We arrived on Wednesday for a 4-night stay at about 6 pm as we had a long drove from Seward to Homer that day. We were supposed to have a queen room with terrace, sea, mountain and garden views, but the 1st floor room we were first shown was small, little view, with a step up to a very tiny bathroom. For seniors this was a bit of a nighttime hazard so they then showed us to a room more like in the description in our original reservation. The Inn is located above the interesting town of Homer with fantastic views of the mountains across Kachemak Bay. The grounds around the Inn had gardens and terraces and beautiful trees, but because of labor shortages they were having trouble maintaining the large facility. Our room had a queen bed, couch, coffee machine, closet, separate bathroom with a tub/shower and access to a shared refrigerator. The room was not in great repair. but it was adequate. The owners said they were planning to remodel the room as one of their next projects. They normally served breakfast at 8:30 am, which was a problem for us as some of our activities required early departure, so we had to request an early cold meal. There was plenty of parking, a 11:00 pm curfew, and our room was upstairs across a large deck from which I got a great sunrise picture. My husband was not happy with the chicken poo on the deck in front of our door which never got removed during our stay. Our Host, had previously sent us all kinds of information about activities in Homer which was very useful. One morning we had some very interesting conversations with the Host’s husband about the book he was writing and other topics we discussed. We think the Inn was adequate but needs some repairs and better maintenance.

The room is big but an eyesore to look at.
The host was pushy and rude. By the time we were checked in I wanted nothing to do with him. We could use a back door so we did not have to socialize with him. The breakfast was fine but not the usual quality one expects from a B&B. Not a good value.

Fabulous location with stunning views but at the same time away from the madding crowds. The host could was attentive and provided very useful advice.

Excellent location , excellent breakfast five star

Our hostess, Juxia, was remarkable in communicating when forest fires looked to close roads. She went above and beyond in arranging alternate transportation which turned out to be unnecessary when blocked roads suddenly reopened. But her commitment to helping us have a memorable holiday was extraordinary. The room was comfortable and opened to a private terrace with lovely views.
