A wonderful journey back to the days when there were well-run inns. The surroundings were welcoming and the room we had (a mini suite) was most comfortable. Excellent continental breakfast was included as was afternoon tea! The adjacent bar and restaurant were also excellent.

perfect location to explore Philadelphia. Very nice old house with a pretty courtyard to sit in
our room in the Garden House was really nice, but had a continuous noise from several ACs in the backyard

The hotel is absolutely beautiful, the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. It is within walking distance of so many things so we just left the car parked in the garage our entire stay. I would definitely recommend staying here. The courtyard is beautiful especially at night.

Incredible historical building in a perfect location for enjoying old Philadelphia. We are runners and loved the neighborhood and the ease of running straight down Walnut to the Delaware River for riverside running paths. The host’s suggestion of Buca D’oro around the corner from the Morris House resulted in one of the best meals we have ever experienced.
Being history buffs, we would have enjoyed more easily accessible facts/anecdotes about the Morris House. There were notebooks of Wiki facts that were interesting but left us wanting to know more about the owners and the house.

This is our second time staying here. We loved the fact it's in a historic building, just a short walk from the Independence National Historical Park and from the city centre. The breakfast is great and all the staff are extremely friendly. We enjoyed having cookies and coffee in the afternoon in the communal areas. Having open fires in each of the lounges is a nice touch in the winter.
Our room was a little cramped (last time I think we had booked one of the larger rooms, when the exchange rate was a bit more favourable!) And there was a bit of noise from outside (air conditioning units?). But overall we were pleased to stay here again and would choose Morris House Hotel in the future.

Location, style and furniture, breakfast, afternoon tea/coffee with cookies
carpeting should be revamped, misunderstanding on cleaning the room

Location and hotel itself are exceptional: history, charm, beautiful courtyard, seating areas, little balcony in the room. We had enough space for two adults and ten years old child. Room was clean. Bathroom was very spacious and clean. It was a pleasant stay. I thought they might have a lot of weddings there it is very photogenic place.
Shower stall (in otherwise large bathroom) was small with unmanageable curtain, not comfortable. Noise: we could hear guest upstairs coming back and them moving and talking in the rooms above. Otherwise it is very quiet and peaceful. At the time we came down for breakfast next morning a person in charge there made unnecessary unpleasant comment which was unexpected since everybody was very polite and accommodating otherwise.
