t do anything but relax
difficult to access anywhere unless you drive

This place is stunning. I stayed in the room on the north side of the house. It was peaceful and quiet. The view is stunning and the lake is within just a few steps. There are also bicycles and kayaks to borrow. I could even see the lake from the bathroom! :) I loved it here and I would happily come back.
There was one person running the kitchen and she wasn't too friendly, she was fine, just not like the friendliness and helpfulness you expect from a bed and breakfast.

It is cozy n relax place to stay . We stayed at 2 bedroom room n have ample space for 4 adults. The bathroom is big with an extra steam bath. Clean n nice decor. Canoe n kayak r free to use but we didn’t use it due to strong currents. It was cloudy n rainy throughout our stay but we managed to see Aurora on our 3rd night. We love our stay n would definitely recommend to friends . Will stay here if I visit Whitehorse again.

Qwerky cabin in the woods
Sulphurous smell from tap water

Main lodge exceptional, staff friendly and food very good.
Unfortunately our Aurora Sun cottage had lots of maintenence issues such as steep staircase to sleeping console which have no illumination handy and are security risk especially for older people. Also tap water has strong sulfur odor.

Very friendly and helpful staff that were able to accommodate our schedule changes. We had a very short stay due to our circumstances but The place was lovely, will definitely return if I can to properly relax and enjoy a peaceful stay by the lake.

Location was perfect, the use of the canoes was fun, and watching the northern lights from our veranda In the bathrobes was so fantastic.

the cabin was a bit shabby and old

It's at a nice location close to town.
We rented the cabin. The window screens were not installed. Too many mosquitoes to open windows. They lended us portable fans. Some of the dishes were not cleaned properly. Had to ask for the Wifi password. We were not given keys to the cabin so couldn't lock the door and the hot tub was not working properly so could not enjoy it as much as we would've liked. I would have expected it to be more convenient for the price we paid.

A perfect place to get away from it all and relax. The complimentary use of canoes, kayaks, cycles, pool table. The provision of games and books in our chalet for indoor entertainment. The hot tub and bbq!
Could have used lounge chairs on the lake side of the chalet as well as adirondak or similar chairs on the ground level on the lake side..around hot tub and/or fire pit.

Nice cozy cabin. Clean and perfect for our family with dogs.
Parking with a trailer was difficult. We were moving cross country so the location was more off the road than I thought.

Awesome location right at the lake. We’re able to go back and forth to the chalet for warm up while waiting for Aurora. Perfect location to see it!!
Wi-fi wasn’t working, so we ended up using/overusing our data since we were looking for the activities in the area - no compensation or even sorry from the staff…
Staff was friendly, but seemed a bit irritated by the kids presence, who were running around the lodge.
We stayed in the chalet and the keys were never provided: “it’s ok to leave it open”.
the heating fan in the house was a bit loud.
Dinner was delicious, but service was a bit messy. they wouldn’t provide you with a menu in advance - you book it and get surprised.

The first time we went, the owner was there and made the best martinis. I was so excited to arrive and have one but the person cooking had no idea how to bartend . He attlempted but mixed a brownish drink in a wine glass.

Excellent hospitality from the owner and staff…the property is right by Marsh Lake and the relaxing atmosphere.

I didn't stay for breakfast but the feel of the whole place was wonderful. Unfortunately I could only stay a few hours exhausted when I arrived and I had to get going early. However the host left me a note because I arrived much much later than I had planned. Everything about the place and my room was super luxurious and I wish I could have stayed long enough to enjoy it.
Internet/wifi is limited there was nothing posted in the room about how to get wifi which I really needed despite only being able to sleep a few hours and didn't have time because of my own schedule to wait to get login information from the staff
Wifi is limited to a 5 MB voucher and you have to pay for more - in this day and age this is problematic and I would have expected it to be included in the price of the accommodation.
Although the host made an exception for me to allow me to bring my dog into a no-pet room because we had difficulty communicating - entirely my fault because I was without cell or internet the majority of the time I was travelling, the added $50 fee for my dog seemed pretty steep considering we were only there a few hours and he made no mess at all. I even collected his poops and took them off the property dumping the little bags in the bins along the highway.

The authentic log cabin had a great views of the lake and many amenities. The room was clean, comfortable and also had a great lake view. The dinner was our best during our whole Yukon trip, the host is an amazing chef. The pool table was a great bonus too
3.5 / 5.0
Quietness and close to the Marsh Lake.
wifi is too weak to access to Internet. One bathroom is not enough for more than 5 persons.
