Nice and charming place to stay

The place was charming and beautiful, there were common areas with sofas and books, and a good restaurant attached. The rooms were nice and big. Everything was clean, and the staff were super nice. Would recommend 100%

The top floor showers were somewhat old, so they were a bit dark and took some time for hot water to flow.

Friendly. Lots of character. Basic and easy accommodation.

We loved the employees. They were so friendly and made us feel right at home. We had a wedding up that way and just wanted somewhere affordable to stay for the night instead of driving for another 5 hours. We knew it was a hostel and that we had a private room. The shared bathroom was not an issue. In fact we didn't really run into any other guests during our stay. It was all very basic accommodation which is what we expected, but it had a lot of character. It felt like we were staying at someone's house. We also really loved the patios and pub. We enjoyed a few beers and a very tasty pizza.

Good

The staff was super friendly and gave us great tips on what to do in the area. The Arlington has a very nice bar downstairs, where you can eat and drink. They serve good (american) pizza and great beer. The Arlington really has its own special atmosphere to it, what we really enjoyed.

It could be a little bit cleaner in the public rooms (washroom and kitchen).

The place is very authentic. It is cozy and furnished in a kind of vintage way. The staff is very friendly and they were so nice I'd go back just to visit them. Very nice kitchen with all one might need.

I think it could be cleaner.

Good value for money, kind and helpful staff.

The building is a bit old, dirty and dusty. It seems like a minimal investment in upkeep and cleaning (like wiping the dust every once in a while) would greatly improve the accommodation. The whole upper floor gets extremely hot. There was a fan in our room, but no AC. Also, the showers in the upper floor were not working, so there was only a single shower available in the whole building.

This was the perfect roadside stay.

Comfortable room with good shared space and amenities. Good location.

This is a lovely place, and it would be good to see more upkeep and repairs.

Authentic and Unique Hostel in amazing location for anyone who enjoys the outdoors

Location for outdoor activities. Cute town. Bar on main floor with amazing pizza! Must try. A lounge room with games, VHS's and DVD's, a TV with cable... so you can relax after a long day or meet new people and play board games!

They change the Room for the one we ask when we asked.

Booked double bed with bunkbed they gave me a double bed no bunkbed. They Said open until 11 they Closed at 9

Old building

The hostel setup was definitely a catch, cozy

Had some clogging issue for the whole building resulting in everyone not being able to use the shower for the duration of my stay. This was definitely uncomfortable. Staff/ owner should have offered any sort of compensation for this inconvenience. Most direct for would be a partial refund. However, nothing was offered except an apology.

Great experience.

I enjoyed my stay at the Arlington. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would come again.

The only thing I didn’t like was that the lock for room 10 wasn’t very functional. Otherwise, I was happy with my stay at the Arlington and would book here in the future. Thank you.

Superb

Amazing value for the money. Has everything you need when travelling and clearly a lot of thought has been put into the needs of guests - lots of outlets to charge phones, etc.; large kitchen, multiple washrooms, fans, clothes horse, etc. Great host who was very helpful and excellent restaurant/pub downstairs with great food and beer for decent prices. Great location as well.

Nothing, really. It's a hostel so one needs to be prepared to share washrooms, etc but the value for the money is amazing!

very pleasant

Loved the location, the historical building, and definitely the coziness. it was almost like kicking off you shoes and enjoying the atmosphere and the amenities just like at home. just saying the water pressure for the shower was so/so. the only update i would make.
