a magnificent location, with few guests we had our own dorm room, the kitchen is clean and functional, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
I am glad we had our own dorm room. Sharing dorm rooms may not work for me in the future

They had a sauna! And a frigid glaciar creek to run back and forth into. This was not what we expected to find when we booked a "wilderness hostel". To be honest, our expectations of the amenities were quite low going in, especially as we are used to hostel travelling. But this place exceeded what we would have thought possible for this type of accommodation.
The drop toilets were also the cleanest I've ever seen in a park, which was much appreciated!
We also didn't expect to have any electricity so were pleasantly surprised by the availablity of solar charging stations.
The kitchen was also fully stocked, with clear instructions on how to clean with the lack of running water.

This place is awesome if you want to have a little adventurous night in the rockies without camping in a tent.
The staff is super-kind and helpful with everything. If you have questions, ask: they will be glad to give you all the info you need to fully enjoy your stay.
We were the only guests for that night, but we did not feel alone as we had the chance of spending some wonderful time with the host at the fire pit.
The facility is well equipped with everything you might need for a night "into the wild" with the certainty of a roof above your head: there is a kitchen, with drinkable (cold) running water in the kitchen, a fridge, some electricity (powered by solar panels - so be conscious when using it: it is limited), wifi "for emergency only" or quick searches (i.e. for maps etc.), and pit toilets.
As said there is a beautiful fire pit... and a sauna!!! Unfortunately we did not have the chance of using it, but the idea of it sounds awesome: you should try it. Behind the hostel area you will find a creek with crystal clear ice-cold water straight from the mountains (suggestion: if it is safe, go wash your face in it first thing in the morning, it wakes you up better than coffee), and there is a huge boulder easy to be climbed for a nice view of the surroundings.
Super safe and fun place to stay (and very relaxing too). It is far away enough from the highway not to be bother by traffic's noise (it is accessible by car, and there is a parking lot). There is not much traffic around it overnight so some animals might venture into the area (after all, you are sleeping in their territory) so always be wildlife aware.
We loved it for what it is and we surely recommend it, so I really have nothing I did not like.
However, it is safe to say that if you are looking for comforts, and you might find some, you will surely be missing some others.
It is not an Inn, a motel or a B&B, so please go there prepared:
- no showers (unless you want to bath in the creek... I am kidding, don't do it!), but for one day you can get away with some "dry cleaning",
- for COVID-related precautions you are required to bring your own bedding (recommended: a sleeping bag and a camping pillow)
- a camping head lamp might also be useful as there is not much light passed the sunset except for the kitchen and one little very dimmed light source in the cabin.
There are bunk-beds only in quite small cabins. However, those rooms are clean and warm. Please do your best to keep them that way for everyone during your stay.
Beds are short: probably only about 6ft. I am 6ft 7" so I know what I am serious when I say they are short. It will not be an issue for one night, especially if you are tired enough from your outdoor activities (it is plenty to do in the area).
There are some rules you'd better follow to enjoy your stay and let anyone else does that too: it is part of the experience and overall I believe it helps creating a better sense of community.

I especially liked that they found a bed for me even though they didn't have my reservation.
I didn't like that they actually didn't have my reservation - but they found a spot for me which was really great of them.

Jennet is great and help me a lot during the stay.

Great rustic place to stay. My friend and I biked 80 km and stayed there overnight. Great place to meet people.
Had to walk outside to get to the bathroom
