Entering Narnia!

Opening the front door of the room was like opening the wardrobe in Narnia, taking you to a very magical place. The simplicity of the outside was in such stark contrast to the elegance of the inside. The views from the room were incredible

Everything was great. This place would be all the more perfect if breakfast was available though

Nice short break motel

Have stayed at the Ocean View before. Wonderful view of the water with a nice balcony and chairs to sit on when the weather cooperates. We like it so much that we got a Christmas gift card for our kids to stay sometime in the future. Also, there is a very flat walking/bicycle path right outside the motel. Small refrigerator in room a real benefit.

Like most motels since COVID, maid cleanup service is minimal. But not a big deal as we only stayed 3 days.

Right on the ocean with views

Bathroom needs to be updated, the sink and toilet were super low. The bed & box spring were sitting on the carpet and super low, the cable cord for the TV had a short in it and made it hard to watch the TV

I will not stay there again, even if it were free.

The view was great. One staff member was helpful. There was a cute squirrel that kept breaking in and eating my snacks.

The place was really, really tired and dated. Not one piece of furniture was comfortable. In one room there was an odd sofa and that was it, and an end table and a lamp. Weird.

I had a lovely, peaceful and serene stay at Ocean view Lodge.

the view and how close it was to the beach and walking trails. also loved the bathtub and fireplace with morning/evening deck views of the ocean, especially at sunset.

The did have a spectacular view of the ocean, but the negatives outweighed it.

The view was amazing. And the walking trail was right outside our room, but it was too cold and windy/rainy to walk. It was a winter visit, so we didn’t expect to walk.

The room was very cold when we got back from dinner. The heater was insufficient to warm the room. The bed coverings were skimpy, so we were cold all night. There was a slightly unpleasant smell to the room. The bathroom needs updating. It took a very long time of running the hot water to get hot water. The toilet was low to the ground and the bathroom was cold.

It could not have been nicer

Beautiful large ocean front room. The room had a large minifridge with freezer and a microwave. The was a balcony with chairs to watch the sunset. The fireplace worked very well, in fact it kicked out so much heat we had to open the doors to cool the room back down. Great location just north of town with an oceanfront walkway that will take you to Glass Beach. The folks at reception were very friendly/hlepful with suggestion about things to do in the area. Amazing room for the price-will stay here again if back up in Mendocino County.

After seeing the facility and our room we left and did not stay. It was so bad that we were willing to forfeit our one

ocean view was the only thing that I liked about the property.

Rooms looked like they hadn’t been updated since the 1950s. Purple carpets look worse in person than they do in the photos. Bathrooms door looked like someone had kicked it in. The living room area looked out window into an 8 foot high wall that was 4 feet away (i.e., no view and not outside light). When we saw the property and the room that we were given we asked the front desk if we could cancel but the manager held to the 72 hour cancellation policy and kept our money even though we left and booked elsewhere through booking.com.

Would definitely stay there again.

Large clean room with two separate sleeping areas, Receptionist was very friendly and helpful - full of good answers to my questions. Great view of the ocean. You can hear the surf from your room.

The view and walking trail were fabulous. The black out curtains worked well.

The couch in the sitting area was old and uncomfortable.

It was nice but not as nice as we would have liked; a little disappointing.

very clean with a beautiful view

Smokers came to the back of the building and smoked on the path near our room, making our non-smoking balcony very smokey. The lights at night outside our room shined into our room; the bed was set up so that light was directly in your eyes. There was no microwave.
