The old fashioned feel and the fact or room was basically away from and a separate building from lobby etc.

We stayed at the Inn at 835 Boutique Hotel to visit the nearby Frank Lloyd Wright house. The Inn is in the middle of downtown. The capital building, Lincoln museum and many other sight seeing places are nearby. The Inn was an older building that has been beautifully refurbished. The beds were comfortable, plenty of parking, bathrooms clean, room quiet all making for a good stay. We would recommend this Inn.

It was lovely to be greeted and invited to cheese and wine in the “lobby.”
Beautiful building; well-appointed rooms; vintage and antique decor throughout.
Quiet! All adults was great for getting a good night’s sleep. And the Queen bed was very comfortable.

This is one of my favorite places to stay in Springfield. The Inn is very welcoming and the breakfast was great.
Nothing to complain about.

The breakfast was very nice! The location puts you at a walking distance to the Lincoln house and other places of interest for many tourists. The charm of the old house was a treat as well as the historical materials about the renovation etc that we enjoyed reading as we came in.
The lighting: we like dim indirect light in the room so in hotels we usually leave the door slightly open to the bathroom and leave the light on in there but that was impossible as the fan was on the same switch with an exhaust fan which as most fans was audible. The shower worked well eventually but it took some fidgeting. We could hear people talking loudly in some room nearby so we did our best to stay quiet to avoid disturbing others - the old house does suffer from poor soundproofing.

Breakfast was quick & filling. All staff were very friendly, and our room was very comfortable. We loved coming back from dinner to a basket of cookies on our doorknob!
The mood/dim lighting in the bathroom is a murderous shade of red....really...creepy.

This place was excellent. We both absolutely loved our stay and could’ve easily stayed for another night or two. Room was great and clean, lovely touch with the warm cookies in the room, cheese & wine downstairs. Staff were very friendly, too. Would happily stay here again.

The Orchid Suite was huuuuuuuge! So adorable with really cool furniture. Comfy as heck. The breakfast was made-to-order and fresh. The whole inn was charming!
Also—the balcony was the perfect venue for am coffee.
It was a little close to the train. Not a huge problem for me, tho, because I sleep very soundly.

The staff were fantastic. There were plenty of extra touches and a more personal atmosphere than a hotel. The tree lined street view from the third floor was attractive. Great price for the stay. Quiet location.
The temperature was on the cool side. I prefer black out curtains for sleeping, but they wouldn’t fit the style of the room. The furniture was attractive but not the most comfortable for lounging in your room.

lovely, historic Inn with lots of character. our room had a large balcony.
Not very handicapped accessible. the elevator was shut down for a routine check the morning we checked out so we had to drag our heavy suitcase down the staircase from the upper floor

Great location within walking distance to major tourist sites. Nice touch to offer wine and cheese early evening in the parlor room. Friendly, efficient staff. OK breakfast.
Slightly charmless and worn property, although it's reflected in the price and not a problem if budget is a concern.

The staff was friendly. That’s pretty much the only positive I have to say.
Wasn’t a big fan of the location. While it was centralized to a lot of things, not the greatest of neighborhoods. Very close to the train tracks so expect a lot of train horns throughout the day and night. The room was average. Kind of expected more out of a historical house. The bed was cool with the posts and curtains. The curtain came in handy when I realized the back door shade did not cover the window on the sides so the neighbors who shared the patio could look into the room, straight to the bed. So I closed the bed curtain while I was sleeping. Also I know it’s for esthetics, but 12 pillows are a lot. I didn’t want to put them on the couch because I was using it, and definitely not on the floor. So I just piled them next to me making it a little uncomfortable to sleep. The top duvet/comforter was so heavy and itchy I could not use it.

Very clean property and friendly people. interesting history. Thoughtful touches like a basket of cookies and the weather forecast on the door knob in the evening. Comfortable bed. Well located and close to the Lincoln sites.
Nowhere to sit except the bed. There was a lumpy decorative chair but it wasn’t good for sitting and there were 2 of us. The room was hot and the remote for the climate control wasn’t working—no matter how low we set the temperature, hot air was blowing from the vent and the ceiling fan wouldn’t turn on. The TV never connected the entire time we were there. We got the Wifi to connect but nothing on the TV worked. The bathroom door scraped the ground and had to be opened and closed with two hands. There was a light outside the window attached to the iron decorations that made the room light at night even with the shades closed. Breakfast was uninspired.
