Last minute booking. Good value. Simple and clean and better than described on the website. Central location was a bonus and plent of space for parking on site.

The location was amazing. That was the highlight of the motel. It was also all that was really available when I booked last minute during peak season that wasn't $500+ per night.
This motel is right in the town - close to all the restaurants and shops. There is a nice beach about a 20 minute walk away too (Tonquin Beach).
I don't ever write negative reviews but the room just wasn't great. It smelled like mildew and the blankets felt slightly damp. When I voiced that to my husband later he said "I was going to say the same thing!"
The beds were very firm and the pillows were flat. Bring your own bedding and that honestly would make the stay way more enjoyable.
It wasn't super clean. There was a disposable flosser on the floor between beds. There was a stain on one of the pillows. Maybe blood? Maybe lipstick?
There are weird threatening signs up in the lobby and the rooms about various things. "You will be charged 5 times the price".
I honestly expected it to be a bit dingy from the photos but it really wasn't amazing.
Despite all that, we still had a great time during our stay.

The room did not had any exhaust, and that was the only drawback of this room. After a while you start feeling suffocated and you are forced to open windows or door for fresh air.

The location was fantastic, close to everything in town and within walking distance. The flowers at the motel were well done and very pretty.
The room smelled moldy and the bathroom was the worst of all. We had to buy an air freshener to make it liveable. The bathroom curtain smelled like it hadn't been washed in ages. The toilet plugged very easily and the "emergency phone number" went unanswered.

Beautiful view from second floor, clean bedding, nice clean bathroom, perfect in town location.
Could smell cigarette smoke— people smoking outside their rooms. Suspect long term tenants in the winter smoking despite signs everywhere and fines enforced.

Great location. Restaurant next door was amazing!
Television didn't work. Showers are pretty outdated and couldn't adjust water temperature properly.

Location
The only thing clean in the room (I hope) were the bed sheets for $200 plus a night they couldn’t even provide coffee in the room. Cobwebs floor coming apart mismatch colours between toilet bathtub and sink. I’m now at a Best Western in Nanaimo for the same cost per evening and WOW! Night and day difference. Never EVER again!

Location is good.
Years of neglect have made this place the definition of a seedy motel. Rooms smell of urine and mold/mildew. Everything was cheap, broken, and filthy.

I was impressed with the value in comparison to its competitors. We are a family of five and the rates that other hotels are charging or not within our means and I don’t think they are within many peoples means. How do people afford $600 a night? We paid approximately $250 a night for this property and we were pleasantly surprised. It is not a brand new fancy, modern location and it’s not directly on the beach, but you can see the water from the parking lot and it is in the middle of town giving you access to nearly everything within a two or three minute walk for necessities like food and standard daily needs. The pictures online didn’t really do it any justice and we thought it was much nicer in person. The people complaining about small inconveniences and giving it to 2 and three stars need to grow up. This place is clean, ran by some very nice people that were highly accommodating and very pleasant to deal with. What more do you need? It will be our stop of choice when we go back.
it was great

Very central to everything
A little worn here and there but that was not an issue for me. It is an older motel so expected.

Really great owners, super accommodating! perfect location and probably one of the most reasonably priced in Tofino (hotel avg. in Tofino July/August is between $490 and $590 per night, the Schooner was less than $250)

All hotels over priced, can not understand why people pay their price. I will bring sleeping bags and sleep in the car every other day be on cost. It's like rent every one is gouging and tourim will fail. I'm not by poor but these stupid prices will bring down tourism. I will not come back...
