If your looking for a pristine property this is not your place. But if you’re looking for a comfortable place with loads of character and amazing hosts, look no further. Alla and Rick are generous, interesting, warm, and welcoming. This was not a typical BnB stay. It’s more like staying with your eccentric relatives that always enchant. Additionally, Alla is a great cook and her organic breakfasts are healthy and delicious.
I am rather picky and could list things that in the grand scheme of things didn’t matter. My husband and I enjoyed our stay and plan to return.

Love the food.

It was an unique place. Quiet.
The place is marketed as a historical B&B. In reality, it is an old and modest home with extremely small bedroom and bathroom and the hosts’ collection of antiques. The picture of the house posted was misleading

I liked its location in close proximity to shops, nature trails and restaurants. The bathroom was mostly clean, but incredibly cluttered.
The pictures online are not reflective of the actual property. It was not well-kept. When driving up, there was overgrown grass/weeds, plants in front with tacky white latticework on the front porch. It looked very well lived-in with shoes, household items, etc. laying around at the front porch entrance. The interior of the house was dusty & musty. Knicks knacks, wall hangings and antique gadgets everywhere, and we were given a guided tour of the “museum”, as they call it. The first hour of our arrival, we were given a braggadocious speech on the B&B, the history of the antiquities, made to sit at the kitchen table to drink a glass of wine (which we accepted to be polite because she seemed excited about it) and listened to the owner talk as she went through her photo albums. She wanted us to wait for the next couple to arrive and sit at the table to talk with them, which we didn’t do. We just wanted some privacy and time with each other. She switched our rooms last minute to accommodate other guests, but she gave us a worse room with very thin walls and a door that doesn’t latch or lock. The front porch windows were in our room and others voices were clear as a bell. The bathroom we had to use was so tiny and cluttered and separated from our room in the main hallway. So, after we showered in the 3’x3’ shower, it was awkward to have to walk out of the bathroom hoping no one was there. She didn’t want to cook us a big organic breakfast as expected (according to her marketing), because of the larger family who booked last minute, and she said she would charge an extra $25/person…at a Bed & Breakfast! We ended up eating out for way less. She had specific rules and expectations that did not seem hospitable. I just wanted to get out of there, but it was non refundable and I didn’t think she would be reasonable to talk to about all these issues I was unhappy about. There are so many things to mention, but it would fill up a notebook.

The breakfast was wonderful , as usual. Alla is a wonderful hostess! You will find everything you need and more (including robes, slippers, toiletries...). Rick has a wealth of knowledge about the history of the houses and furnishings. Enjoyed our stay and visiting with both of them.
