The only positive was the Paul Mitchell shampoo and conditioner.
At check in I was told my Discover card would not work and I had to find another way to pay. A ground floor room was unavailable and no elevator. A pile of trash sat in a corner of the upstairs hallway the duration of my stay. Large stains in carpet throughout hallways. Food debris lined the stairs and hallways. Handrails and walls had paint chipping throughout. Pet kibble on the floor of our room, bathroom sink filthy. Toilet in our room (209) and in neighboring room (211) plugged. Staff brought broken plunger with a split down rubber and a handle which pushed all the way through rubber. After much trying I managed to get the broken plunger to unclog the toilet and then helped the people in 211 as the staff had abandoned them with their toilet still plugged. There was no bar/chain/door security. At 10:40am there was a knock at the door and even though check out was 11 and I had the Do Not Disturb sign on the door, immediately following the knock our locked room was entered by a man who first apologized and then kept repeating “check out”. I then kept repeating 11am! My two sons and I were traveling with my elderly mother who has several medical conditions and who was having a breathing treatment when our room was entered. We were well aware what time check out was and the invasion of privacy was alarming. The same man who’d entered our room came back just before 11 with another man which felt very intimidating, like being “bum rushed” out, right as we were already beginning to exit the room. This behavior was not only bizarre, but utterly uncalled for, completely unnecessary. After walking downstairs with all of our luggage (again no elevator), calling the front desk attendant (he spent most of the time back in his room) to check out, and ask for a receipt which could not be provided because like so many other things on the premises the printer was broken, I asked my son to quote me the time: 11:04.

Nothing it was horrible

It is a convenient location to things in town. The actual building outside and when you enter the atrium it looks good. The mess is when you enter your room. The breakfast area was fine. Easy access when you were on the first floor like us.
The outside said it all. Not maintained! Grass growing tall in the lot and in every crack outside the front door. Our view was of an old propane tank, surrounded by tall grass and some trash. Our room was not well maintained. The door did not want to lock. The light in the bathroom did not have a cover, and you could see the rust and metal inside of the light. The fan in the bathroom was so loud you could hear it way down the hallway. The room was not very clean. Not much of a vacuum job. Trash was left by the headboard of the bed. Behind the faucet of the sink; it was not washed and cleaned and had debris left. Also the heating and air conditioner was very loud, and just ran cold. The adjustment on it was not working. The temp the morning we left was 46 degrees and the room was very cold when we got up and you couldn't get it warm.

I couldn’t cancel my reservation just hours after making it. Reservation clerk was very abrupt and of no help whatsoever.
The way I was treated was very unnecessary.

It was a nice stay.
Nothing

Sink drained slow. Faucet fixture corroded. The desk clerk was on the edge of surly. Carpet needs to be redone.
2.9
Dirty, unkept. Gives Whyndham a bad name. The entire floor smells like a gym bag. Carpet needs replace/ shampoo. Bathroom has not been cleaned in months. Place is in disrepair. Nice view of trailer park across the street though.

Close to the National Park.
Our bathroom sink would not drain.

The pool area was Very Dirty with stuff floating on top of the pool so we didn't use. Bathroom was Old and DIRTY toilet looked like had not been cleaned forever. Couldn't ever find the desk clerk for at all.. Barely got checked in.. The breakfast are was so dirty. I tried to find some jelly and under the cupboards was so disgusting , and there was a flat of biscuits open and just threw under there and i saw mice droppings also open bags of cereal.. I should of called the Health Inspector

Desk clerk was very helpful.always making sure we had what we needed

cost, close to a ton of SD landmarks, front desk staff very nice and accommodating
breakfast area had moldy exhaust fans right next to food, water tray under waffle station to “catch drippings” smelled to be a few days old.
2.9
decent shower pressure and temp
The room was not clean at all, all carpet edges hadn’t been vacuumed maybe ever, sticky stuff on the desk, bathroom fan was broken and horribly dirty, visible trash and bottle caps behind furniture, towels and sheets and bed skirt all had stains, breakfast was disgusting, there was no fruit at breakfast like the photo showed, fridge made all my food frozen solid, the pool was too gross to go in, and the door closing for the neighboring room shook my wall/bed frame and woke me up every day.

I booked due to it having a pool and decent reviews. I was sadly mistaken.
Mold and filth in the room. I noticed the dirty toilet right away. Then the stain on the sheets. With a three and one year old we just wanted them to go to bed. This morning I dropped my phone under the bed and we moved to find a bunch of dust and sunflower seeds. My husband went to the bathroom to see spots of mold. We told the front desk of the issue and he sprayed his mold spray. We went to breakfast and I couldn’t bring myself to eat at it was so filthy. The manager on duty offered to move us but I told him I wanted my money back. He had a confrontation with my husband when he went down to ask him to confirm the email from booking.com stating he couldn’t. Then asked who would believe him that the hotel was so dirty when he stayed there and ate breakfast.

Swimming pool very nice. Very helpful man at reception. Nice large room. Well situated if visiting Custer State Park and Wind Cave.
Only fast food outlets nearby. A decent sit down restaurant close to hotel would be nice.
2.9
Front desk staff was helpful, but short staffed.
Toilet full of crap, shower had blood, door lock did not work, ONE washer and drier for whole hotel. 😑 The dryer was gross and vented into the room. I am guessing not attached and full of lint [fire hazard]. Building needs work. Not coming back. No noncarb breakfast options.

staff, well managed
older, needed updating and repairs

Staff was friendly, but unable to help with a few little things (see below)
Tissue dispenser was empty (not even a box). Staff said supplier was out.
Noise penetrated from hallway, waking us early.
No knives for breakfast (again, staff said supplier was out).
2.9
bed was very comfortable, spa bath was nice, water pressure is amazing.
Housekkeeping missed a few spots, in the spa bath and around the toilet. while the spa bath was nice, the set up was odd to me. breakfast was good, but there were no butter knives and ran out of napkins.
2.9
The breakfast was very disappointing. There was no fruit, pastries were limited to a couple of bagels, and there were no plastic knives available. I ate my waffle with my hands because the fork provided could not cut it. When I contacted the front desk person, he just said he could do nothing about that because he was not issued any knives by the franchise.
The same answer was given when I asked for some tissue paper for my room.
The room hairdryer also did not function.
I will not be returning to this Baymont.

Room was really gross - there was a giant yellow stain on the sheets of one of the beds and hair in it… It was clear the sheets had not been changed since the last stay. There was also hair in the shower on the wall from the last guest, so overall clear nothing had been cleaned. Really gross and disturbing.

Good continental breakfast. Quiet location. Good sized room. Good internet.
2.9
Customer service was good at check-in and check out.
The breakfast area was very dirty, the outdoor grounds surrounding the hotel were overgrown with tall weeds, and the back patio had 6 large bags of garbage piled against the building with cats digging through it.
