Very cute hotel, feels like home! Continental breakfast was decent, wished for proteins instead of all carbs, but thats ok- the view is worth it. Hotel location is excellent, rooms are fantastic. Bedding is comfortable.
Maybe some eggs at breakfast instead of all carbs, but thats ok.

Nice lodge on the shore of Lake Tahoe. Comfortable beds, clean bathroom. Rooms a bit dark. Good welcome on arrival. Restaurant good. Dinner good breakfast OK.
Staff generally friendly but in some cases a bit gormless. No guidance or help in fixing activities so I’d recommend looking into that and fixing in advance, the hotel is no help. A good many staff seemed to be gap year students or suchlike.
Some of the cutlery wasn’t properly clean.

Excellent location and beautiful lake view.

Beautiful views, clean and very homely. Ox was amazing
Slightly too far to walk to Tahoe City and restaurants other than the one at Sunnyside Lodge if you want to have a drink and not drive, no bus service in summer evenings
4.3
The amazing view
Found some of the staff at breakfast to be unhappy and not helpful
The room was quiet small for a family of 4..not sure why I was given a room with a massive fireplace in summer ,as this took of most of the room size, and we were also located right down the back of hotel ,,as I was informed by you that it is a very noisy place with loud music .this was not the case
,,so we missed out on getting any view on our balcony

Fantastic location, service was excellent. All the staff were so friendly and helpful.
It had the feeling of a family run hotel with the young and older staff working as a great team.

It was a cool ski lodge vibe complete with afternoon cookies, apple cider and hot chocolate in the afternoon ! Wifi worked great! The rooms were spacious, it was cool to be right on the lake. I got a great view of the sun rising while enjoying complimentary breakfast! It would have probably been really gorg in the spring. We were there during a huge blizzard and the staff was so helpful! The lady at the front desk helped my husband shovel out the car, helped us with traffic alerts, had boots and gloves to use and was so pleasant in the midst of such a snowstorm ! Her attitude and support made the memory of this family vacation amazing !
The restaurants nearby were high priced and closed early. It probably wouldn't have been an issue if the streets to the other side of the lake were open but that was a bummer. I will say being able to walk to the little grocery story and breakfast spot in less than 5 min was really helpful. Not the worst thing we couldn't get chain type restaurants. Fyi no microwave which isn't the worst but it limited ordering food you couldn't heat back up.

beautiful view
the person that checked us in didn’t mention that we had to request housekeeping by placing a sign on the door. Our room didn’t get serviced. The night desk person gave us clean wine glasses but I had to clean our bathroom.

Sunnyside is a classic Tahoe resort with zero fuss and all the necessities. My wife and I and our two kids (10 and 13) shared a double queen and had a wonderful time for New Year's. Our room was updated. The view of the lake was spectacular. It's a sleepy part of the lake which is nice considering Heavenly is just a giant tourist trap.
The onsite restaurant and bar saved our bacon. We arrived in the middle of a major winter storm and when the power went out everywhere else, Sunnyside's generator kicked on and we had warmth, food and libations. A nice continental breakfast is included and the downstairs lounge has a wonderful view of the lake. It feels like you're literally floating on the water.
Sunnyside is conveniently located near Homewood Ski Resort and Firesign restaurant, both of which exceeded expectations, though don't rent skis at Homewood if you're traveling, they'll take advantage of you. Also, buy lift tickets weeks in advance.
We travel often and would highly recommend this place especially if you're looking for a more authentic Tahoe experience. We'll be back in the summer for sure.

The beds were terrible! The room was clean and the location great. I really liked the staff as well. If the beds were up graded I would come again.
