Perfekt!

I was locked out of the hotel in the middle of the night. The emergency phone number just kept going to voicemail. I ended up having to get another hotel in the middle of the night, while also being locked out of my belongings. After this whole ordeal, they refused to compensate anything. Absolute nightmare, avoid this place.

The building was very impressive and very clean.
There was no staff available on arrival until the cleaner contacted someone. The morning of departure the toilet became blocked so we went to look for someone but unfortunately no one available. We had to leave early to use some restrooms and we did try to contact the owner via email but still no reply.

The room was cozy, the bed comfortable and the view of the river was nice.
I have to really be picky but the only thing is the bed was a bit too big for the space and required squeezing along the wall. But it would not stop me from recommending this hotel highly.

I love this property I stayed there several times. I love it just the sound of the stairs and walking on the wood and the look of the area is awesome and how quaint and cozy it is.
The biggest disappointment ever we get there around 4:30 we get to our room. The room has never been cleaned so they give us an upstairs room which I have a dislocated me really hard to get up the stairs. Once we do, we get onto our room very beautiful very clean. We come later of that night after dinner it’s my wife’s birthday. We can’t get in the side door because the code doesn’t work after calling several times, he finally explain that we have to go to the front not a problem we get through the front then we have people at 1:30 in the morning cackling out front so we can’t sleep. We called the front desk and no answer several times we finally go back to sleep. We turn the air conditioner on and middle of night because it’s hot but no power so we so we just try to make the best and go to sleep wake up in the morning to no TV to no power to no AC no nothing we call the front desk no answer several times we finally go downstairs and call the number that was on the door he says he’ll be right back 40 minutes later he shows up and finally gets it going time for us to go

Lovely victorian place restored beautifully. Very convenient location to boardwalk and wharf. Comfortable, clean room with nice finishes.Wonderful staff! Complimentary coffee, tea, soda and water are available at all times. Parking is free and ample.
But...the noise from the road that runs directly in front of the hotel is very loud throughout the night. We slept on the first floor so cannot speak for the upper rooms. Earplugs need to be available.

Great old house repurposed into a lovely hotel. rooms were great and the gas log fire set the room off and was needed due to the weather
we found the bed a little small and the pillows were lumpy

Historical building; excellent facilities - renovated, cozy, everything sparkling clean!! Please note you'll need to walk up the stairs - wasn't an issue for us at all though. Our room was very spacious, had some great views of the river, and the windows closed with light blocking shutters so we could comfortably sleep till 10 AM. Also, had robes so you can lounge after a shower.... Al in all - highly recommended.

Everything! This place is so cozy and comfortable. The general manager is absolutely amazing and very informative about the property. I got a flat tire on my rental and the rental company was no help getting it taken care of and I was in a pinch for time to get the car traded out before the closest rental place closed. He kindly and nobly offered to change the tire so I could get to the rental place on time. All of this after he allowed me to stay and wait in my room for the rental company which never showed btw! I will definitely stay here again the next trip to Santa Cruz!! Thank you so much again David!!

Comfortable room with a nice view. The bed was superb and the reception was exceptionally friendly. I like that tea and coffee are always available. I've stayed here many times.

Lovely property with beautiful rooms, well located
We saw cockroaches in our room at night. That ruined the stay for us.

Property is in a restored house originally built in the late 1800's. The restoration is nice and the location is just a short walk to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk and Wharf. Nice refreshment bar in the lobby with complimentary coffee, soft drinks, and ice.
The cleanliness of the room was lacking. Old urine buildup on the toilet seat, mold along the backsplash of the bathroom sink. Lots of water deposit buildup on the shower head. The toilet paper holder would come off of the wall every time it was used. The set screw just needed to be tightened.
Check in is at 3 o'clock. Arrived at 2:30 to see if we might check in a little early. Nobody was at the front desk. Just a sign saying they stepped away for a few minutes and a phone number to call. I called and was told I'd have to wait until 3 o'clock. Okay, came back in at 3 o'clock, found someone at the front desk , but after checking in, was told the room wasn't ready. Needed 10 - 15 mins. Waited until 3:15 to go up to room. Still being cleaned.
We stayed two nights. Next day, nobody at the front desk. Just their sign. Did catch someone new later and asked when the room would be cleaned. Was told we have to ask for cleaning if we wanted. Okay, can you clean the room? No, not today. One of our cleaning people called in sick. They were able to give fresh towels and put the toilet paper holder back on the wall. It fell off again because it wasn't properly fastened.
Just a note, there is no elevator in the property. Keep that in mind when carrying luggage. Mattress was like a futon mattress not a regular mattress
This is a beautiful property in a great location. It could provide a wonderful experience for guest if only the staff paid attention to the details and acted like they cared. They label themselves as "Luxury Suites" but it falls far short of this title. A sign at the front desk saying you stepped away for a few minutes can't run your business.

very modern with an oldie-worldly feel to it. loved the location and the short walk to downtown.

The room had a cute fireplace and a balcony. The bed was comfortable.
It had a weird sink with backwards hot and cold but that is manageable. I wish the television was not such that we were hitting our heads on it all the time.
