Nothing, we did not get a room! The desk clerk was beyond rude.
I ran out of space, we did not get arrested as the clerk wanted, the cops were so nice, and tried to help us find a hotel.
The clerk also so rude to the cops and would not even print out a copy of our reservation and " cancelation for their report.
They said to us, don't worry, he wont be working here for long!
To start with, we arrived with our reservations on our phones and printed out. The desk clerk was arguing with a group of customers checking out, he was disheveled and sweating. when after about 5 minutes asked us " so what do you want ".
I said, we would like to check in, and stated our names and showed him the reservation conformation on my phone. He looked at his paperwork, and said " Nope ". I said I did not understand , we have reservations. He looked at the computer, and told me the reservations were canceled 3 weeks ago. I said "excuse me ". He then said " You have no reservations and there are no rooms so you have to leave. At this time his rudeness brought out a bit of sarcasm in me, and I asked him " do you have a tent then? " He shouted " No! now just leave ". So we went and sat down in the lobby and started to look for alternative lodging. Since we were there for the Port Huron to Mackinac Island sailboat race which started the next day, all the lodging was sold out. While we were looking on line for some place to sleep, my one companion said to me in a normal conversational tone, " I have our reservation on my phone too, and you know why we don't have a room, they oversold the hotel, ant the local scum canceled us because we booked through booking.com." The comment was probably inappropriate, but he said it to me in conversation. Well, it was overheard by the clerk who then screamed " That's it, You can't use that language here calling me a F****** Scumbag! Now Get Out Now! " My friends retort to him was " Make me ".
The clerk said OK, the cops will be here in 5 minutes., my friend's retort, Good! So, the sheriffs arrived shortly, and asked
"Where are the disorderly troublemakers?" He said "those 3 right there", pointing to the now group of 7 people in the lobby.

It was nice & clean & the breakfast was good; location was good too, right off the expressway
My fiancé wanted to get in the jacuzzi but it had dirt around the edges

Only 2 employees were kind
Toilet never worked at all. If you needed to use toilet paper you had to use the bathroom in the lobby area. Staff seemed put off by having us there. They were awful to our hockey team. Said they had many calls on our team but there were 2 other teams there.

The breakfast was amazing! And the water pressure in the shower was great. Convenient location.
The sheets were so thin I could see the mattress. The shower was a bit dirty and wet. Could use a some updating and a deep clean.

Faifield Inns are all pretty much the same. This seemed a little worse for wear. There weren't any places close by to eat. I had to drive 2-3 miles to get fast food and, since it was a new town to me, having to do that at 10:30 at night was a little unnerving.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The beds and pillows were clean and comfortable, except for the smell.
There was a noticeable weird smell in the hotel. It was a blend of chlorine, laundry detergent and maybe some other cleaner. When we returned home we could smell the hotel odor on our clothes.
