Lovely house with a very welcoming host.
We loved the fact that our host hast a story about the house which makes it more enjoyable.
Location is amazing and very near the most important things in Portland.

The property was beautifully furnished and had a large, comfortable porch seating area around the outside with on street parking. Air con in the bedroom was very welcome. Hosts Linda and Jim were very charming and friendly. We had 2 double rooms, next to each other, as we travelled with our adult son, and had a separate bathroom for just the 3 of us, which worked well. Hosts Linda and Jim were on hand if needed but not obtrusive. Jim regaled us with a couple of stories which we enjoyed. As for the 2 cats mentioned on their website, we hardly saw them. I'd definitely recommend staying here. The bed was very comfortable for me. I have arthritis in one hip and usually have pain in the night. These 2 nights were the first two nights in months I actually slept pain free!! I should have asked what the mattress was.
I think there was a little confusion over breakfast, but that's not a deal breaker. I'd told the hosts in advance that I can't eat dairy. but can eat eggs. My husband also told Jim on arrival that he doesn't eat eggs. Linda kindly got me some soya milk for my cereal. On the first morning (stayed 2 nights), my husband and son were given some lovely French toast with fresh berries for breakfast. I was given 2 pieces of bread and shown where the toaster was, which was fine, but there was no jam or anything for the bread, so I had a little cereal and dry toast. Next day, 2 plates of scrambled eggs (which I can eat) and beans were given to my husband ( who doesn't eat eggs) and my son, but nothing cooked at all was offered to me. There was some jam and bread on the dresser that morning.
This is not a complaint at all, merely and observation and to say that if you have any food intolerances then maybe you need to be more detailed than I was about what you can eat, as I understand it is difficult for people to totally understand.
The house was near a busy road so a little noisy at times during the night.

Wonderful stay with Linda and Jim. They were very hospitable and we loved the breakfasts that Linda made for us so quickly. Thank you so much for also welcoming our pup during our visit!
Would have preferred a more flexible check in time (only a 3hr window)

Everything was very nice!

The French toast was delicious. I would have liked a protein addition or option, like eggs (even hard boiled) or bacon/ham

Nicely decorated with antiques throughout. Good location. Breakfast was fine but nothing special.
The first thing we noticed was the smell of smoke. Seems one of the owners is a smoker. The room was ridiculously small. We could hardly move. Had to keep the window open to get rid of the smell of smoke.

I cannot think of anything.

The breakfast was outstanding. The owners were very welcoming. The room was attractive.
The house was too clisevto a main road with too much traffic. One owner was a smoker and smoked in the house. The shower head did not provide enough water flow. The hot water ran out in the middle of my shower.
