The location and the pool
It was va a water leak on the bathtub and there was no key for the safety box on the room

Grounds were beautiful; food was very good, staff were helpful at all times.
Hotel and facilities are very dated and need TLC; sadly, it was a high-end hotel that has seen better days.

Facilities
They charge for self parking knowing very well there is no alternative (such as street parking in cities) and so the default mechanism is set to “pay to even visit us”.
Rooms need serious updating. Very old and antiquated feel.

The kiddie pool was nicely heated. However the main pool was not. Brandon the manager was very helpful checking us in and seemed to enjoy what he was doing.
The main pool could have been heated.

The pools were nice. Staff helpful
Wish there was an all inclusive option. The price of the food was pretty expensive.

I loved that each morning in the main building of the Villa there were breakfast pastries and that there was also the convenience of grabbing a beverage or item from the bar area and having it just added to our room.
Our first night we ate at Sweetfire Kitchen and while the main courses were delicious I especially enjoyed their cornbread appetizer, it was very very good.
The spa was absolutely phenomenal from the staff to the Quenche bar down below and the food and beverage options it offered. Staff were consistently around the infinity pool area checking on guests and making sure needs for beverages or food were met as well as taking away food/beverage trash.
The shops on property were various as well as many food options within it. Definitely want to pack sunscreen and water with you and wear comfortable shoes for walking around. If interested in the restaurents there, booking a reservation before heading over is probably a solid move. We ate at Whiskey Cake and the food and atmosphere was very good. Restaurant was a little warm but that might've been due to the high amount of people in there at the time we ate.
The details about the shuttle were a bit confusing and while we knew that the Resort entrance was where to go for one there wasn't a set wait station area specifically for the Shuttle. Same went for the shops area, a general area where they would pick us up but nowhere specifically designated as Shuttle boarders waiting.

Facilities
Room/Service left a lot to be desired for a resort at these rates.

proximity to six flags, pool area
I think the room could defintely use some updates and especially the bathroom. The shower was pretty gross and needed updated caulking.

The views were excellent. Hill country and those sunsets. Staff is friendly and smiling.
Room was outdated, smelled like a dirty locker room, ac did not work well until night time. The view was not of hill but over a metal roof. I asked for something specific and was told at desk I would get it. The adult pool should be open later. The 2 outside bars should be open later. Not close at 9 . This is an expensive resort. Do better!

we have stayed here for the last 20 years and have always enjoyed it
only complain I have is that we went for the Easter weekend and when we wanted to make reservations for the brunch we were told it was full. on Sunday morning we noticed large numbers of people leaving after the brunch and went back to the restaurant and asked if guests were not given a preference and I was told NO. that was a big disappointment to hear and should immediately be corrected.

Everyone was so welcoming. The various restaurants were very good. The activities for the kids.
The price to stay was more than what I typically spend…..but I’d do it again and again! Prices are increasing everywhere 😩
