StFf and cleanliness
4.5
I loved that it was so easy to get to the beach from the hotel. The pathway was easy and the bubbling pool of water made it easy to clean the sand off my feet. There were lots of places to choose from where to sit outside and it never felt crowded.
The menu for the Strand was very limited in choices and overpriced for what you got. There was no comfort or bar food so sitting in the bar area was not attractive.

Great staff, and wonderful treatments at the spa.
It was easier than usual to book facials, massages and other therapies because of the season.
I was annoyed by thee false fire alarms within three days. it’s especially disturbing early in the morning.
it’s stressful to decide whether to stay put or leave with your valuables. I decided to wait.
Thankfully, when I expressed my stress to the staff, I got a discount on one of my treatments
4.0
High standards for cleanliness, friendly professional staff, location and spa/beach amenities.
The restaurant and bar offer limited menus and the prices are excessive considering the simple ingredients and plain fare.
The fitness classes were also very limited compared to previous years.

Excellent treatments at the spa with outstanding therapists
Friendly staff
The facilities are now open fully as they were in the pre-Covid era. Access to the lockers and spa facilities is now open
Dining at the restaurant is extremely expensive.
some amenities and treats aren’t available (free bottle of water , turning out at night, printed schedules.

Location is excellent....right on the beach with staff helping with chaises/food. This was the best feature of the hotel. The room was quiet and had a nice partial view of the ocean.
Its too expensive for what it is. Its a 3 star hotel with 5 star prices. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite (with pull out sofa, kitchenette, and view of the ocean). The sofa bed's mattress was 1" thick (and had a stain on it) and made it impossible to sleep comfortably for our daughter. They did provide a roll away the next night which was much better. For $1600 per night, we expected more. We waited until 345pm to check in and it seems as though the room was cleaned in a hurry and not completely--the bathroom wasn't as clean as it should have been.

Breakfast was good. Dinner menu too limited

Large suites
Nice fitness facility
Great valet
Did not allow a late check out which was disappointing

The staff was pleasant and courteous. The room was cleaned thoroughly.
I was very happy with the services provided by the Salon and the beauticians. It was good to see again staff from the pre-Covid period
Prices are higher and the amenities have disappeared. I understand that the Covid-19 pandemic has had a serious impact on the way things are run. Nevertheless, I was frustrated by the the lack of lockers, showers, jacuzzi, bathrobes and other amenities provided as you entered the spa; you have to change in the treatment room. Some of my therapists have left.

the bed was fairly comfortable
The entire place was closed due to covid when fl is supposed to be open this is unacceptable for a $800/night hotel...then as you check out they try to charge you a facilities upcharge for the workout facility...also the layout is ridiculous and not easy to get around and very dark...all and all a miserable experience.
The beach area was disgusting and dirty

Common areas are nice and the staff is very friendly. The common areas were not very crowded and they were clean. Can't think of anything else.
The rooms are dated, the furniture was old and smelly. The carpets in the hotel rooms are dirty, had stains, and smelled funny. We had a one-bedroom, and there were no closets, wardrobes in the living room area even though they list one-bedrooms for 3-4 people, and we told them that we would use the living room convertible sofa as a bed. So the person who stayed in the living room had nowhere to put their clothes in. No drawers, no cabinets or wardrobes. Also, there was only one chair in the huge living room area, other than the convertible sofa bed. The kitchen utensils and coffee cups were old and dirty. Coffee cups had old coffee stain in them. The coffee machine was dusty; we never used it cause it looked dirty. The beds are so soft and uncomfortable, you sink deep in them and feel like drowning. The room had this funny smell that made me wake up from sleep one night. The location of the hotel is not great. There is not much good food option in the neighborhood. We had to depend on the hotel restaurant in the mornings because of having a small kid with us, and it is an absolute disaster. The restaurant is overly priced. They serve pre-fried and microwaved french fries!!. The breakfast at IHOP across the hotel is probably better than this restaurant with a quarter of its price. We only had one lunch there, and it was awful, so other than getting some breakfast, we never ate any other meal at the restaurant.

Staff are very attentive and welcoming, in spite of the masks that make a sometimes difficult to communicate.
I had a great experience at the ROCCA salon, and was able to get treatments and haircut by beauticians who knew me and remembered me.
The cleaning staff in the room was great and left everything sparkling clean.
The restaurant staff was very attentive to my needs.
I am a longtime customer of the Carllon and the changes in policies and amenities were disconcerting. I do understand that many of the new policies and restrictions are related to the Covid pandemic.
Nevertheless, I missed the ability to use the spa facilities (locker room, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, etc.)
I missed seeing staff who knew me, and my favorite therapists.
Prices have increased and some amenities are are not available. This is the result of the Covid crisis

NOTHING! This was one of my favorite properties when booking in Miami Beach, but this last experienced moved it from favorite to I will never stay there again. The hotel failed at every level from slow valet service, horrible restaurant and bar experiences, forgetting to serve us during breakfast, fighting with us over seating arrangements, etc.... See below for details...
Let's start with doors that didn't work in my bathroom, toilets that were not appropriately cleaned, the first breakfast that had only one server and took almost 2 hours to get completed, a valet service that took 30 minutes to bring my car, a waitress that forgot we were there and we left and she was horrified that she forgot us outside to the best part of the horrible weekend - we got pushed around and into a fight with the restaurant staff the second evening. I travel a lot and as I said, this was one of my favorite properties.
Even though the first day everything had gone wrong, the second evening we decided to meet my sister and some friends at the bar. My wife and I ordered some drinks, and we were enjoying them when my sister and friends showed up. The bar tender was attentive and made us amazing drinks. The fellow working the front told us that we were crowding the bar (even though nobody was there) and asked us to move to some small tables by the entrance. BTW - total attitude during the request, but we complied given COVID rules and concerns. We moved all our drinks ourselves, and I even took a list of additional drinks from my guests to the bar tender who made them and brought them to our little tables. A few minutes later the same guy that moved us to the small tables told us that we had to go sit outside to which I replied - NO!. You sat us here, made us move everything and now you want us to go out in the heat, I said I refused to put my guest in the heat. He got more belligerent and started raising his voice to me. As you can imagine this escalated quickly and I asked him to leave us alone or things would get ugly. Finally he left stomping away and by now we were horrified and decided to leave. To finish our experience the next morning decided to have breakfast in the same restaurant, the hostess sat us down, the waitress took our drink orders and then FORGOT ABOUT US outside.

It's got the most amazing spa and set of exercise classes. Rooms are wonderful. Food, location, everything.
I liked every single aspect of Carillon. It's amazing, and my go-to at Miami Beach.
